Gorgeous pictures! I am a big fan of cookbooks with pictures because I want to know what I am making and how I should expect it to look. This book did not disappoint. This book has recipes for breakfast, lunch/dinner, side dishes, desserts, drinks, sauces and one pot/pan meals. It talks about what the paleo diet is and lists what foods should be avoided to support this diet. I also like that each recipes gives you a time estimate so you are aware of how long it will take. I can't wait to make even more delicious meals! Thank you NegGalley.
Gorgeous book with mouth-watering pictures! This book contains recipes for breakfast, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, drinks, sauces and one-pan/one-pot meals. It explains what the clean paleo diet/lifestyle is and gives you tips. Of all kinds of diets, I find paleo the best one. Most of the recipes have pictures and it makes you want to make them even more! I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
This book has a fantastic collection of side dishes and sauces that make my paleo heart melt. Thats not to say it doesn't have an amazing amount of entrees also, because it does! I cannot wait to make Soft Boiled Eggs Salad, Brussel sprouts slaw, or Potatas Bravas. I needed more side dish inspo and this is the perfect place. I love also how the beginning of this book has a collection of staples and instructions for those who are not as familiar with clean living.
This book is a work of art! Perhaps one of the most visually appealing cookbooks out there, it is filled with beautiful photos of individual recipes that will make you feel like cooking as soon as you open it.
Recipes are neatly organized with ingredients, alongside allotted time and tips on how to make each recipe work best. There is a wide array of recipes covering categories of brunch, mains, desserts and all the in-betweens. Some recipes require more ingredients then others but overall recipes are simple to execute.
Although I personally don't follow a Paleo diet, the author advocates intuitive eating, not restricted eating, which I identify with. I truly believe there is something for everyone in this cookbook, whether you are Paleo or not, this is a great addition to your collection.
This cookbook introduces readers to Paleo cooking. Chapters include an introduction to the Paleo lifestyle, breakfast & snacks, soups & salads, apps/entertaining & finger food, one-pan/one-pot meals, main dishes, side dishes, desserts & drinks, and sauces & dressings. Most recipes have a photograph accompanying them, but not every single one. All recipes do have, however, clear and complete instructions that make cooking seem easy. What might not be quite as easy, is finding all of the ingredients, especially specialized types of flour. For myself, it would be difficult because I live in a very small town and we don't have alternative flours at our grocery store. Having said that, most recipes have easy-to-find ingredients and those specialized ones don't occur in all of the meals. I tried one of the sauce recipes today, the "honey mustard sauce & dressing" and it was delicious! The "best steak rub" was also really yummy! Most of the recipes in this book seem very appetizing and I look forward to trying them!
Clean Paleo Real Life offers some great recipes to allow you to live a Paleo lifestyle. I was a little unsure about the yukon gold potatoes that kept appearing, but those can always be skipped if they don't fit in for someone. I thought there were a lot of unique yet not out there recipes in here that I would definitely feed to my family. I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to try these recipes, particularly the main dishes, which I thought were varied and appealing.
I love cookbooks and this one is a good one it has all the key components to a great cookbook. Lots of pictures, clear list of ingredients, easy to follow instructions, and substitutions! I will be wanting a hard copy of this as I felt the ingredients were almost always durable and the food looks amazing! Her introduction was great! The waffles are the best keto recipe I have run across and her side note helped me figure out why sometimes things flop when I use coconut milk!
Beautiful cookbook and wonderful pictures.
Visually it's very appealing and recipes looks really delicious.
Instructions are easy to follow.
Full of mouth watering recipes with lovely vibrant pictures to tempt you to have a go. It makes such a difference when there is a picture for nearly every recipe. I for one need to see what it is going to look like and without this I probably wouldn't have a go. There are recipes for each meal of the day plus sauces, desserts, and drinks. The instructions are plain, simple and easy to follow, and there is lots of additional information on the paleo diet and lifestyle. Overall an excellent book with recipes you will want to try.
I cannot find words to describe this book. The first thing that comes in my mind is the pictures accompanying the recipes. Great, water-drooling pictures. I've already tried some of the recipes and they tasted as lovely as the picture (ha ha). I recommend this book to anyone who feels that it is time to change something in the way they cook or what they eat. Eating healthy should not be an option but a way of living. Also, if you think that you are clumsy in the kitchen, don't worry. you'll survive and your kitchen will survive. They are so easy to cook and if I was able to do them, you'll be as well.
I will recommend this book to anyone.
This was such a beautiful cookbook full of delicious recipes! I look forward to trying Cauliflower Rice N'oatmeal, Drunken Zucchini Noodles, Buffalo Potato Salad, and Five-Minute Chocolate Chip Blondie. The book was visually stunning - beautiful photographs and gorgeous fonts! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in eating clean recipes - there is something for any craving!
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley, for a digital ARC!
It's been a while since I read a cookbook... and I didn't realize how much I missed it. I chose this book because I recently passed a test because I wasn't digesting pretty much everything I was eating, and I wanted to know why... I had so much inflammation that my naturopath put me on a very strict diet (no gluten, no sugar, no fruits, no bread... no fun). I thought that this book could help me with this diet, and I found multiple recipes that I can't wait to try!
I liked how she says that she doesn't believe in cheating on a diet. You're not cheating and you don't have to feel ashamed or like a failure because you ate something you weren't supposed to. You need to listen to your urges too. The key is balance. She hopes that her book will become a valuable resource for people looking to change their relationship with food ; everyone can have a beautiful, delicious and mouth-watering meals without feeling deprived.
This only downside that I have is that I can't eat nuts, and a lot of recipes use raw cashews. If you can... they look YUMMY! you'll love them for sure.
Many thanks to Fair Winds Press for the complimentary e-copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A great addition to any Paleo cook out there. Clear recipes that have twists from the original. The pictures are also gorgeous. Definitely a new staple in my recipe go to.
Explore the paleo way of eating, with this recipe book to guide you in the ways to do it, following the guides to enhance your experience.
Since the focus on this book is more about healthy eating after a diet, the focus isn't on paleo so much as whole food meals. So several recipes don't conform to the paleo diet (most are clearly noted as so). But that said, it's still a book about healthy meals that is beautifully presented, fairly easy to make, and with a nice combination of exotic and comfort foods.
Each recipe is cleanly presented. A large italic title is often accompanied by a nicely photographed final version of the item. Prep/cook/and yield are presented but there is no nutrition information. Ingredients are listed in bold and italics. There is an introduction paragraph and then numbered paragraph steps. Most steps have only one to two sentences, so you don't have a case where a lot of steps are crammed into one to make the recipe look 'easier'. A callout section has notes for substitutions and other tips.
It all looks interesting and the recipes are indeed easy to follow. As with most healthy cookbooks, you'll have to stock up on items you don't usually use. E.g., peptides, ghee, coconut aminos, arrowroot powder, coconut yogurt, harissa paste, etc. You'll also need to make some items in advance (the author uses her special paleo mayonaise, for example, in many recipes).
In all, very nicely presented and photographed with a diverse set of recipes. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
Loved the photo's in this book! They helped bring the recipes to life before I even started making them :) While I have not made all of them, the instructions and ingredients are easy to find and follow. Plus, they taste good. Which is a definite plus. I recommend checking out this book (I am dairy free for life because of an allergy) while not all the recipes were completely dairy free, they were easy to convert.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars :)
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
I loved this cookbook! The pictures are beautiful and plenty (something I always value in cookbooks). The recipes are a little time consuming but use real food ingredients that aren't hard to find. I tried several of the recipes and I thought they all tasted great! The n'oatmeal was a little "cauliflower-y" tasting and wasn't my husband's favorite but I didn't mind it at all. The chicken taco salad was DELICIOUS and got rave reviews from me and my husband both and I will for sure be making that one again. I'm excited to try the other recipes!
