The Weekend Away keeps the reader.s interest! The twists and turns throughout the book keep the reader engaged. Each character is very well developed and portrayed in an accurate way. Well worth the read!

Gah! SO many twists!!! Love love love when the book gives such good descriptions you only want to keep turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next. The ending was excellent. Wow I really enjoyed this book. Finished it in one four hour sitting! I enjoyed that it was a fast paced book and got right into the story within the first few chapters.

Kate and Orla (best friends for 20 years) plan a weekend away in Lisbon. Kate plans a special night out at a fancy restaurant and then to a bar for drinks. There they meet 2 men and Katie invites them back to the apartment they were renting for the weekend. From the beginning the story pulls you in and keeps you guessing until the end.

I really enjoyed The Weekend Away! Nothing like a girls trip to reconnect two friends who have grown apart due to their lives changing over the years. Lisbon provided a beautiful setting for this novel that kept me on the edge of my seat until the end! So many interesting and unique characters. Once you think you had it all figured out, another twist was thrown at you! Kept me reading until late in the night.

WOW! What a great book. Twists and turns, deception, lies, suspicious characters... it has it all. The adventure begins in the first chapter and does not let up. Great story and the author does an amazing job of developing the characters without dragging it out. I can see this being turned into a screenplay. One of the best books I've read this year.

I have always loved books like this and Alderson's was refreshing! Honestly, I was hooked just from the synopsis, and I'm so thankful to have been given the chance to read this book. I look forward to suggesting it to many of my mystery-reading friends!

WOW! What a great book. This one will keep you guessing to the very end.. it has it all. The story begins quick and does not let up the pace. Great development of the characters without unnecessary details. I hope Netflix picks up the rights to this one to create it into a movie. When this comes out in April I am sure it will be on the bestseller list!

A girls weekend away with your bestie. What could go wrong? The answer is a LOT. I read a lot of mysteries and thrillers and often know where the plot is going. Well, in this case I only thought I did. I can't count how many times I said "wait, what???"

The suspense builds, and builds, and then wham - it goes in an entirely different direction. Then it builds again - and wham! I loved the ride! I was sucked in the whole way and stayed up way past my bedtime, saying the infamous "just one more chapter".

A weekend away was a solid read. The author did a great job with the twists and misdirections for most of the book, but the ending was predictable. I was a little disappointed because I truly enjoyed this.

Best friends forever Orla and Kate leave London for a long weekend away to Lisbon. Orla thinks it will just be a relaxing getaway leaving her baby daughter and husband at home. But, the first night there, Kate insists they go to a bar, and then bring two men back to their Airbnb. Orla wakes up the next morning thinking she must have been drugged as she can't remember much, and Kate is no where to be found. While trying to piece together what happened and convince the police Kate is missing, Orla finds out some devastating information about her best friend, and her own marriage.

Wow! What a fabulous book. I finished it last night and my adrenaline is still pumping. What begins as a girls' weekend away, becomes a search for the truth when one of the longtime friends goes missing. This book has everything a mystery reader could possibly want in an intriguing read: friendship, love, mystery, sex, lies and the list goes on. Every time I thought I had the book figured out, another curveball would be thrown. Fantastic to the end!!! Will leave you reeling for more.

This was a very fast paced mystery/thriller. It kept me on my toes while I was racing to finish. The character development throughout was fantastic. Several twists, but that last twist. I thought I had it all figured out and then the further I read, the more off I was, which ultimately made the ending that much more exciting.

Yes! One of my new favorites. This premise was so exciting and I literally couldn't put it down. The family ate cereal for dinner and nothing got done until I found out what happened.

The Weekend Away is a thriller about a woman whose best friend goes missing during a weekend vacation they take together. The book brought continuous plot twists that I definitely wasn't expecting, but those made the book an interesting read and made me wonder what was going to happen next in the plot.

Oh my goodness I just realized that I did not review this book in a timely manner. I actually enjoyed it so much I’ve read it twice. So many twists and turns and it kept me guessing until the end. The Weekend Away by Sarah Alderson has SOO many twists and turns! I don't want to give too much away but this book is one you will want to pick up for your next vacation/beach read. The ending was fantastic!

Orla and Kate are best friends and they take a weekend away for a girl's weekend. Some best friend trips can go well some not so much. I loved the character development in the story and the twists that left you wondering where things would go next. An enjoyable summer read.

I grabbed this one with the knowledge that Netflix was creating a movie of it. Wanting to read before watching, I devoured this one over a day at work, listening. It is fast paced. If you are familiar with other British/ Irish thrillers, this one matches the mental confusion template. After finishing, I felt for the MC as her world is forever changed. Grab this one for a great beach read or for a long weekend, you’ll not be disappointed. Thanks NetGalley for the free ARC.

I read this book quite awhile ago and forgot to review it.

Throughout all the twists in this book it’s hard to tell exactly who is the good person. But the ending when you find out the twist, ah, perfect!

I couldn't relate to the new mom getaway feeling, but when the 2 ladies invite 2 strange men back from the bar, the book takes off from there. When one of them goes missing, the other is completely shattered. This is a great mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed! It was very engaging and well developed.

The Weekend Away is a suspenseful mystery that kept me guessing. I didn't love the ending but really enjoyed the story. Can't wait to read more from this author.

When two long time friends get away for the weekend, neither of them could have dreamed how they'd wlak into so much trouble. A perfect mystery as Orla frantically searchs for her lost friend. Lots of tension, action and twists kept the pages flying.
