I have to say this was a fun and quick read. Naturally, all of the cocktails tie back into the show with characters having their own drink, along with some of the themes surrounding the show. As someone who has binged, and done many a rewatch, it was nice little touch to recall certain moments and characters that are no longer with us.

The cast photos were a nice touch as well. Not only is Peaky Blinders a wonderfully written show, but the costume department does a wonderful job as well. So the high res photos were a wonderful addition to get a closer look at those. The photos of the cocktails were a wonderful, and colorful, addition as well. One page held a quick and easy recipe while the next had a photo of what your cocktail should look like. Even though I read this as an ebook, I could see they set up the Hardback will have and I think it lovely.

I also liked the sketches the joined the recipes themselves, it helped to keep with the Peaky Blinders theme.

The books has three different sections: Rum, Gin, and Other Spritis. Each section has a hanful of cocktails that I'd personally never heard of before, and found a few drinks in each section I would love to try to make myself. And, a few I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try because I'm not real sure how I feel about marmalade in cocktail. There is also a lovely index at the back of the book for a quick search of anything you are in the mood for.

Honestly, my biggest issue with this book had nothing to with the book itself. It was just very hard to read in ebook form. Some of the photos were distorted and I had to turn the flip option off my phone to read a few pages they were set in a vertically instead of horizantally like the rest of the book. An issue that will not carry over to physically copies I'm sure.

For my first book gifted to me through NetGalley I was happy with it. It was a quick read, but an enjoyable one. In fact I'd love to add this to my collection of cookbooks when it officially released. Hints have already been dropped about how this would make a wonderful of Christmas present.

Buy, Borrow, or Skip: If want a to read a fun companion from the show I'd say snag this bad boy from your local library. If you, like myself, collect cookbooks I'd say buy. Not only is it a fun conversation starter, the drinks are easily made at home, and Tommy Shellby is on the cover.

I'm sure this is a book suitable for fans of Peaky Blinders, especially if one loves cocktails. There's sections in it, which makes it easy to go through, as well as several cocktails I want to make, such as Arthur's Coffee.

This is a beautiful book. The photography is lovely and rich, both of the cocktails and the cast. The naming is clever, and while some of the drink recipes are not super original, they are thematically connected enough to make sense. Peaky Blinders fans will want a copy of this book. Cocktail fans will likely find something more extensive with more recipes and fewer brooding photos.

First. I cannot love Peaky Blinders enough (well, I suppose I could, but y'know, all within reason. Nope. Peaky Blinders defies reason in my case). To see a cocktail book based on PB just makes sense. It's a beautifully designed book with great illustrations, awesome photos, and ingredients/recipes I can handle - pour, stir, pour, done). My next PB Netflix binge will definitely be including drinks found in this book. It's the small things that bring happiness. #PeakyBlindersCocktailBook #NetGalley

Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book by Sandrine Houdre-Gregoire is full to bursting with interesting and beautiful cocktails and drinks. The drinks are easy to make with only a few ingredients. The book itself is stunning! Each cocktail has its own picture and special name and there are pictures of various Peaky Blinders characters throughout the book.

As a super fan of Peaky Blinders, and a lifetime fan of cocktails (all varieties), this book was a win win for me. Got to say, not so much the whiskey - just because - yuck (although my hubby was a huge fan of the Vendetta). Now get me on the Champagne Cocktail, the West High, and the Pimm’s Number 1 and I was in heaven. So many wonderful twists on classic cocktails, all inspired by the world of Peaky Blinders, also featuring some wonderful photos from the series. If you’re both a fan of Beaky Blinders, and trying the odd cocktail (or two, or three), this is most definitely the book for you. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book is a mixology reference with recipes curated from the TV series in association with the production company. Due out 22nd Sept 2020 from Quarto on their White Lion imprint, it's 112 pages and available in hardcover format.

This is a really solid bar book full of traditional and updated recipes. The recipes are arranged thematically, by main alcoholic ingredient - whiskey, gin, and other liquors. Worth noting, this book doesn't include information about bar equipment or accessories, but the photos are specific and clear enough that the reader won't have any trouble following them. The photography is beautifully rendered and adds a lot to the appeal of the book.

Each of the recipes includes an introductory description and yields, ingredients in metric measurements (ml) with American standard (oz) in parentheses, and step by step instructions. Variations and alternatives are provided at the end of the recipes. These are -beautifully- made cocktails and the blending ingredients are exotic, colorful, and may be moderately difficult and expensive to source (cherry heerling liquer, peach brandy, Noilly prat, Peychaud's bitters, and others with which I was even less familiar).

Many of the ingredients should be available at any well stocked grocery/liquor store although some might need to be sourced at specialists.

Cocktails are such a civilized interlude and this book includes a solid cross section of 40 (new and variations on old) to build mixology skills and impress one's friends at the next gathering.
Five stars. Fans won't want to miss this.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

A great book, would make a great Christmas gift for anyone who is a fan of the show. The names of the cocktails are based around characters or events in the show and very clever. Cant wait to try some of the cocktails out - would make a great theme for a cocktail party or just having a tipple whilst watching the show.

Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book by Sandrine Houdre-Gregoire is a gorgeous cocktail recipe book that is filled with recipes inspired by the popular show, Peaky Blinders. The names of the drinks are delightful and the recipes perfectly match the vibe of the name and the show itself. The photographs are beautiful and also have a gothic vibe similar to the show. The Last World was one recipe I tried and it was delicious, yet strong, just like I imagine the Shelby boys drinking. There are some more niche ingredients for a few of the recipes, but the recipes are simple that you don't need to purchase a bunch of ingredients which I find is common for many cocktail books. Overall I recommend this book if you love cocktails, STRONG liquor, and the Peaky Blinders!

Many thanks to the publisher White Lion Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This is neatly illustrated and has some beautiful photographs to accompany what reads to be some delicious drinks. The book pays homage well to Peaky Blinders with characters, places, and events referenced in the names of the drinks that range from Rum, Gin, and other spirits for the cocktails.

A super fun gift book for any Peaky Blinders fan! With fun cocktails that tie into the show and beautiful photographs of the characters that will make anyone swoon, the Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book is the perfect tie-in for this show!

By Order of the Peaky Blinders, you must draw up a bar stool and enjoy a cocktail with me.

This is a sumptuous book, with beautiful photography from the hit show ‘Peaky Blinders’ with perfectly matching photography of aspirational cocktails, which will have you dribbling as you reach for the shaker. Those Shelby brothers must really love their whiskey and gin, as those are the predominate liquors making up the recipes. But there’s also Pimms and champagne if you prefer. Lots of new combinations here and I for one will not be making my ‘West High’ without burning a few pine needles for that smoky taste.

The instructions are simple, usually with only two things to do to make your drink. The recipes are new and creative. Yes it’s a coffee table, easy reading book, but it’s a classy one. Perfect for the Cillian Murphy fans out there who like a tipple or two.

The “Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book” is a great addition to any bar/party. With about a dozen ingredients you could make any number of the recipes provided for in this book. Many of the cocktails share juices and liquors and it makes it easy to keep a stash on hand to mix up whatever you are in the mood for. This book is also incredibly simplistic, about 90% of the recipes take 5 minutes to make and require only basic kitchen tools - no need for fancy bar tools. Each recipe is also equipped with a photo of the finished product. Really enjoyed this book and look forward to working my way through all of the drinks.

This book is AWESOME!!!! I am a huge fan of the Peaky Blinders show, and while I am not a drinker myself I did enjoy all of the themed drinks in this book. It was fun to see drinks named after certain characters, moments, places or references from the show. The added feature of beautiful artwork of characters from the show was a really nice bonus too, and kept me turning the pages. I would recommend this book for any fans of the show, and as an item that would make a nice gift for any of the Peaky Blinders fans in your life.

This book is creative and full of delicious cocktail recipes! My husband is a self proclaimed cocktail connoisseur and we love all things pop culture. Our worlds collided with the creation of this book and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This would make a great housewarming gift or would be perfect for fans of the show. I already tested out the recipe for Grace’s Secret and I can’t wait to make this drink for friends. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy!

This book is absolutely beautiful!!!

During lockdown I have become a HUGGGGEEEEE Peaky Blinders fan! So this book was a no-brainer.
Wow! This book is just so beautiful. The images of the drinks and the cast are absolute perfection!
So many cocktails I want to try - despite the fact they seem pretty lethal with their ingredients haha!

I have been lucky enough to receive an electronic advanced copy for review, but it's so beautiful I've had to pre-order a hard copy of the book.

I haven't yet tried any of the recipes, but I will be!!! Loved this, and it's a brilliant accompaniment for any fan of the show (or any fan of a bevvy or two!!)

The Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book is one of a kind! The cocktails are creative and delicious, and the photography is beautifully done. Although you may need to run out and gather some of the more unique ingredients, I believe it is completely worth it!

5/5 Stars! Definitely a book for cocktail lovers!

The Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book is everything a fan of the show could ask for. The book mixes classes cocktail recipes with some new (soon-to-be) favorites! The recipes are primarily Whiskey or Gin based (with a few rum and cognac recipes) and separated out by spirit. Each recipe contains an absolutely gorgeous picture of the final cocktail which definitely gave me something to aspire toward when mixing them up. All of the recipes are simple to follow along with and generally consist of only a two-step process. HUGE BONUS: there are pictures of the cast throughout the book!

Peaky Blinders is a UK television series, currently in its fifth season. The series tells the story the fictional Shelby family, and their criminal exploits, in the immediate aftermath of World War I. The TV show is lauded for its stylish cinematography, and, like the series, The Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book is visually stunning. The photographs of the cocktails align to the period and style of the Peaky Blinders TV series, with vintage-looking glassware, lots of timber and wood elements, bartenders dressed in waistcoats, amber lighting and golden tones. Photographs from the TV series accompany the cocktail photos and recipes. The cocktails are not original/unique to the show (as far as I can tell) - they've renamed classic cocktails (Mr Sabini = a Boulevardier, Changretta = Hanky Panky, Charles Strong = Classic Martini).

The table of contents, and the order of recipes in the book, is sorted by the primary spirit in the cocktails, which fall into three categories: Whiskey, Gin, and Other Spirits. It makes it convenient to flip to the style of cocktail you'd like to make. There are 15 whiskey-based recipes, 15 gin-based recipes, and 10 "other" spirit recipes (generally rum and cognac).

The index lists each cocktail ingredient separately, along with the associated cocktails, so it is easy at a glance to determine what cocktail to make based on flavour profile, or the ingredients on your shelf. The index highlights a gripe I have with a lot of cocktail books; there are quite a few 'one-off' liqueurs and brandies that get used in only one cocktail. To make quite a few of the cocktails, you'll need to purchase ingredients that you probably won't use very often - like elderflower liqueur, peach brandy, cherry liqueur - or will end up throwing out after using 10ml of it (e.g. peach nectar and mango syrup).

I'd also like to see some more information on the show, not just photographs. The book is lacking text specific to the show; there's no mention/introduction to Peaky Blinders and no commentary on the series. Some insights or behind the scenes stories would make it more interesting, and give it more value to fans; something other than just the still frames alongside renamed classic cocktails.

Overall, it is a beautiful book, and I suspect a fan of the Peaky Blinders TV Series would be happy to receive the Peaky Blinders Cocktail Book as a gift.

Decoratively illustrated with lustrous photography of the cocktails. I love the amount of whiskey recipes and, of course, all the tie-in's to the show. The cocktails all look so delicious I can't wait to make some of them at my next party.

I am a big fan of this cocktail book! Each recipe seems approachable because of how they are structure. Further, as a big whiskey and gin fan, I really love that those make the primary sections of this book. It's very easy for a reader to pick up this book and flip through to find a cocktail they can make. The ingredients are straightforward and the estimated preparation time makes it really easy to select a recipe that's right for you. The recipes in this book don't use any frilly or extraordinary liquors, ingredients, or tools. It's all very straight forward. Plus, all the cocktails I've made so far from it have turned out extremely tasty. As an added bonus, there are great pictures from the show throughout and as a big fan of the show itself, I found it to be really nice touch. Can't recommend enough! I look forward to making even more of these cocktails.

Prose (Story): Inspired by the wildly-popular television series, this is an officially-licensed guide to 40 easy-to-make cocktails - divided by three sections: Whiskey, Gin, and Other Spirits - that will make you feel right at home hanging out with the Shelby clan. Also interspersed with photos from the series.

Don's (Review): I'm not even that much of a drinker, but with each turn of the page - featuring the drink recipes on the left and a full-color photo, shot in a very "Peaky" way, on the right - of this gorgeous hardbound book, I found myself wanting to try pretty much each and every one of these amazing-looking/sounding drinks, especially from the Whiskey section. Whether the John Shelby, featuring Chartreuse and Apple Jack and rye whiskey, to the Inspector Campbell sprayed at the end with a mist of absinthe, to the Epsom (featuring gin, Cherry Marnier Liqueur, and one egg white), to Arthur's Coffee (cardamom pods, coffee liqueur, gin and cold espresso) or the amazing-looking Grand Duke (Burgundy wine, Cognac, blackberry liqueur), even a Champagne Cocktail livened up by a quarter of sugar cube and Cognac - each page, each drink takes you right back to the brilliant series and its characters, and pretty much had me salivating on the page. Beautifully done, and a must for any bar or barkeep - not to mention fans of the series! (Available September 22) 5/5 stars

The Peaky Blinders cocktail book is a beautiful cocktail recipe book based upon the Peaky Blinders TV show. This is a quick read but with mouthwatering recipes and stunning photography.
The first 2/3 of the book are cocktails containing Whiskey or Gin (being a huge Gin lover I will definitely be checking a few of the gin cocktail recipes out) and the last third of the book are recipes using other alcoholic ingredients like champagne.
To use this book you will need to buy some basic cocktail making equipment such as a strainer, shaker etc. The recipes and instructions are straight forward and easy to follow.
Throughout the book there are photos of the show which added to the feel of the book but I wish there had maybe been a bit of information on each cocktail in relation to the show and an introduction to the show itself.

A Whiskey Drink, and Then a Gin Drink....

This book has 40 cocktails inspired by the Peaky Blinders television show. In fact, you will find pictures from the show throughout. Most of the cocktail recipes are for either whiskey or gin drinks—two sections of the book are for cocktails just based on those two spirits—but there are a handful of other cocktails that don't have either of these. Some feature rum, cognac, Triple Sec, or something else. The cocktails have relatively few ingredients, but the combinations sound intriguing. You will need some cocktail equipment, as most of these are shaken and strained. Each cocktail has a photograph. Some look quite dramatic, and a few are even beautiful, having different colors than you typically see in cocktails. The only thing this book is missing is extra text. There's no introduction, nothing about the show, and the recipes have no headnotes. I love a cookbook that is also a cracking good read, and you need more text than the recipes for it to be so. All in all, though, if you like either the show or cocktails, you might find this a fun book.
