Description
She's a good girl with the whole world at her feet.
He's a bad boy with his foot on the world.
My best friend calls it a kind of infatuation. Of obsession. There is always one name playing on my lips. . . Max Butcher.
The notorious bad boy of The District.
An unapologetic menace.
Hot to the point of physical discomfort.
Dangerous. . .
So he finds me infuriating and wants to keep me out of his business and both away from him and other men. He wants to protect my body - protect my innocence.
But not even Max Butcher can stick to his guns.
And the further into his world I'm led, the more danger gathers. . .
★ This book can be read without book one ★
What to expect: Single minded infatuation. Possessive alpha male. Sweet yet strong heroine. Steamy scenes. Witty banter. A moving HFN. No cheating. No sharing (Max doesn't share his things). No insta*love. ⚠ Trigger warning. ⚠

"""Max is wow. Lols. I have no words. He is by far one of my favourite book boyfriends. He's sexy, powerful, dangerous. Sweet, romantic, and a listener/compromises. Well, as long as you're Cassidy."" - Author Miranda Grant.
""Where do I even begin? I freaking loved this book! Max is the one, y'all. He's the one. His character was so dynamic, a force to be reckoned with. He's the perfect cocky alphahole that only softens a little for his heroine."" - Noreen from Respect Your Shelves.
""Only Nicci Harris could have me rolling in tears from laughter one minute and then pulling my hair out the next. ""Our Thing"" went from zero to call the fire brigade hot, insanely fast and I loved all the twists and turns and surprises. The premise of one simple act causing a chain reaction of chaos was sheer brilliance."" Jessica from Jessica Reads It.
""Wow. I did enjoy Blesk and Konnor in book one but I LOVE Max and Cassidy. The world isn’t always black and white or good and bad. Max is part of a dark world and Cassidy is in the light, a good girl whom follows the rules until her infatuation with Max mixes it up."" - Samantha.
""Oh my gosh! After I read this I was so torn yet so happy! This story had me from the first chapter! It did not let me go until the very last word! Miss Harris where have you been? I am totally stunned as I write this review! Max and Cassidy well all I can say is WOW! This was something extraordinary! I so fell for this book and my emotions are still in upheaval but oh my gosh this story has emotionally withered me. It is phenomenally written with characters so vibrant that they will grab you and will not let go. The plot is superb and one of the best Mafia Romances I have ever read! Miss Harris you have done an incredible job revealing this series! It is AMAZING! "" - Elsie

Although I did not read the first book, you had me at Mafia, Ballerina, possessive man, and did I say Mafia...
Yes, this had all of that. Strong writing and the promise of more.
Thank you so much NetGalley for this digital ARC! I loved this book. I normally find at least 1 or 2 flaws with every book or something that i wish was different but the only flaw i found with this book was that I didnt read the first book! This book was everything. Love, sex, violence, sexual innuendos,,,whats not to LOVE! Bring it on book 3!
