Description
USA Today bestseller Caitlin Crews returns with All Night Long with a Cowboy," another emotional romance in her stunning cowboy series Kittredge Ranch.
If you play with fire…
One of the most notorious cowboys in Cold River, Jensen Kittredge always has willing women with sweet smiles vying for a place in his bed. So when the prissy high school librarian sidles up to him in the most disreputable bar in town with a scowl on her face, he has no idea what to make of it. Much less the attraction he feels toward the bespectacled creature who wants something from him… but not that. Yet.
Someone gets burned…
Harriett Barnett doesn’t care for dens of iniquity— or the insolent cowboy she certainly shouldn’t find attractive. But one of her students needs her help, and if she needs to corral the infamous Jensen to save him, she will. Trouble is, the town’s favorite Kittredge brother is a lot more than she bargained for. Harriett's happy little life is orderly and neat, just how she likes it—until Jensen blows it all apart with his particular brand of addictive passion. Can a modern-day schoolmarm really tame the wildest cowboy in town? Or is Harriet headed for a terrible fall?

I'm a lover of tropes and this opposites attract between a small town librarian unapologetic about her oddness and the cowboy notorious town's flirt definitely hit all the right spots!
The A+ banter and slowburn between Harriett and Jensen made of this book a real page turner. Playful and hot lovemaking between a virgin heroine that isn't just a clueless spinster—not afraid of getting after what she needs—and the infamous playboy sealed the deal for me. How refreshing!
What's even more refreshing was Harriett's own agency, her determination to stay true to herself and reach for things she wanted made her so endearing to me. I LOVED her.
I certainely very much enjoyed witnessing Jensen—tortured hero hiding behind the town's playboy facade—being brought to his senses by the seemingly innocuous town librarian and loved him for seeing and loving Harriett for who she is.
Bonus points for the very sweet and fulfilling epilogue. Highly recommend!
I’m coming to really love Caitlin Crews’ books! Jensen and Harriet were a severely unlikely pair. Jensen was the consummate bachelor, for reasons that happened when he was practically a kid. Harriet was the stereotypical librarian, and liked it that way. Their story was gripping in that I couldn’t put it down. I wasn’t sure how this would all play out, but the conclusion really had me in the gut.
All Night Long with a Cowboy (Kittredge Ranch, #2) by Caitlin Crews
This is Harriett Barnett (new school librarian) and Jensen Kittredge's ( the most notorious cowboy in Cold River story. He has guilt from his past and she knows she is a little odd and likes it). She needs his help with one of her summer school students and that is when the fun starts. There is guilt, angst, laughter, tears, self discovery and lots of steam getting us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Entertaining Funny Great world building Happily Ever After Page-turner Romantic Steamy Wonderful characters
I loved this addition to the Kittredge Ranch Series. Since this series connects to the author's previous Cold River Ranch series via the Colorado setting and some crossover characters, I will go as far to say that after one of my all-time favorites, A True Cowboy Christmas (Cold River Ranch book 1,) this is a very close second.
A somewhat rigid and proper school librarian matches wits with the charming, easygoing cowboy. I loved that this wasn't a Cinderella-type romance where Harriet got a makeover that magically changed her appearance before Jensen noticed her as attractive or as a romantic possibility. She was a great heroine who was pragmatic and had sound reasons for how she presented herself. Jensen was intrigued and then genuinely attracted to her because of her indifference to clothing, hairstyle, and some other eccentricities. Their romance was sweet and refreshing, as well as surprisingly sexy. There was also a mentor/student story line that was the catalyst for Jensen and Harriet's relationship. That plot line, along with some heartbreaking events from Jensen's past, interwove themselves beautifully throughout the story, lending evocative moments to Harriet and Jensen's romance.
Overall, this is one of the best in the two connected series' with lovely characterizations, romance, and poignancy. Also, a quick note about the ending. I loved the way the author executed the epilogue. It laid out Jensen and Harriet's future in a satisfying and truly heartwarming way. I even cried a little.
Okay. When Harriett Barnett starts talking about a bar as a ‘den of inequity’, I just about lost it. Her intentions are pure – she wants to help a student who has lost his way and had much taken away from him – and she tries to enlist a playboy cowboy, Jenson Kittredge. In the den of inequity.
Of course, these two hit it off, much to the chagrin of both of them. Sometimes the rest of the town. But I loved how they navigated their…relationship. Both Harriett and Jensen are deep feeling individuals and their quirky personalities, although opposite, really work together. I enjoyed the author’s story of how it happened.
There were times I wished Harriett and Jenson just talked to each other. However, there wouldn’t be a story. Good read, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always engaging.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I absolutely love this book. Harriet was a gem and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face when reading. She was a no nonsense breath of fresh air and this was a very well written book. I felt like I really wanted to get to know a real life Harriet.
Jensen and Harriet meet in an unconventional way but Harriet hits Jensen smack dab in the heart with her take charge attitude and teaches Jensen a few things about himself. In turn Harriet opens up and realizes she too can be loved for herself …..no facades.
Great read and I would definitely read this author again.
All Night Long with a Cowboy by Caitlin Crews is a surprisingly sweet story about embracing one’s unique identity and finding love along the way. While it may have a somewhat unfortunate title, don’t be fooled, the characters are satisfyingly complex and it was the perfect way to start off my summer reading after a difficult year surviving Covid in the realm of public education. The main protagonist is a rockstar school librarian and educator. My hero!
This is a funny book. It almost seems stereotypical and a tad bit impossible but it is so much fun. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like an enjoyable read. Jensen Kittredge is a local cowboy/playboy who is just trying to slouch through life pretending nothing matters. Harriett Barnett is a local librarian who thinks things matter a great deal and she is determined to rope Jensen into helping her with a difficult student. It is funny, heartwarming and all comes to a good end.
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
What a great story! It's fun and kept my focus all the way through. A high school librarian who is comfortable enough in her own skin to be different and discerning takes on the local playboy cowboy to help one of her students. What happens is absolutely scandalous! I loved it. I will definitely be reading more from this author!
I do not believe I have ever read anything by this author but I will definitely be reading more of her stories. Romance, humor, believable characters and more. Be sure to check this one out.
I just really enjoyed this book. It was just really easy to get lost in this book. I will definitely be reading more by this author.
This novel left me sighing happily at the end and thinking it was such a lovely read. Harriett reminded me of myself so reading her story was fascinating and entertaining. I loved the verbal sparring between Jensen and Harriett and it was great to see everyone from the prior novels in the series.
Having read book 1 in the Kittredge Ranch series, I welcomed reading "All Night Long with a Cowboy" by Caitlin Crews. I thought this was just a thoroughly enjoyable read for me and once started, I did not put down until finish. I love the fact that Harriet is mistaken to be the stereotypical librarian by Jensen, but however who is very intelligent and determined to get her way when she is on a mission. On the other hand, there is Jensen who for all pretense puts up a good facade of being that good ole rough and tough cowboy but underneath has a heart of gold but doesn't want anyone to know this.
When intelligence meets strength, the boiling pot explodes with two individuals set in their ways and out to get what they want. You have old family generation pitting against what his family looks upon as "new" in the town of Cold River. I loved both the main characters and the banter between the two. The building relationship to love for both of them was nice. As with all my readings, I do like a moderate bit of steamy and it was included in this story. A well-written and lovely story that I recommend the read.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for this ARC for my fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.
This is a sweet western romance turned sultry between an unlikely couple. Harriet seems to be repressed and old fashioned...by outward appearances and Jensen is a flirtatious love ‘em and leave ‘em good ole boy. He hides the fact that he’s still smarting from things long in the past.
When this pair stops dancing around each other, their connection is deep and smokin’ hot. Ms. Crewes tale is hard to put down as she weaves this tale, she combines romance and humor to make this a winner. I received a NetGalley ARC to peruse gratis and offer my opinion freely.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. Harriet is her own woman and doesn't care how she's perceived. She's a fearless librarian on a mission when she confronts Jensen at a country dive bar and changes his life forever. Jensen can have any woman in town, and probably has, but he is at a loss on how to deal with Harriet. His family has been prominent ranchers in town for generations but Jensen puts on a good ol boy act to keep others out of his business. When these two forces collide sparks fly and the chemistry is red hot. Highly recommended.
I have to say this might just be my favorite book in this series! Who knew that Jensen and Harriet would have so much chemistry between them. Lets just say that the chemistry between them was HOT! Harriet was so stern but sweet, so uptight but cool and who knew she had what it took to make Jensen take notice! Jensen was a cowboy who could have any lady he wanted but after Harriet tracked him down in a bar the only lady he wanted was her! This is such a great read. It is funny, sweet, hot and so much more. I can't wait to see what happens with the next brother in this series. They keep getting better and better. Thanks NetGalley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Loved it!! Jensen & Harriet were an odd pairing to start off but with time we got to really see & enjoy what pulled Jensen closer to Harriet even as he fought every step. I loved Harriet’s oddities & how she never cared how people looked at her. I also loved her pure dedication to her job & students, I kind of felt like she should’ve been a teacher instead of a librarian. We always knew something in Jensen’s past had created this solitary man with the mind that he didn’t deserve a happy life, but actually finding out what it was brought heartbreak for all. I especially enjoyed when Harriet was done with the women feeling sorry for her & took matters into her own hands by not just trying to seduce Jensen but being herself & demanding his full attention......that’s was memorable. The addition of Aidan Hall into their lives was greatly needed. This surly & troubled teenager in need of help & guidance pulled Jensen & Harriet even further together & the never ending question Aidan had that Jensen might actually be his father was interesting. What made it even more was that Jensen finally realized that he wished he was for the boys sake. Definitely recommend. Thank you to the publisher & Net Galley for letting me read this book for an honest review.
There are some couples that you could just read about forever. Jensen and Harriet are like that for me. Jensen is Cold River's resident playboy. He's always been the class clown and is very happy being underestimated by the town and his family. No commitments - no expectations are pretty much his life mantras. Harriet is basically his polar opposite. She is secure in who she is and that is a librarian who loves working with teenagers and is wholly uninterested in what anyone else thinks of her. She dresses in her own style - what most people would consider frumpy or old lady like - and spends most of her time reading, knitting, and taking care of her five cats.
The one thing Jensen and Harriet share is a complete and total acceptance of who they are as people. But when they come together - they both seem to inspire each other to stretch and change. Not who they are - but what they can be to each other. Throughout the course of the book - they both end up defying everyone's expectations - and maybe even their own.
This book gave me all the feels. Harriet is just -everything. She is different and embraces her differences. I will say - the very very best thing about this book is that there is no girlfriend makeover of Harriet. Any changes she makes about the way she looks comes from within her, not from anyone else making the change. There are no moments of "wow, I look beautiful, I didn't think I could" or anything like that. And THAT is awesome. Jensen falls for her exactly as she is - and doesn't need her to change anything about herself to make him notice her or want her. There is also no makeover of Jensen. He's not a reformed bad boy - he's just Jensen.
I'd rank this book as top tier in any category of romance - so even if small town romances aren't your thing - this is one you shouldn't miss.
I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

You know when you pick up a book and the scenario is one of your favorites and you think, "Maybe this one will be pretty good?" You've read the author and enjoyed most of her books and believe it won't be horrible or average? With me so far? Well, I got a huge surprise! THIS BOOK IS FREAKING AMAZING AND BLEW ALL MY CONCEPTIONS OUT OF THE WATER!!! (she screamed at the top of her voice). I loved Harriett so much that I want to be her when I grow up. Nodding head vigorously! (Yes, I do). I settled in and just read and read and read some more. And every page was just better than the last one. Man, I LOVE when that happens.
Jensen's like Shrek. He has layers. Many, many layers. I could have been irritated with him in the beginning except Harriett was so awesome and put him in his place and that was hysterical in and of itself. I enjoyed how Jensen wasn't bothered by Harriett's .... oddness. That helped to seal his fate in my mind. Winner!!!!
My only caveat ...... Make sure you have plenty of time to read. With no distractions. You'll thank me. Wish someone would've warned me. I could've read it in one sitting had I the time. - and was fussing that I didn't. Great novel Ms. Crews!!!
This is a Cowboy Romance, and this is the second book in the Kittredge Ranch series. This book is all about what happens when the weird librarian meets the town Cowboy playboy. The characters in this book was very developed, and I really loved Harriett the Librarian. There is some steamy times in this book. I loved the romance in this book, and I really enjoyed reading this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (St. Martin's Press) or author (Caitlin Crews) via NetGalley, so I can give honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on August 24-2021.
This is such a cool book. I loved how the vocabulary the author uses plays with that of the teo main characters. It is not your usual “cowboy” story and delightfully not. Great dialog, great plot and great characters combine for a unique and refreshing story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I always love to come back to Cold River and this story so did not disappoint. I loved it it was such a great enjoyable read. Harriet and Jansen could not be more opposite but as know opposites attract and boy do their attraction burns. I loved how their relationship starts, develops, and ends. We see how the others in Cold River are doing and it makes everything more enjoyable. Definitely a recommended read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
