The Cleaner

Bertram and his three friends have formed a small gang of thieves called The Ravens. Bertram lives alone with his mum, who works as a waitress. He doesn´t remember his father much, since he was only seven when his dad was arrested for murder and sentenced to life in prison.

One day, Bertram steals an expensive leather jacket from a restaurant, a seemingly minor act which will turn out to have fatal consequences, and not just for Bertram.

Rolando Benito, an investigator at the Police Complaints Authority, is sent out to question two police officers who witnessed a prison guard jumping to his death from his fourth floor window at the exact moment they showed up to investigate a noise complaint that had been made concerning loud music coming out of his apartment. At face value, this looks like a suicide, but rumour has it that a prisoner has died in the prison the man worked in, and that the prison guard had felt threated and persecuted. Is the case really as clear cut as it first seems?

Anne Larsen, a television journalist, doesn't think so. She is also investigating the case where everyone and everything seems to be connected to one prisoner: the murderer Patrick Asp, who killed his own infant baby who is imprisoned at the jail prison guard worked at.

As more mysterious deaths pile up, and a Supreme Court judge disappears without a trace, Rolando Benito and Anne Larsen team up in search of a connection. That link turns out to be Bertram and the theft of the jacket, and now Anne's head in on the line as well...
