Description
FBI-profiler Eva Rae Thomas faces a devious plan in multi-million-copy bestselling author Willow Rose’s blood-rushing thriller of murder and revenge.
A girl falls from the penthouse floor of an apartment in Washington, D.C.
Media Mogul Richard Wanton owns the apartment and is seen standing on the balcony when the girl falls.
He is accused of killing her, but the FBI struggles to find enough solid evidence to convict him.
They have a witness, someone who was in the apartment when it happened, but she doesn’t want to talk to them.
She’ll only speak to one person, ex-FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas. The problem is, Eva Rae Thomas has no interest in talking to her.
As a matter of fact, she’d rather see this woman dead than have to face her.
But Eva Rae Thomas isn’t someone who can leave a case alone, especially not when she starts to ask questions and things aren’t adding up.
As she digs in deeper—with the entire world watching—she soon finds herself in too deep and realizes she can’t trust anyone’s motives.
But by then, it is too late, and the killer is already tracking her down.

The plot line was fresh, original and exciting and definitely kept the twists, turns and surprises coming. The characters were complex, completely polarizing and full of depth.
And, not only was this a very well-written book overall, but the suspense builds at just the right pace as the mesmerizing story unfolds.

What a delight to read a book with such great twists! Truly holds a reader's interest.
This is a dark story, because it's a dark subject, and many kudos to Willow Rose for tackling it. Especially when you learn that it's based on her own experience! Rape is much more common than we would realize, and I agree with the author that this story needed to be told.

“The women you used, the ones you destroyed, we are still here, and there are many of us. And now, we’re coming for you.”- Quote from the book.
Eva Rae is pulled into a dangerous situation once again... An unsavory acquaintance, from a devastating relationship in Eva Rae's past, comes back to haunt Eva Rae when she's contacted regarding an ongoing homicide investigation. Her refusal to assist becomes the catalyst for what follows…
A dark, intense thriller that will leave you in suspense until the very end!

Based on a true and painful story of sexual abuse of women by powerful men.
I was totally immersed in this brilliantly written story. Much respect to Willow for her strength and bravery in penning this story.

OMG, Willow! I wished we had the option to give you more stars. I would certainly give much more!
This book hits on a subject that gets swept under the rug more times than we can count and it is really sad that it does!
You all need to read this awesome book. Bravo to you Willow for taking a stand. Thanks for writing such a fantastic book!

A riveting tale with the usual plot twists and surprise ending. A tale that mimics true life all too well. A story that needs to be told.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Power punch story from the beginning.
Definitely a winner to read. Loved it.

This book is another winner.
The author has experienced abuse, as described in this book, as have many other women.
The storyline that Willow Rose has developed is engrossing, well written and well thought out.
You will be on the edge of your seat with all the twists in this story.

Wow!! What a heartfelt story! This book gave me all the feels!! And chills! This book had suspense, action, intrigue and wow what a storyline! I gotta say you have to read the authors words after the ending! You go girl! I'm so glad you pulled yourself out of that rut and told your story! This kind of thing happens so much in this world and yes! The woman, almost always thinks its something she did! Anyway this book was awesome! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! And a big thank you to Willow Rose for your amazing words!
Interesting and original plot. Plenty of twists and turns to keep it exciting and an ending that came as a surprise. I really like this author and this book did not disappoint. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.
The most unexpected part of this book was how much it kept me hooked. How much it reached out to me. How much I loved it. There was also another unexpected thing at the end which I am going to talk about later.
Trigger warning: Sexual assaults
The Plot:
Surprises! Surprises at every corner!
This review is already starting to be vain with my talking’s of it unexpected tints. But tough times call for tough measure.
The book starts with two police officers witnessing the death of a young woman along with the possible ‘murderer’. Except there is no evidence against him. Later in the novel, we have a possible witness for the dead woman- Samantha with alleged proof, few betrayals, trust, confusion, sexual assaults (this is a huge part of the story line which was really hard to rea. I felt like crying.), unity, feminism, women helping each other (I loved that part), more confusion and finally the ending. The ending was just so beautiful and I do hope he got what he deserved. It was so unexpected, so lovely, so thrilling and probably my favorite part of the whole book. Standing up for yourself is hard and seeing so many women doing it, broke my heart. In a good way.
The Writing:
I enjoyed every line of the book. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. The writing felt personal which touched my heart. One of the few books that kept me hooked from the very first line.
Characters:
Eva Rae Thomas:-
This is the only character we get from first person’s point of view which I adored every letter of. Undoubtedly, this is one of my favorite characters in this book. She is brave, fearless and a daring character. She helps in solving the mystery we are hit with in the book and Man! Is she a detective. Her logics are just classic. She should be given an award for it.
Kimmie:-
She is honestly so strong. What she had to withstand- alone is something that no women, no person should ever experience. Hands down she is a great character. A wonderful woman. And a caring mother.
Richard Wanton:-
The most disgusting -should be executed- piece of waste I have ever seen. He made me so sick and the thought that many had to go through the same experience as the women he tortured makes me sicker. He is a vile creature who ruined the lives of many women and death is a mere mercy for him!
Rachel:-
Rachel is first introduced when she starts having a panic attack. Yup! A great way to introduce a character but the action that triggers this reaction is what hurt me the most. She is a victim too! Her action at the end of the book is strong and the right thing to do. I loved her character development.
Crystal:-
IN THIS WORLD, WOMEN STAND UP FOR OTHER WOMEN! NOT TRY TO BRING THEM DOWN! NOT SILENCE THEM! NOT ERADICATE THEIR RIGHTS! And Miss Crystal right here is a worst example for a woman.
Carol:-
She has my respect. Her actions are just so magnificent. In the beginning I thought she was just a woman who was ‘mildly concerned’ that her husband was having an affair. Boy was I wrong! She is an extraordinary person to have born on this earth.
My thoughts:-
Concluding, this definitely is one of the best mystery/thriller novels I have ever read. This a must-read book. No doubt there.
The book was a fast paced thriller. Especially in the times of #MeToo this book is highly relevant. It’s also very disturbing to think that all these power games still happen in every sector of job life, not only for women but even for men.
With regards to the book, very easy to read language, instantly you will connect with the characters and you will root for the women to win who were victim of workplace abuse.
Eva is asked to come to D.C. by a friend at the FBI. When she arrives Eva is shown why she was asked to come to D.C. and in the next room is the woman who ruined her life. Asking for her help. I like Eva Rae, a badass mom. This book had me gripped to my seat from the prologue. This book is full of action, twists and turned. I had missed reading some of the books between book 1 and this book. I'll be going back to read them all. Willow Rose has become one of my new favorite authors.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book!
I actually had not heard of this author before, so her writing style was completely new to me. I enjoyed the suspense, and the way Willow Rose surprised us at every corner. Just when you don't expect something, it happens and throws you off from whatever you were previously thinking. The book is fast-paced and keeps you on edge the entire time.
As someone who has not read any of the other books in this series, I wasn't confused and could easily follow along (in case anyone was concerned about that). So, I'd absolutely recommend this book for anyone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and these are my own opinions.
I was so thrilled to read the next book in Eva Rae Thomas series.....this was a book with a bit more serious content. I breezed through it quickly and after reading the Author Willow Roses comments at the end, the story took on even more meaning.....how brave to write about her experiences in this newest novel....the story still had its quirky moments and Eva Rae saves the day. This time though she comes to terms with her past and confronting the one person she has no love for.....the woman she blames for breaking up her marriage.
I hope there will be a book 10 in the series, I want to know what happens next in Eva Raes personal life and if she ever finds a way to balance family and work.
I have not had an opportunity to read one of Willow Rose books, until this one. Why haven't I read one??? If the other books are half as good as this one, I have missed out, on quite a bit in the literary world. This is a fast paced movie that will hook you in the first couple pages. I truly thought I had it figured out. I was so wrong. Great story, which also seems there maybe some truth to it. It will make you rethink your decisions on trusting people who you meet in life and work with. Great book, I am ordering the rest of these. I can not wait for her to release more.
This story had me in it's grip from the first page to the last. To know that something like this happened to the author made it more real. For a man to prey on women like one of the characters did, makes him a disgusting excuse for a human. Even though Eva Rae didn't want the job protecting a witness, she changed her mind and took the job. I recommend this book for every woman to read and men who sympathize what some women go through for their careers.
Winner winner with political intrigue as the gripper? It sure catches your attention and keeps you reading. Fast-paced you won’t want to put it down.
I really enjoyed this book. This is my first time reading a book by this author. The book follows ex-FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas. She is called by her friend in the FBI to interview a client that is the only witness to the murder of 20 year old Samantha by Media Mogul Richard Wanton that refuses to speak to anyone but her. Once she gets there is finds out it is Kimmie who slept with Eva Rae's ex husband while they were still married and broke up the family. She refuses at first to help but changes her mind after her teenager daughter shames her into helping due to the daughter being friends with Kimmie's son. This is really fast paced read and keeps you on hook from the beginning to end. I never guessed the ending and was completely surprised.
I received this ARC for my honest review from Netgalley.
I have not read any of the previous books in the Eva Rae Thomas series, but this one reads well as a standalone book.
It's a fast paced thriller that has been heavily inspired by the metoo-movement and the Weinstein affair. It's well done, and I think the author does a good job portraying the women involved. I also highly recommend reading the postscript of the book where WR talks about why she wrote this book.
As a small but interesting aside, I believe this is the first fiction book I have read that actually mentions covid and the related lockdowns. It's only a small detail in the book, but I imagine that we'll see more references to the pandemic in future literature.
Note: I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review.
I've read Willow Rose's work before and this book lives up to the usual standard. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
A fast paced story of the unfortunate sexual harassment, even rape, that happens to women trying to make it in the work world. Eva Rae, ex FBI profiler is asked to help with a case. A woman, Kimmie, will only speak with Eva, but when Eva finds out who it is - the woman who had an affair with Eva’s husband ending their marriage - she refuses to help. Her daughter pleads with her to help as Kimmie’s son is her daughter friend so she finally agrees to hear her out. Then leaves, she did her part. and wanting to be away from the whole thing she goes back to her children. Then someone tries to kill Kimmie and her son and Eva finds she has to step in and try and keep Kimmie alive as the hired killers will stop at nothing to silence Kimmie. A race to keep them alive until trial for murder the CEO is facing when a 20 year old girl plunged to her death from his rooftop. Barely keeping ahead of the killers and wondering just how they keep finding them Eva Rae knows there has to be a FBI leak. Excellent writing I recommend this book. Get the word out so others know it ok to talk. I was sad to hear that the author went through a similar situation and glad she is such a strong person to speak out and help make the changes that are necessary. I was given this book for my honest opinion, I think everyone should read this story and keep their eyes open and speak up when necessary.
I enjoyed this book so much! I haven't read the series, sadly. I realized it was a series once I'd looked it up. But, even if I haven't read it; it's really good. I will read the beginning books, but let's just say this gave me a good look at how the series is.
Another hit by Willow Rose! I was on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last! I love all of the books in Eva Rae Thomas Mystery but Such A Good Girl is my favorite as of now!
Eva Rae Thomas, a former FBI profiler, is asked by her former boss to assist in a case where the only witness insists she won’t talk to anyone but Eva. The witness ends up being Kimmie, the woman who broke up Eva’s marriage, and Eva wants nothing to do with her. Her daughter is friends with Kimmie’s son, though, and she begs her mother to help them. So begins Eva’s search for the truth. Drama, suspense, twists and turns, secrets, lies, danger. Men in powerful positions thinking they can get away with anything and not caring who they hurt along the way. Will Eva and Kimmie manage to stay alive long enough to bring that truth to court? A gripping story.
Eva's dad and her former mother-in-law are interesting characters.
As much as I liked the story, I honestly don’t think any judge would allow an interruption in the courtroom. I would think the judge would call for a break and take the lawyers into the judge’s chambers to find out exactly what was going on. I was given a free ebook for review by NetGalley. The opinions stated are my own.
This is the ninth book in the Eva Rae Thomas mystery series by Willow Rose. The books are exciting and interesting and this one is no different. Willow Rose writes her books with a primary and a secondary story that tie together near the end.
A girl falls from the penthouse floor of an apartment in Washington, D.C. The FBI calls Eva Rae and tells her they need her help. With a newborn to worry about she isn't really interested, but is told the witness will only speak to her. The problem is Eva Rae has no intention of listening to her since Kimmie is the reason her former husband left her.
There are many twists to the story and Eva Rae will wonder who can she trust.
Eva Rae Thomas is a former FBI profiler who is called back to DC by her former supervisor to help with a high profile case. The person she has to interview is none other than the woman with whom her ex-husband cheated on her before she quit and moved back to Florida. She really has no desire to help this person.
I'll just stop right here and say that I chose 4 of Willow Rose's books to review, never having heard of this author before, but always a fan of a good law enforcement story. Wow! I was hooked immediately. I then discovered that Ms. Rose is a prolific writer and proceeded to order all her books from 3 of her series so I could read the WHOLE story. I had a reading marathon. I am hooked and can't wait to read more. Highly recommend anything by this author!
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I don’t think I read the previous versions of this book but I was still able to follow along with the story. It was written well and I had to find out what happened next.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. A woman is thrown from a high rise to her death. The prime suspects is Richard Wanton who is very rich. It is up to Eva Rae who is a profiler to talk to a witness and get some answers. This book captured my attention from the start
This is a great suspenseful book and I was excited to read it when I picked it up. The author's ability to pull you into the story is awesome along with her attention to details that make her stories realistic. The characters are connectable and give life to the story. This is a faster paced story that kept me engaged and turning pages to the end. The twists and turns kept me wanting to know what would happen next. This book is part of the Eva Rae Thomos series that I highly suggest you go back and read the previous books. I really enjoyed this book and this author. I highly recommend this book.
Wow! This story is about women working in TV network and how as interns they are compromised by those who are in a position to make their career a success or not. Samantha is the latest in a long line of young ladies who are effected by what these men do that make them see themselves differently than they should. It is also about Eva Rae and the woman who broke up her marriage. Willow Rose did a very good job of presenting this story.
Willow Rose tackles not only murder in Such A Good Girl, but how one person can have an impact on so many women’s lives. Rose utilizes the #metoo movement to not only showcase what happens to women in the workplace, but as a reflection of her own life. I find it fascinating that Rose chose to do this through a character we have all come to dislike through Eva Rae. What happened earlier on in this human’s life ended up impacting their life forever.
Rose does not let us drown in this trauma, but sets Thomas off after a murderer...or two. Until finally she is on the run from a number of killers with no support system in site. Thomas ends up having to call upon people we have only heard about so far and their impact on the story is unique.
The mystery is a familiar one if you turn on the television, but Rose manages as always to find fresh ways to kill someone (laugh). I love the mystery. The emotional struggle that Thomas goes through we can all understand.
Such A Good Girl is an outstanding mystery and message for people everywhere. I love Eva Rae Thomas and if you haven’t read any of her books, that is okay. This book can be read as a standalone as Eva Rae is basically working on her own and with new characters. Now would be great time for you to spend time with Such A Good Girl.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
Love love loved this book - I’m a huge procedural fan and LOVE criminal minds - so this mystery book following Agent Thomas as she tries to find Kimmie, backtracking to the story of Samantha and everything in between. Great, captivating book and would absolutely recommend for any fans of Karin slaughter, thrillers and more.
I received this book from the publishers via Netgalley for a review. What a story. A hard subject well told, could not put it down. Well done Willow on what must have been hard to write (all will become clear on the afterword).
As I read I was getting confused with all the different characters. I realized that these women were integral to the story. Richard Wanton was evil. All of the women were needed to come together to prove him guilty. I like the separate chapters for each character.
Excellent story! How can she even consider helping the woman that destroyed her marriage? Yet she has been called in to help solve a crime. The book is interesting and fast paced. I was pulled in right away and couldn't put the book down. I just had to know the ending. I loved it!
I received this book through "NetGalley's" Read Now Program.
This story will get your attention right from the beginning. It starts with a women falling from a balcony which happens to be witnessed by the police. They immediately go to the apartment where the victim died. The owner of the apartment was arrested and a second individual was brought in for questioning by the FBI. This individual told them that she would only talk to Eva Thomas. Eva is requested to come to Washington, D.C. but she is not given any information. Once she arrives and discovers who the person that wanted to talk to her, she got up and left. The two had a prior history between them. Eventually Eva talked to the witness and then left to return home. Later, Eva discovers that Kimmie, the witness, has disappeared. Eva winds up going to find her and when she does, discovers that someone was trying to kill her. Eva is too late and Kimmie is shot and rushed to the hospital.
Eva is told that Kimmie had died while she was in surgery. Eva felt bad because she allowed it to happen and carried the guilt. As time went by, Eva learned that Kimmie's son had been seen in a social media sight. AS Eva tried to get information from the FBI she was stonewalled and could get no answers. Eva pursued trying to identify the location where the son had been seen. After finding the location, she went and made a surprising discovery,
To discover what Eva found, how the trial related to the woman falling and other interesting facts, then you need to read this book. You won't be disappointed.
I discovered Willow Rose on NetGalley and cannot wait to read each and every one of her novels now. "SUCH A GOOD GIRL" is a light, easy read but full of suspense. I loved this novel so much, and highly recommend you find her novels and sit down for a long read!
A disturbingly realistic tale about misogyny and abuse. In fact, in the afterward, the author admits to basing some of the situations on personal experience. Kudos to her for outing her abusers. I find this author’s books are best to read in one sitting. This story is told in many different POVs so I find I get into a groove and can more easily identify the voice when I read it in one go. An emotional read that may have triggers for some readers because of the subject matter.
When I think of thrilling reads, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels, thrills and can satisfies just about every reader's heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day.
The book may be trigger inducing for some readers.
This one was such a good read. Incredibly intriguing and kept me hooked. The characters and the plot were awesome!
Such a great read.
DUDE!
This was a fast-paced, addictive read that had me sucked in from the very beginning. And the only thing that made me put my Kindle down when I started reading this was the desperate need for sleep!
Fresh, original, and exciting plotline. There were definitely twists, turns, and surprises. The characters were intriguing, polarizing, and deep.
In addition to being well-written, the suspense builds at just the right pace as the mesmerizing story unfolds.
Great read! Has all the right suspense and who did it. Follow Eva as she is persuaded to help in a case where the witness is someone she has hated for years! Can she protect this person or will she be the cause of their death?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Four stars! This is another page turner in the Eva Rae Thomas series by Willow Rose! There are many twists and turn with a surprise at the end.
The book does have triggers as it describes scenes of rape and intimidation.
The story is one that happens way too often with women being preyed on by men in authority. The author uses her personal experiences to weave the stories of Samantha, Kimmie, Rachel, and others who have been sexually assaulted by Wanton the CEO and others in a position of power in a TV news station.
When Samantha is seen falling off a high ruse by the local police, Wanton is arrested for murder.
Eva Rae is contacted by a former coworker at the FBI to interview a witness that will only talk to her. This leads to her facing someone from her past that she doesn’t want to deal with, being on the run with the witness, and being hunted by hit men. All she wants is the truth.
Kudos to Willow Rose for using her personal experience to weave a story that needs to be told.
Thank you #NetGalley and #bouymedia for the opportunity to review.
