YUMMY ! This book is full of great recipes, from classic chocolate-chips cookies to red velvet cookies.
Measurements are available in the US system as well as metric, which is super useful, and the recipes are detailed and easy to follow.
This is a great book if you like sweet food and want to discover new flavors.
Get ready to unleash your inner Cookie Monster and nosh til you drop with Live Well Bake Cookies.
Considering this cookbook is guided to a very specific type of baking I was a little worried upon requesting it, that it would be a little lackluster, but nothing could have been further from the reality once I cracked into this one. If you’re a cookie lover, passing this title up might well be considered a mortal sin…be warned! The cookbook starts off with the classics, then expands into several varieties of each to provide a good deal of variety and plenty of recipes to keep your kitchen humming. One of the best features of this title was that it included several small batch recipes, which are so often lacking in cookbooks. Considering my wife and I bake together for just ourselves, we always hate having to waste what we make. Crisis averted in this instance.
The recipes we tried (special shout out to the red velvet whoopie pies!) were on point and not too difficult to manage, so I could see beginners utilizing this cookbook with ease which further increases the utility.
Overall this is a 5/5 can’t miss for cookie lovers, bakers, and sweet tooths all over!
Can’t wait to try nearly every recipe in this book, each recipe is well written, easy to understand and clear instructions. The pictures draw you in and make you want to bake them all now. Definitely a great book for those with a sweet tooth who like to bake, those starting their baking journey and those experienced bakers, this is a great book for all
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
I received Live Well Bake Cookies as part of a NetGalley giveaway.
Danielle Rye is a blogger at Live Well Bake Often, where she demonstrates her skill at not only cookies but cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and more. Live Well Bake Cookies is a compendium of some of her favorite cookie recipes for the home chef.
Loved this book--it's hard not to love a cookie cookbook, after all, and there's something here for every taste and occasion. The flavors are fairly classic (chocolate, peanut butter, oatmeal, sugar, etc.) and the recipes straightforward, making for a great starter cookbook for the aspiring cookie chef. Looking forward to using some of these for the holiday season in particular (which will be here before we know it!).
I love baking - and love a good cookie recipe... this book is absolute perfection!!
There are so many recipes inside this book, it is absolutely full to the brim with new ideas to try. I love the way it goes from the generic/basic ideas that we have all heard of - to more abstract and crazy ideas. I cannot wait to try more of these recipes out.
I like the way the book starts by explaining the basic ingredients, and helping your prepare your store cupboard - also learning more about what the ingredients do within the recipe too (the purpose/the science behind them.)
The photography in the book is beautiful too.
Cannot recommend this book enough - I was lucky enough to get an early electronic copy of this book, but will 100% be ordering the physical copy for when it is released later on in the year!!
Live Well Bake Cookies by Danielle Rye is full to bursting with fantastic cookie recipes! Easy to follow instructions, with measurements for both metric systems for ease of use. There are many different kinds of recipes from bog standard chocolate cookies to the more complicated pinwheels. The pictures make the cookies look so appetising too.
Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Rye, and Quarto Publishing Group- Rock Point for sending me a free ARC copy of Live Well Bake Cookies in exchange for an honest review.
This book has 75 cookie and bar recipes for readers, which includes your classic gotos and some more adventurous flavors that will surely deliver! The book has beautiful photos of each cookie/bar and the recipes are clear and easy to read. As an amateur baker, I appreciated that the book included a tips & tricks section that offered some troubleshooting advice as well as storage/freezing options. The small batch recipes were also a huge plus!
The recipes I’m most excited to try are the cookies and cream cookies, maple glazed oatmeal cookies, and the salted caramel chocolate chip cookie bars! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. There is definitely something for everyone in this book!
As a decent baker I am always on the lookout for cookie recipes and this cookbook does not disappoint. I especially appreciate the small batch recipes that are included. Clear instructions with beautiful pictures, can’t wait to try the gingerdoodles.
I'm a glutton for punishment because I can't even eat stuff like this, but had to check out this cookbook! Boy, it does not disappoint! Each recipe has gorgeous pictures of any type of cookie you can imagine. The basics to iced poppy seed lemon to peanut butter no bake cookies to flourless varieties and on and on. All of the kinds! There are no nutrition facts, and trust me, with the amount of sugar used, you probably don't want to know. However, for what the cover and description indicates, it fits the bill, and is a very well done cookbook!
If you love baking cookies this is the book for you. Over 75 different cookies are included. The author includes something that is very helpful to both the beginning baker and the seasoned baker, a troubleshooting section. Even if you are an experienced baker having some of those problems talked about can be helpful. There are recipes I'm sure you've seen before like chocolate chips cookies but who can't use another one. She includes some pro baking tips that will have you baking like a pro in no time. Recipes are divided into categories such as classic, oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, holiday, seasonal and Christmas cookies. There's something for everyone.
This gorgeous new cookbook is a must-have for cookie enthusiasts! 75 recipes for any cookie you can imagine, as well as some new varieties you haven’t met yet. There are recipes for cookies, bars, whoopie pies, no bake cookies, and even edible cookie dough! And the best part – every single recipe is accompanied by a mouth-watering photo! There are also lots of useful tips for trouble-shooting, as well as making ahead, freezing, and storing your baked goodies.
This cookbook is well-organized, starting with the classics, moving on to main ingredient chapters (chocolate, oatmeal, peanut butter, etc), and finishing up with special occasion and Christmas cookies. The book also includes several flourless recipes for gluten free folks. My favorite section was Fun Flavor Combinations, which includes creative concoctions I can’t wait to try – brown butter butterscotch oatmeal, blueberry muffin top cookies, and iced lemon poppyseed, just to name a few!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point for providing me an advance copy of this cookbook in exchange for an honest review.
This book has every cookie recipe you could want or need especially if you want to try your hand at some American favourites. With lovely photos (so you know what they should look like) to clear instructions and loads of tips at the start this is a great recipe book for cookies. I am looking forward to trying a few more out including, the American favourite, snickerdoodles..
Hi everyone!
This book offers 75 wonderful cookies and bars recipes.
The layout is very pretty, even if the chapter pages are hard to read because of the pattern underneath the letters.
The recipes are easy to follow and I love that they have both measurement types (cups and grams).
At the beginning there is also a small introduction to the ingredients and in some pages there are also helpful tips.
The thing that I really appreciated is that Every Single Recipe has a mouthwatering photo that shows you what the cookies are going to look like.
In conclusion the book is full of amazing recipes and I would love to buy a physical copy of it.
I will also look up the blog of the author ‘live well bake often’.
I really liked this cookbook! I don't eat eggs or dairy and these cookie recipes were really easy to turn into vegan versions. I also really like the variety of cookies within the book., there is surely a cookie that everyone can like in this book. The batches are pretty big for most of the recipes but there are a few that are for small batches. Overall the book was well written and provided a lot of tips on baking cookies I especially thought the packaging to mail cookies was a fun addition.
This is an amazing cookbook that has 75 different cookie and bar recipes. There is literally every cookie you can think of- including holiday cookies! The recipes are laid out with step by step instructions so any beginner can easily make the recipes!
My favorite part of the cookbook is that there are pictures of the specific dessert on every recipe- so you know exactly what it will look like, which I love!
My toddler and I made the “Thick Chocolate Chunk” cookies and they were so delicious! Super thick cookies but still gooey on the inside. Highly recommend!
Oh what a joy to find a cookbook with gorgeous, mouthwatering photos accompanying every recipe! Live Well Bake Cookies is full of classic recipes with clear instructions that will make it easy for home bakers to follow. There are also a few new flavor combinations to try and small batch recipes, too. This would make a great holiday gift for cookie enthusiasts. I'll be adding this to my home library for sure!
Thank you to Rock Point and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my review.
Caution! This book will make you hungry. There are 75 cookie recipes and I want to try all of them. Included are recipes for everything from Chocolate Chip to Oatmeal Raisin to Peanut Butter to Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Snickerdoodles, Shortbread, Chocolate Chunk, Thumbprints and Small Batch Cookies…and that is just the recipes listed in the first column of the table of contents.
Before bakers get to the recipes, there are several helpful sections at the beginning of the book. These cover such topics as Tools and Equipment, Troubleshooting and more.
I was not familiar with the author before looking at this title, She is a blogger and expert baker from what I can see.
This looks like just the book for a baker you know, even yourself!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
Easy to make cookie recipes that use ingredients normally kept in the average kitchen. I love the way the book and recipes are organized. Of course, the cookies are delicious. A perfect gift for bakers and non-bakers alike.
I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.
This was a solid cookie recipe book. I would recommend for novice bakers as the recipes are pretty basic. All of your favorite cookie recipes can definitely be found in this book.
When I saw this on NetGalley I knew, as a cookie lover, that I had to request it, and I was not disappointed.
Let's start with the title, which is adorable. I think it was the amazing cover that drew me to the book first, but the title really solidified it.
So what kind of goodies are inside? Well, there's classic, chocolate, nutty, oatmeal, festive, jam and brownie cookies. Along with small batch recipes and some I've never even heard the name of!
Seriously, up until I started reading this book, I had no idea whoopie pies were called that in English. You learn something new every day. So they're definitely high on my priority baking list.
Every recipe is accompanied by a beautiful picture, so you know what it's supposed to look like and you're not going in blind. There's also baking tips, and problem solving advice to go with.
The recipe I chose to try first is called Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies since I already had all the ingredients at home. I just replaced whole milk with vanilla soy milk and the butter with soy butter and voilà!
I will admit, that I went more with feeling than the exact measurements for things like peanut butter, butter and oats and it didn't turn out to be a problem. However, if you're new to cooking/baking then I'd suggest you follow the measurements to a T.
The time frame given for the recipe was completely accurate too. How? I have no clue. But good job!
So how did my cookies turn out you ask? DELICIOUS!
I rolled them into little semi-flat balls by hand so some came out bigger than others and I got 29 total. The recipe says around 32-34 cookies which would've been my case too if I used a scoop.
What I really like, is that while I was rolling the second half of the cookies, the first half was already starting to firm up nicely. I'll definitely be making more of these in the future, they're so fun.
I'd like to go through all the recipes in this book, and perhaps I will, bit by bit. The instructions are so clear and made easy for everyone to follow them.
You know what you have to do now. Buy this book. Yes. Do it. Join the club.
*Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
This is one of the beat baking books I have ever seen. It is the first time, I have looked at a whole recipe book and realised that I want to bake EVERYTHING!!! The book has beautiful pictures next to each recipe and easy instructions with lots of hints and tips. At the beginning is an explanation of how to bake, freeze and prepare and what essentials you need. I've cooked the shortbread and the choc chip cookies so far and they were incredible. I can't wait to buy the hard copy of this! Me and my children are going to work out way through the book.
LIVE WELL: BAKE COOKIES starts off with an introduction from Danielle Rye, who then fills readers in on the basic ingredients needed for cookie baking, helpful to essential tools and kitchen equipment, all the way through to freezing instructions, to packing and shipping. Rye sets you up to win at making the best cookies you can bake.
Mouthwatering cookie recipes include such as . . . Chocolate Chip, White Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate, and Shortbread, Iced Oatmeal, Banana Oatmeal, Carrot Cake Oatmeal, and Lemon Blueberry Oatmeal, Edible Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter and Jelly Thumbprints, Peanut Butter No-Bake, Brownie Cookies, Chocolate Cutout Sugar, Chocolate Orange, Toasted Coconut Snowballs, Brown Butter Butterscotch Oatmeal, Butter Pecan, Strawberry Shortcake Cookies, Cherry Cheesecake Sugar Cookie Cups, Red Velvet, Lucky Charms, and so much more. I’ve hardly scratched the surface of the recipes included. And there’s a chapter on Christmas cookies!
Photos have always gone a long way in selling me on a cookbook. I was thrilled to see every cookie in this book came with a full color photo of each delicious treat.
You can never have enough cookie recipe books. So, if you’re looking to add another to your collection, LIVE WELL: BAKE COOKIES is the book you need!
I really enjoyed that there are recipes for classic cookies in here instead of over-the-top "new" cookie ideas. It's always good to get back to the basics sometimes.
The cover drew me to request this book, because the cookies on the front look so delicious. I love how the book is full of tips and hints as well as proper photos, I think this is a must with a cookbook as at least you can then hopefully get a result like the photo. I love how you don't need to convert the measurements as they give cups and grams, meaning no matter where you live this cookbook is brilliant. I like how the book is spilt in to sections of different types of cookies. I can't wait to give some of these recipes a try. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Live Well Bake Cookies by Danielle Rye is a mouth watering book with 75 recipes for classic cookies, bars and more adventurous biscuits. The recipes are easy to follow with lovely pictures, and measurement for both sides of the pond are included. It is a lovely book to browse through and you will definitely be rushing into the kitchen to bake something delicious. The perfect pick me up book.
this has to be the very first cookbook that i wanted every single cookie. I also really loved how every single recipe had a photo. I also really liked how simple it makes cookies sound.. and i must admit cookies scare me.. but i also want to eat them all!
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.
Who doesn’t need another cookie cookbook for their cookbook collection?
Tasty recipes and tempting pictures fill this small cookies cookbook. It includes basic information, and trouble shooting ideas for making perfect cookies. Many of the recipes are familiar for common cookies: oatmeal, chocolate chip, peanut butter.
There is a special chapter on a variety of oatmeal cookies that looks interesting. There are also chapters on Celebration and Christmas baking.
The iced lemon poppy seed cookies look refreshing and the cranberry orange cookies are tempting! It makes me want to take out the mixer and get busy.
Even though there are many recipes in this book that could be found elsewhere, it is nice to have them altogether in a convenient little cookbook. It makes for fast work when you are craving a cookie!
A small, but nicely varied collection of cookie recipes. Most of the recipes have accompanying pictures and the recipes are clearly written. Helpfultouchhes include tips and storage information.
There's a cookie for everyone in this book! I think this is the perfect book for someone who wants to learn to bake every type of cookies. Definitely putting this one on my wishlist! Only downside is some title sections are hard to read but it may be because I'm reading it on my phone.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the free ebook copy in exchange of a honest review.
How to write a review now when all I want to do is bake (and eat) the delicious, gorgeously photographed, mouth watering cookies in Live Well Bake Cookies? After a brief introduction, Danielle Rye lists the tools and equipment you will need and then the ingredients she uses. The reasons for certain ingredients are fascinating. For instance, did you know that brown sugar adds moisture? That cream cheese must be used in a block because the tubs contain ingredients that thin the cheese? That using a fork to mark peanut butter cookies helps them spread while cooking? Even the temperature of the dough effects the results.
The recipes are next. Organized into five sections: classics; chocolate cookies; fun flavor combinations; celebrations cookies and finally, Christmas cookies, each recipe has thorough, easy to read instructions. My favorite cookies are Chocolate Nutella, turtle cups, cookies and cream, salted caramel chocolate chip bars and hot cocoa cookies and all the small batch cookies.
Live Well Bake Cookies belongs on every baker’s shelf. It’s the perfect gift for any cook, especially a beginner or young cook. Thank you Danielle Rye! 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Danielle Rye for this ARC.
At first glance, this book has nice, bright pictures and has a solid collection of recipes. Unfortunately, in the era of Pinterest and artisan cookie shops, I don't think this book stands out. Most of the ideas are basic, and while they look and taste good they are not anything unique.
Danielle Rye is known for her Blog called Live Well Bake Often. I am a certified cookie lover. It will always be one of my favorite foods. I’m so glad that I found this book because it hall different kinds of cookie recipes — from the classics to celebratory cookies. Also, love the pictures; the cookies look so scrumptious. You guys should also try the recipes! You’ll love it! I give this book 4.5 stars.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group for allowing me to give an honest review of this arc. Got this from Netgalley. :)
I loved this cookbook! The pictures were high quality, and the recipes were clear and easy to follow. This cookbook had classic recipes, and some fun ones that I can’t wait to try.
What an appetizing cookbook! Tons of great recipes and a great color photo of every single one. The instructions are easy to follow and include many pro baking tips. The Sour Cream Cookies and Iced Lemon Poppy Seed Cookes were especially good.
I pride myself on being a connoisseur of cookies, a consumer of crumbly confection. When I saw this book on NetGalley, I couldn’t set my cookie down fast enough to grab this book.
In all seriousness, this book takes a delectable dessert and teaches readers how to bake them with success. The only thing better than cookies themselves is the ability to bake them!
This book features clear, concise information; tantalizing, vivid photographs; accessible, approachable word choices; and helpful tips and tricks that apply to the novice just as much as to the professional.
My favorite part of the book is the “small batch” feature, because in a household of one, as much as I love cookies, I can’t easily eat a whole batch. The ability to make scrumptious cookies without having to crunch numbers to reduce the recipes is a feature I didn’t know was a thing until I read it, and something I wish all cookbooks featured.
A whole book of cookie recipes - HEAVEN!
To get the bad point out of the way: The background pattern in the index and chapter heads makes reading the text well nigh impossible - v annoying.
Very good is that weights/measurements are given in US and European units. Some terms like “old-fashioned rolled oats” and “packed light brown sugar” are unknown to my UK ears, but hey-ho...
Yield, Pro- baking tips and time required are also very helpful.
Mouthwatering food images made me drool dangerously over the ebook reader ;)
And, as with any cookbook, I tested some of the recipes - just for research purposes, you understand...
The oatmeal raisin cookies and the Snickerdoodles came out just fine.
The shortbread, veering from the tried and tested ratio 1:2:3 for sugar:butter:flour came out too greasy and floury - I’ll stick with my old recipe.
And if the words “Edible peanut butter cookie dough” do not reach into the deepest depth of your cravings... then you cannot be saved.
Aaaand: “Turtle cookie cups” became a currency in our household.
All in all a very rounded compendium for cookie monsters - and those who bake for them.
Loved the recipes, never made or even seen a snickerdoodle cookie before. Now I am a fan they were easy to make.
First of all, the cover is enough to unleash my inner cookie monster *gasp*. I just find the cover fitting for such a title as this.
I had never heard of Danielle Rye till I picked this cookbook and boy aren't I glad I did. In case you are wondering the recipe book is full of many wonderful cookie recipes to try. It has basic cookie recipes we all know and then slowly weaves into those unfamiliar but so effortlessly that you feel like you know what you are doing.
This book explains what you need, mistakes you should not make and the photography is just amazing. If you love baking and cookies then you need to get this book because it's so good. A huge thanks to Rock Point and NetGalley for my e-ARC in exchange for an honest review
I adore this recipe book! Rye includes so many staples like chocolate chip cookies or snickerdoodles, but also ventures out and includes more out-there cookies that made me salivate just by reading through the recipes!
So far, I've baked three of the recipes and while the sugar intake has definitely meddled my brain, I absolutely devoured all the batches of cookies (personal favorite might be the white macadamia cookie). I also adore that Rye included some pro-tips with every recipe to make sure that beginners also know what they can do to make the baking process easier!
Simple yet stunning, this is a must for every baking or cookie lover!
Good cookie book! The intro section includes Ingredients, Tools & Equipment, Baking Tips, Troubleshooting Guide, Storage, Make-Ahead Tips, Freezing Instructions, and Packing and Shipping.
Recipes are in chapters on The Classics, Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Fun Flavor Combinations, Celebrations, and Christmas. Each recipe has a full color photo, which I love. I'm only giving this book a four because the majority of the recipes seem like those that are widely available - I didn't really find anything in here that made me think, "wow, that's new." But what is here all looks very good.
Thank you so much for the chance to read and review this cookbook/baking guide in exchange for honest feedback. Not going to lie, I absolutely need some cookies and a tall glass of milk after reading through this book. Jam packed (get it?) with information and tips, this baking guide is highly informative, visually appealing, and modern in its application and usefulness. I would highly recommend this book to those like me who are baking beginners but love the hobby, as well as those who are seasoned but like ideas/collect guides. I am going to be on the look out for this at my local library because I want to try a few recipes and maybe review how they turn out! Highly recommended.
Danielle Rye's "Live Well Bake Cookies" cookbook follows on from her successful online blog "Live Well Bake Often". It's filled with 75 delicious recipes set out in sections specific to either the key ingredient - oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate or by tradition- classic or experimental flavour combos, or by occasion - celebration or Christmas.
There is quite a lot of repetition across some of these sections, particularly those themed by flavour. However each recipe is tempting and the pictures that accompany them are mouthwatering. Rye outlines what equipment you need and there are a ton of variations, tips and troubleshooting advice to hand within the pages to ensure a brilliant cookie each time.
The recipes listed produce large amounts of cookies and so I halved the recipes. The recipes I tried were easy to follow and even easier to eat! In particular, the oatmeal cream pies and the peanut butter blossoms were a big hit with everyone who tried them.
There's a cookie in here for everyone, and it will be a brilliant asset to your collection of recipe books.
Thank you to Danielle Rye, Rock Point - Quarto publishing point, and Netgalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exhange for an honest opinion.
Wow! Seriously impressed.
If you love cookies you'll love this.
I've tried a few and I'm hooked. I even shared some with my neighbours and now they keep asking for more.
What I found really helpful was that the author had included several small batch recipes which are not usually included in other baking books. I found this especially useful as I live alone, large batches are bad for the waist line.
I would definitely recommend this to all cookie lovers or baking lovers. Some of the recipes and truly inspirational.
Enjoy!
#LiveWellBakeCookies #NetGalley.
I had so much fun with Live Well Bake Cookies - I loved the layout and simplicity of the book that didn't overwhelm me (which is easy to do in my case with bake/cook books). I appreciated the breakout of cookie type and honed in on the 'Fun Flavor Combinations and Celebration Cookies" sections. I'm not a cookie person in general but I love to bake them and give them as presents which was awesomely described in "Packing and Shipping Cookies". I'd always wondered about that and with the author's tips and tricks, I'll be able to mail them! So exciting.
From basic favourites to some more unusual bakes, this book is full of all types of cookies (duh)!
The instructions are easy to follow, and there are handy tips to help throughout. I also love that the ingredients are listed in cups and grams - it's so helpful to have both!
My only criticism is that I couldn't read some of the title pages through the book due to the font/background combination - this may not be the same on the printed version, and it in no way detracted from the overall book!
[I received a copy of this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review]
This is such a cute recipe book! Whoever designed the inside is a wizard because the layouts are so cute with high-quality pictures.
I don't even know where to start. There are so many recipes in here for cookies. AND EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!?!? I am going to be making that one ASAP. Like... every cookie you can think of is included in here. Themed, holiday, chocolate, peanut butter base, oatmeal based, oh my gosh all the pictures are amazing.
I've only made the original chocolate chip cookie recipe and if that's any indicator, I will be obese by the end of the year.
I love the index in the back because it offers you a quick way to find the recipe you want instead of flipping through. Because it's dangerous to flip through. You'll get sidetracked finding your recipe for an even better recipe and soon enough you'll be quitting your job and start baking all the cookies. Ah so happy I got this and will probably buy this for friends when it comes out!
Absolutely everything you need to know about making delicious cookies and baked goods that would delight every member of the family.
The photographs and quality of the book are excellent throughout..
I love a good cookbook, and this is a good cookbook! I love baking, and my favourite things to bake (and eat) are cookies! So to have a whole cookbook dedicated to them is brilliant. This is packed with delicious, easy to follow recipes. I love that there are photos of every single bake, so you know just what you're aiming for. There are also photographs during the process - not sure what brown butter should look like? The book shows you! It can be frustrating when you buy a cookbook and realise that you're realistically only going to bake a third of the contents, but with this collection, I was drooling on every page! I'd definitely recommend to any baking enthusiast. It's simple and clear enough for any beginner baker, but also has new and original recipes for the more experienced. Fabulous book!
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.
You cannot read this book without itching to try several of the recipes. The recipes read easy, and lull you into bakers heaven. The author puts you at ease with her own journey. The recipes are easily replicated. The outcome sweet and delicious.
Live Well Bake Cookies: 75 Classic Cookie Recipes for Every Occasion by Danielle Rye is currently scheduled for release on August 24 2021. Danielle Rye, the creator of the popular baking blog Live Well Bake Often, believes that anyone can become an expert baker, and in this book she will help you do just that by gently guiding you in the kitchen with foolproof recipes for cookies and treats that come out perfectly portioned and dependably delicious every single time. Recipes include a range of classic, oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, holiday, seasonal, and Christmas cookies, including: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Carrot Cake Oatmeal Cookies, Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Bars, Double Chocolate M&M’s Cookies, Iced Maple Cinnamon Cookies, Pumpkin Whoopie Pies, Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodles, Peppermint Snowball Cookies, Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars Complete with helpful tips and tricks, make-ahead and freezing instructions, small-batch recipes, and a gorgeous photograph accompanying every recipe, this cookbook will truly have you living your best baking life.
Live Well Bake Cookies offers readers exactly what the title suggests, 75 cookie recipes with enough variety to satisfy just about every cookie eater. I like that the recipes include both metric and standard US measurements so that bakers used to both can enjoy the recipes without extra math and calculations. I liked that tips and tricks were included, along with freezing ad storage information. I think the small batch information was also a nice touch, because not everyone needs or wants the temptation of extra cookies in the freezer. The recipes are well written and easy to follow. There were some formatting issues that made readability a struggle in some places, but I am going with the assumption that this is because I was reading a digital galley and these problems will be solved before the print version is shipped. I think fans of the blogger and dedicated cookie bakers looking to add to their cookbook collection will want to add this to their collection. For those of us that really love to bake but are completely out of shelf space for cookbooks- I highly recommend borrowing from a library (or buying and then donating to a local library) to find your favorite recipes and hints to add to your knowledge base.
Moderation! Delicious recipes are ahead!
I have to say moderation is key, there are so many good recipes to choose from and you will want to keep on trying them. But again I say moderation there is time to enjoy all of this food and I will keep getting in trouble for trying to sneak cookies myself...
This book has SO many recipes I am eager to make. This is a great cookbook for anyone who likes to bake cookies. I liked the breakdown by chapter themes and I can't wait to make some of these!
The cover reels you in with delicious looking cookies and doesn’t stop there. With easy to follow instructions, beautiful photographs and so many different types of cookies you will want to run to your kitchen and try them all. I loved the small batch recipes and I am looking forward to experimenting with the Lucky Charms Cookies. I will definitely be pulling this cookbook out when it is time for a cookie swap!
I want to thank NetGalley, Danielle Rye and Quarto Publishing Group for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.
You have every type of cookie in here, this book covers the basic recipes, that most people would like to try at home. It's easy and straightforward, it has troubleshooting lists, which is handy. After reading this, I want to go to the kitchen immediately and try out the recipes. Because who doesn't like cookies? Even if you don't, you can stil bake this and share it with others, they must be impressed. The pictures are good and tempting too. Goodbye diet!
This is your go-to cookie book! It has literally ALL your family's favs, plus some new takes on oldies from Grandma's recipe box, that will make you say WOW! I REALLY love that there are quite a few SMALL batch recipes, for when you want something JUST for today, and aren't feeding a crowd!
With 75 cookies, you can easily bake a batch a week, for over a year! I can already see gifting this book, with a basket of ingredients or accessories to make the cookies, for the upcoming holiday season! Because the recipes cover a bread spectrum, there are recipes here for everyone! Don't miss this one!
This is a beautifully designed book filled with recipes that I really want to try. It’s peppered with “pro tips”, which I’m sure will be helpful. I love that the measurements are in both cups/tablespoons and metric, so that whichever system you’re using, you don’t have to lose time converting it (which often doesn’t quite work out). I’m most looking forward to trying the iced maple cinnamon and chocolate Nutella cookies, but those are just 2 of a very long list!
This book was just what I needed. So many great cookie recipes and I couldn’t wait to try them and got started straight away. I particularly loved that the recipes also had ‘gram’ equivalent and not just ‘cup’ as I’m UK based and only use grams.
I loved the layout and how the cookies were defined by sections. There is also a good amount of them that doesn’t require chill time that I particularly like.
The tips were very helpful, I learned a few new things.
The photos made my mouth water.
My first attempt was what I call a basic chocolate chip cookie. These were delicious and the recipe was easy to follow. My son helped me make these and we loved how easy to make they were.
I look forward to trying the Christmas cookies in a few months!
Who doesn't need more cookies in their life? This book is fantastic and would make a perfect gift for any foodie or baker in your life. Danielle's blog is fantastic and I was so excited to see this cookbook from her being released. It provides a wealth and variety of recipes with clear and precise instructions so you will have great success in the kitchen. I can't wait to start baking! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy of this book.
I'm someone that loves to bake and cookies have always been a personal favorite, so I was very excited to get my hands on this book. To start, this book is sleek and beautiful. I loved that each recipe has a photo (Yes, I know it's just cookies but I'm a big fan of knowing what something is supposed to look like)! Seventy-five recipes are included and I felt the range is excellent. From the everyday to the for a more special occasion, this book has you covered. Plus, this book includes a small-batch section which is quite rare. Added to this is some helpful information and some clever tips that cover the ingredients and equipment to packaging and storing your cookies. I feel that this is a great cookbook that should hold a lot of appeal for just about anyone. I've made the double chocolate M & M cookies and I thought they were delicious! I'm eager to test more recipes ASAP.
Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Rye and Quarto Publishing Group for Live Well Bake Cookies. This is my personal review.
I love cookbooks and this is one I will be adding to my collection.
This was such a fun book to read. I had several gathering in the past couple months with our daughter getting married. The recipes in this book made deciding what cookies to bake so easy. I recipes of family favorites – chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal, and sugar cookies—such a great selection.
I will be making some of the others from this cookbook in the future and freeze them for the holidays.
The pictures of the cookies were amazing!
This book will make a great gift for my friends who love to bake.
The tip section of this book is worth the price. Seriously. I’ve been making cookies for a LONG long time and how did I never know my cookies browned so much because of my dark cookie sheet? My kids and I plan on making a bunch of these recipes this weekend. Such a great book for the family and every occasion. And the pictures are gorgeous!!! Every recipe comes with the weight of ingredients as well so if you prefer to weigh out you are good to go.
Okay… I love cookies SO much. The variety do oatmeal cookies in this book is OUTSTANDING. Not to mention all the tips and tricks included on how to make the perfect cookie. No more spending a bunch of money at bakeries and now being able to make quality cookies is amazing!
