Description

A hilarious and heartfelt novel about how loves and lives are never truly lost, for fans of Rebecca Serle and Taylor Jenkins Reid.

With a leading role on a hit TV show and a relationship with Hollywood’s latest heartthrob, Meg Bryan appears to have everything she ever wanted. But underneath, her happiness is as fake as her stage name, Lana Lord. Following a tiny nervous breakdown at her thirtieth birthday party, she books an impromptu trip to Ireland. Specifically, to the village where she and her best friend Aimee always dreamt of moving.

When Meg arrives, the people in town don’t just recognize her, they seem to know her. She quickly—reluctantly—realizes she has somehow slipped into an alternate reality. One where she did move to Ireland as a teenager, one where she never got famous, and—most shocking of all—one where Aimee is alive and well.

She just wants nothing to do with Meg.

Despite her bewilderment, Meg is clear-eyed about one thing: this is a once-in-two-lifetimes chance to reconnect with her friend and repair what she broke . . . or else risk losing Aimee all over again.

A hilarious and heartfelt novel about how loves and lives are never truly lost, for fans of Rebecca Serle and Taylor Jenkins Reid.

I absolutely LOVED this book. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book for an honest review. I am a huge fan of "Sliding Doors" type books. Many of these storylines fail to connect on a realistic, thought-provoking deep level. They lack balance that grows a good story: humor, seriousness, plot development and miss a satisfying ending. This book had all of these necessities and wonderful characters (that I loved) with a great story flow! Paige masterfully spun this story that I wanted to get to the end of and also not get to the end of.

I won't dive too much into the story as to not reveal spoilers. I will say as a first time reader of Ms. Paige Harbison I am loving her writing style and quick wit! I would 100% add this book to my collection and highly recommend it for personal reading and book club selections.

Looking forward to the next book!

This is just a fun, if far-fetched story of two paths of one life. Had me choked up in a couple places that are very sweet. Will highly recommend! Would be a perfect beach read. Or cosy couch and blanket read!!!

This grabbed me from the beginning, and I didn't want to put it down. I'll be thinking about this one for a while. (and going to check out Paige Harbison's previous books)

Thank you, Netgalley and St. Martin's Press.

WOW! Just WOW! If ever I needed a great novel to escape into, it is now, and The Other Side of Now delivered! So much to love. The characters are genuine, relatable, and funny. I loved the relationships between them. All the elements of this story are difficult to tell with such authenticity and vulnerability but it worked! The third act of the book was such a surprise and I loved every minute of it. The story could've stopped in 3 different places easily, but it continued and progressed into something even more rewarding. Also enjoyed the references to books, music, and film throughout.
This tells a wonderful story of friendship, self-reflection/self-actualization and the bravery of trusting others and being vulnerable help to progress through suppressed trauma and grief. As one character in the book exclaims, "brava"!

What a terrific book! Sometimes we need extraordinary events to shake us out of our lives and help us to learn important lessons. I don't want to add anything for fear of spoiling the fun. The only other thing I will say is: READ THIS BOOK!

Okay, I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It was everything I didn't know I needed. I've been in a rut with my physical/ebooks where I get halfway through and I just want it to end. But not with this one 👏👏 I couldn't get enough. It grabbed me right away.

I loved everything about it especially the characters. I loved the cherish the life you're in message it had in it. Plus the ending! It was SO good!!!!! Highly recommend adding this to your TBR. It's not out till June but I can't wait to reread it. REALLY hope the audiobook has some Irish accents cause I was all about the Ireland setting!!!! It gave me major The Seven Year Slip vibes which I also loved!!!! So sad it's over!!!

This book is nothing short of pure magic. I am someone who loves thinking about 'what if's' not dwelling on them too long of course. This book is written as if it was taken straight from my brain and put on the page. It contains multitudes. There is grief, love, truth, romance, and my favorite, Ireland. The characters had emotional depth which made me feel like I was right there alongside them. Which in many ways I feel as though I am.

I can't wait to pick this book up to keep on my shelf. This is definitely a keeper. I may not of normally reached for this book- but man it reached for me! *cue the tears*

5 stars.

Thank you Netgalley and Paige Harbison for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Loved Loved Loved this book! As a counselor, I have frequently talked to people who have wondered how life would be different if one choice was made. When I was younger, I dropped out of college to take time to reflect on choices. I applied to 2 different schools, 2 different majors and had to decide what to do. I made a gut decision and because of that I worked in one city, met my 'now' husband and had the life I was meant to have.

This book was emotional and so sweet. I cannot wait to read more from Paige Harbison!

The Other Side of Now is my first Paige Harbison book and I can say with certainty I will be reading more of her work! This genre bending story is part magical realism, part alternate reality, dashes of nostalgia, and 100% hopeful and healing.

Although categorized as a romance, The Other Side of Now packs a punch with its heavy subject matter. That being said, the different versions of love in this books were my favorite thing about it.

-Slow burn
-Friendship
-Found family
-Fated mates
-Forgiveness & grief
-Small town
-Dogs!

4.5 stars. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. Publishing June 2025

The Other Side of Now by Paige Harrison was transfixing! I did not want this book to end I was so swept up in it! Life is full of choices how often do we get the opportunity to see how things would play out had we made a different one?

Grab the tissues, this one sneaks up on you.

It was the description that interested me in this story, and I almost put it down when I realized it has a bit of a supernatural flare to it. It's not my typical pick, but I was very happy I stuck with it. Meg, aka Lana, lost her best friend as a teenager. When a big birthday comes up it seems to trigger a mid-life crisis of sorts, causing her to flee her Hollywood lifestyle for a break, only to find what seems to be an alternate reality. The author triggers such emotion in this story, that's hard to talk about without spoiling. It's a journey worth taking, truly emotional story.

The only disappointing thing about reading this story was when I found out it was the author's first adult novel and I couldn't quickly move on the the next.

I sped through this one in a day. I couldn’t put it down! I truly loved this story and flew through it. Love the details of how it was told. Must read!

The Other Side of Now was both a thoughtful and very enjoyable read. I loved the sliding doors concept, and the exploration of the way that one action taken could have on a life was great. And yet, we hope that the underlying premise is true - that we will be able to hit the big notes of family/friendship/life in whatever path we choose. Harbison does an incredibly admirable job wrestling her characters into a storyline, and an ultimate destination, that felt both true and plausible, while still keeping the reader in suspense - I was very near the end of this story and I was still totally unsure about what the ending resolution would be, so when the truth of it all did finally emerge, it was a gut-punch. It's lovely to read a book this descriptive and fun that is still capable of delivering on those big emotional moments.

Wow - this is a book I'll be thinking about for a long time, I can already tell. It earns a well deserved 5 stars and I'm adding it to my Favorites shelf...and it won't surprise me if it remains my favorite book of the year at the end of December. As soon as I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read it, and it was even better than I'd hoped.

What specifically did I love about it? So many things, but let me tell you a few (ok, several!): excellent writing, a beautiful setting that I could picture so clearly I felt like I was there, characters that felt like real people and whom I fell in love with, good dialogue, humor, tears, friendship, family, ups and downs, surprises, paths not taken, what ifs, alternate lives, choices, dogs, and so much more. I didn't want to put it down, truly, and even more so didn't want it to end. It would make such a good movie!

It's an understatement to say I loved The Other Side of Now, and if any of those themes I mentioned appeal to you, or if you just enjoy a good story, you must add it to your list. It's slated for release this June, and I highly recommend it. A huge thank you to St. Martin's Press & NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A really, really good book, but left me questioning so much. After visiting a Psychic with her best friend Aimee, Meg Bryan learns that she has two timelines. She brushes it off as nonsense, but is it? Years later, after a successful but soul sucking career in acting, Meg, now known as Lana Lord, decides she needs an escape. She heads to the town of Avalon...a town, she originally planned to visit to attend acting school. She never made it to acting school, but so many things about the town seem familiar and yet she's never been there, or has she? A lovely and reflective story about the life choices we make.

Loved absolutely loved this book and I did not want it to end! I could picture each life so clearly and found myself rooting for Meg to stay in her Avalon life - how I wish it was real! I love magical realism so much and I hope Paige continues to write in this genre! Outstanding
