Couldn't put this novel down and read it in one day. Two sisters have to navigate their father falling in love with a younger woman while their mother
languishes in a dementia ward. Drama ensues at the wedding and the deceitfuless and the confusion that permeates the family dynamics comes to an unfortunate tipping point. Loved it!

This book centers around the wedding of Stephen and Heather. Heather is the same age as his children Tully, the shoplifting, fake life till you make it, flat broke and neurotic daughter, and Rachel who’s never been married, a gifted baker, lonely, and a tiny more stable daughter.
Heather “the younger wife” comes from nothing but has worked (and weaseled her way) up the interior designing ladder. Life hasn’t been good to her, but it will be once she’s married. Did I mention Stephen was married to Rachel and Tully’s mom when they met. she has severe dementia and lives in a private nursing home. He divorces her and sets forth with getting married to heather. The book is told in Tully, Rachel’s, and heathers POV.
This book is a come to Jesus moment for a lot of the characters. I love sally Hepworths books, she has a fan for life with me. This may be my favorite so far …. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 S̤̈T̤̈Ä̤R̤̈S̤̈

I loved this story! The characters were really written well and developed wonderfully. This was a hinge tasting premise and I couldn’t put it down. I just had to know how it would all end! Highly recommended.
Thanks NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for access to this ARC.
Fun, fast-paced and filled with rich character development-- Sally Hepworth continues to be one of my favorite authors for a suspenseful read. The Younger Wife is told through multiple viewpoints, and each character is fresh, flawed, and very real. I was pulled into this story and was kept wondering what the outcome would be for the two main mysteries. An amazing page-turner! Sometimes things aren’t quite what they seem...
The Younger Wife, by Sally Hepworth, was an absolute ROMP of a book. I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading it and had trouble putting it aside. A light read, touching on some darker subject matter, The Younger Wife was well written and the characters largely engaging.
I recommend this book for an easy, well written read.
Thank you to St Martin's Press and Netgalley for an ARC edition of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book, so much different layers of many plot lines tied beautifully together. I thought the book was going to fall down a predictable path of the unreliable narrator, but the author didn't. I flip- flopped many times trying to guess the twist throughout the book, and I was not disappointed.
The ending was a bit wild, leaving readers unsure of the final answer- did he or didn't he? I guess we'll never know the truth.
I loved this book. Family ties, old lies, the white elephant in the room no one speaks of. Fearless reaction to a ‘gut’ feeling. Women sticking up for each other is a feeling like no other. So many times women are manipulated by their needs: shelter, funds, care, safety, security; these things we have been groomed to believe can only be derived from one source. Lead on ladies.
Sally Hepworth is an author to look out for!!
She writes domestic stories beautifully and you feel truly immersed in the story.
I found myself thinking about this book often and wanting to continue to read it the second I finished!
I am excited to read more from Sally Hepworth in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book
Stephen appears to be a model father and husband to his wife Pam and his kids Rachel and Tully. However appearances aren’t always as they seem.
Pam is currently suffering from dementia and Stephen is now engaged to their interior designer. Rachel was a victim of sexual assault as a teenager and Tully is a kleptomaniac. Things take a dramatic turn when these secrets start coming out and the spotlight is on Stephen.
I am purposely keeping my synopsis brief as this book is just one wild ride. Sally Hepworth has done it again. After reading her last book I didn’t think it could be topped but this one does. There so many twists and turns and the secrets are just incredible. There are some triggers such as sexual assault and domestic violence but I hope this doesn’t deter everyone from reading it. I loved it all and highly recommend this book
Sally Hepworth's The Younger Wife is another domestic thriller. This story highlights family dysfunction and the repercussions of how a seemingly functional family discovers some hard truths about the picture perfect family they thought they had.
4.5 stars. Another solid read from Sally Hepworth. She is great with her twists and turns! Rachel and Tully’s father announces he’s marrying Heather, a woman a couple of years younger than them. At the same time, their mother is experiencing profound dimmentia and is living in a nurse facility. Secrets will be revealed, and Hepworth will leave you guessing until the very end!
Sally Hepworth is a master at the unexpected, This was the third book that I’ve read by this author and though I’ve loved each, she still crafted a story that is unpredictable and twisty. The story is about a family struggling with the current state of their lives. The mother, Pam, is suffering from rapidly progressing dementia. Both sisters, Tully and Rachel, have their own significant mental issues and now their doting father, Stephen is divorcing Pam to marry the interior designer hired to remodel their home. Oh, and the fiancé, Heather, is younger than both daughters. Wow! Events are progressing toward the wedding but suspicion is raised about Stephen’s true nature. Pam has made seriously harsh statements about how he treated her, mysterious money was found and Heather has a couple incidents the cause of which she is not entirely clear. What is happening within this family? Do they know each other at all? Why don’t they tell each other about anything of substance? Will they find a new road together or completely diverge? You will be guessing throughout. Loved this book!
