Description

On this deep space pleasure cruise, love is in the recycled air.

Sunastara Jeka is passionate about two things: (1) meeting the needs of the varied species who holiday aboard her interstellar pleasure cruise during the day, and (2) avoiding attachments when the occasional guest meets her needs at night.

Sunny’s life is simple, straightforward, and safe until a former one-night stand becomes her newest crew member.

Freddie has never forgotten that night with Sunny. He’s ecstatic to see her again, until she tells him she never dates her coworkers. Determined not to lose this confident, sexy, hysterical woman again, Freddie bides his time, pursuing a purely professional relationship with Sunny when they’re on the clock, while he slowly charms her senseless after hours.

As Sunny breaks her own rules about workplace romance, her tragic past and a heartbreaking betrayal thrust her orderly life into chaos.

When a hostile species holidays aboard the ship, endangering VIP guests and even the known universe, Sunny and Freddie must decide. Will they let the gravity of their pasts keep them apart, or risk it all for love and fight for their future together?

Advance Praise

“Stars above, Love in the Time of Wormholes was an absolute blast. Packed with a diverse crew of characters that felt like dear friends by the end, this interplanetary adventure is full of both humor and fun, at the same time that it tells a sensitive story of grief. Sunny and Freddie's chemistry is fire-hot, and it was impossible not to root for their happily-ever-after from the very beginning. I loved my time aboard the Ignisar!” - Anita Kelly, author of Sing Anyway and Love & Other Disasters

“Love in the Time of Wormholes is the perfect blend of clever humor, hotter-than-hot romance, and alien antics! ” - Cate Pearce, author of Traitors of the Black Crown

“Love In the Time of Wormholes was the sexiest version of Star Trek I've ever encountered with the steamiest of love scenes balanced by tender moments of healing and hope. Don't sit on this new release from Jess K. Hardy.” - Ruby Barrett author of Hot Copy and the forthcoming While It’s Hot

This is a beautifully crafted world, and story. Being both sci-fi and having a thread of suspense, it's not my usual thing, but I bring that up to complement the author on having written a compelling, honest, and appealing story that defies genre.

My favorite part is definitely the variety of characters. They're all richly drawn with humor and foibles and occasionally conflicting goals. The MCs were complex and sometimes flawed but fundamentally good people and I was happy for their growth and happiness. Freddie is definitely whatever we'll be calling cinnamon rolls in a thousand years! But, as appealing as they were, I'm just as interested in the secondary characters and I hope to see more of their stories.

I'm so glad I got a chance to read this, and I would heartily recommend that anyone who likes smart, steamy fiction stretch their usual genre preferences and pick this up--it's worth it!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
