This series of devotions for men are engaging and encouraging. The stories are compelling and the scriptures are challenging as always. I believe every man will find many of the days that speak directly to what they are going through in their lives. I think this is a very useful resource for men wanting to walk closer with God.

A 90+1 day devotional targeting men; although I am not sure why it would only be for men. I don’t believe there is anything here that doesn’t have more broad appeal or potential. Each day opens with a topical heading and scripture citation before a very brief personal vignette by way of topic intro to another brief discussion on how it relates to the cited scripture. The day closes with a “Making It Work” practical application section. Unfortunately, the personal tales and the scriptural discussions rarely connected with me; they frequently felt underdeveloped and at times a bit of a stretch at others. In the end, it felt like popcorn spirituality (quick and less filling).
I was given this free advance reader copy (ARC) ebook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Review: Brother to Brother: 90 Devotions for Men on Faith and Life by Tim Gustafson
Daily Christian Devotionals have developed into a staple of most Christian homes and church communities. For those building their faith, strengthening their faith, or looking to serve in ministry, or even those who use devotional books, calendars, software, or other resources in various ways, all will find Brother to Brother edifying their Christian walk. Both a Christian and military veteran, Gustafson has a knack for finding a way to be informative and concise in his daily devotionals. I found it helpful that each devotional has a “Making It Work” conclusion that connects the devotional theme to a modern-day problem every Christian may encounter.
The book is called Brother to Brother as it is a dedication to Gustafson’s brother, whom he states he shared all things, including their faith. Each daily devotional is compartmentalized or autonomous from the other. These would make great mid-week or small group Bible study topics for ministers or church leaders. Overall, the devotional book is good timing for Christians struggling with mental health, physical health, or any other physical or spiritual condition due to COVID or struggles in any age honestly. This book will age well and be applicable for people for many generations to come.
I look forward to sharing this with those in my faith community.

This book is a gem - if you are looking for something powerfully potent but portable and short. Each of the 90 day's devotionals are a very quick read but relevant and impactful - drawing on examples from sports to Dr. Seuss to Bob Dylan, including a scripture reference and suggested reading for the day. Would recommend this for yourself or as a gift to a special man in your life whose faith you want to see grow. An advance copy was provided to me from the publisher through NetGalley without any commitment of a favorable review.
