Description
When a frantic Russian defector jumps into her taxi, CIA analyst Phoebe Renfrew would like nothing better than to take him to the proper government authorities. But then the cab’s windows are shot out And with the government shut down, she’s got a little choice but to take him home. He can hide in the basement of the beautiful but rundown house she just bought with Chase Bonaventure, her fiancé. It’s only for the weekend. What can happen, right?.
But between fighting off the attacks of a determined Russian assassin—and deflecting the plans her mother’s making for a big wedding she’s not ready for—Phoebe’s got her hands full.. When the showdown comes, maybe planning a wedding isn’t the worst thing that could happen.
Because she and Chase might not survive the weekend.

I love a book that doesn't take itself to seriously. This is a very good book that knows exactly what it is. Its not a Mitch Rapp, or Scot Harvath novel. Nor is it a Sophie Kinsella or RS grey Novel. Its a weird hybrid of the two, and I loved it. Its a absolutely fun escape from reality that anyone can enjoy. I think Kay wrote a book that successfully transcends genres. I can recommend this book to my mystery thriller friends, as well as my romance obsessed friends.
What a hoot! Loved it. It put a smile on my face and kept it there throughout. Entertaining, amusing, and a pure delight to read. I haven't read the first two, but I will do so soon. I am eager to discover any other books by this author also. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
