Oh my goodness. This book. This book had me hooked from the get-go.

Genre: mystery/thriller
Synopsis: daughter is having a difficult time, her mother is terrible and making it worse. She decides to enter a trial to when some money. And it definitely does not go as planned.

What a ride! I felt so much empathy for Elle. Her mother is a mess and she just put up with it because it’s her only family. And her mother just used and abused that relationship. Her going on a holiday was a great idea.

But this wasn’t the holiday she planned. Things started feeling off, people started going crazy, and surprisingly she stuck through it.

But that ending! First one twist, and then a cliffhanger!!!!

I would definitely read more from this author! Fantastic.

A truly brilliant thriller! The quickly developing mystery and a growing sense of unease dropped me right onto the island with the participants of The Trial and I couldn’t put this down. I loved the descriptions of the location and the interactions between characters felt so believable. I warmed to Elle straight away and was on her side the whole way through. If, like me, you’ve been in a “thriller slump” - this is the book to pull you out of it!

When I first saw this book on a launch evening I knew I just had to read it. Luckily I was able to get a copy via NetGalley thank you to S.R Masters and HarperCollins.

Wow what a story, it had me hooked from the beginning and I did not guess that ending. What a frustrating ending!

The right level of mystery and I did not know what was happening. When I found out the storyline it was scary just how it’s so close to real life. Some of the bits were terrifying.

The characters were brilliant with the added pills who knew what was going to happen!

If Netflix doesn’t pick this up then I’ll be surprised. It would be perfect for the screen.

Brilliant gripping thriller with the psychological elements nicely woven throughout. It kept me guessing. I recommend this for some good poolside reading. Maybe not if you’re on holiday in lanzarote though 😂

I absolutely loved this book! The premise was so original and unique that I was dying to see where the author would take it and I wasn't disappointed. I was hooked from the start and it just had me enthralled waiting to see what would happen next and who was behind it. The ending was just absolutely perfect and this is a must read

I was gripped by this read right from the very first page and I was engaged the whole way through, I couldn't put it down. Twisty and unpredictable and kept me on the edcge of my seat.

A very disturbing creepy tale which stayed with me and kept me thinking. Its very imaginative and interesting. I liked how the characters were just ordinary people out to make some money and enjoy themselves on what they thought was a holiday setting. I am hoping for a sequel.

Being a huge fan of creepy thrillers, this book was right up my alley! Elle is accepted into a clinical trial on the Canary Islands where the participants will be given an experimental drug in exchange for $20,000. Sound too good to be true? You be the judge of that! Elle is skeptical but when her elderly mother and mom's boyfriend scam her out of some money, Elle is determined to do something adventurous and earn some cash as well. The novel has a great cast of characters, all of whom have secrets and are there for different reasons. So what would you do for that kind of money?? Hmmm....I was sucked in from the beginning and didn't put it down until I was finished! What a wild ride!

Holy cow!! This book is fantastic! Has you gasping and wondering who, what, why and oh my god! Who did that and how could this have happened. I really, really love this book. It would make a fantastic mini series. If you like books that have you gasping for air some scenes, I highly, highly recommend it!!!

Characters are well crafted and leap from the page and the plot sufficiently complex and with unforeseen twists aplenty. A first class thrill ride - Buckle up.
