Description
The stunning debut novel from TikTok sensation Stacey McEwan (stacebookspace), Ledge is the fantasy quest of the year, with a sizzling enemies to lovers romance.
In a place known as The Ledge, a civilization is trapped by a vast chasm and sheer mountain face. Rations are small, living is tough and there is no way to escape without befalling a deathly drop. What’s more, every season the people must present themselves as a human sacrifice to the Glacians – mysterious winged creatures who reside beyond The Ledge.
Dawsyn, axe wielder and only remaining member of her family, has so far avoided the annual culling, but her luck has run out. She is ripped from her icy home with no idea what will happen to her on the other side. Enslaved? Murdered? Worse?
Fortunately, a half-Glacian called Ryon offers to help them both escape, but how can she trust one of the very creatures that plagued her life? Dawsyn is a survivor, and she is not afraid to cut anyone down to live.

Stacey lives on the Gold Coast, Australia with her husband, two children and one questionable dog. When Stacey isn’t writing, teaching, or making ridiculous TikToks, you’ll find her playing with her children, reading, annoying her husband, or possibly all three at once.

I completely adored this unique book! It was part dystopian, part romance, part survivalist tale, and completely amazing. I stayed up all night to finish it, as I could not put it down! I loved the idea of the Glacians, and the culling, the Ledge, all of it, and I really hope to revisit this fascinating world. Can’t wait for more from Stacey McEwan. 4/5 stars!
I absolutely loved this book! Ledge fits in the fantasy genre, and omg I can’t believe it’s a debut novel. The cover is amazing, as well as the writing style, plot and characters. It was announced as the first book of a Triology, so I can’t wait to read what happens next.

I-I’m at a loss for words.
When I first got approved for this ARC from NetGalley, I didn’t know much about this plot or this book. I had seen it a couple of times on TikTok, but nothing more.
Fast forward 3 days and I am…obsessed. Stacey McEwan write an incredible high fantasy novel that made me turning pages, reading late into the night and genuinely curious what would happen next. Lately, I’m starting to feel like a lot of fantasy novels are starting to feel the same and a similar plot, but McEwan pulled an incredible original plot and a fantasy world that absolutely blew my mind.
What I loved the most about this is the dialogue, enemies to lovers trope and in all honesty, the real emotions that the characters went through. There’s even one chapter that I think I highlighted half off.
I’ll be reading this again…and especially before the next one. And also, THAT CLIFF HANGER!!!!!!!!!
I just finished this book and I have no words. This may be the first time I’ve ever regretted receiving an ARC because it was so good! I want to discuss this book with everyone and it’s not even out yet. The ending left me shocked and now I’m dealing with the fact I may be waiting a long time before I get anything else in this world. The main character was refreshingly independent and so strong and the world was unique and super interesting. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Thanks to NetGalley for my digital ARC!
