I really enjoyed this book (not something I thought I’d ever say about a career book!).I wanted something to give me some new ideas about my next career move. Not only did it do that but the examples and practical sessions also got me thinking more about how I can improve my work life balance.

My 16-year-old is also reading it now, and my husband isn’t even looking for a job but I told him about the chapter on self-employment, so he is planning to read it next. I think it’s a book for everyone, not just because its lessons apply to people of all ages, but also because for a career book it’s a surprisingly entertaining page turner.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book, particularly all the quotations that are apt and add a nice extra dimension. In the introduction the author mentions he'd be including real life examples including some of his own personal and professional examples. I had reservations about that but it does help you relate to the messages in the book and it does make it more interesting than normal, and despite all the extra touches such as the humour, it's the core messages that I like best about this book. They are relevant, well explained and backed up with practical sessions. It's a a very well thought out career book with some great lessons for anyone wanting help with their career choices or improving their work-life balance."

Crappy job got you down? This book has some tips that might help you find the job of your dreams. There are a ton of relevant ideas in this book that might make you think about switching careers if it’s right for you.

What did I like? I think the pandemic had a lot of people switching jobs based on happiness since there was an abundance of jobs. I work with a ton of people who not only work the main job but also have a side job or two. Ideally the side job is the passion and main job brings in the money. The book was an interesting blend on a how to approach to find and invest your passion in a job fit for you.

Would I recommend or buy? This book is definitely thought provoking and an ideal read if your looking for a job where your true talent lies. I would recommend to people looking to make a career change..

Four stars! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher to read and offer an opinion.
