I really enjoyed reading this book. So tense.
Thanks to NetGalley and Hera Books for giving me an advance copy.
Very suspenseful read! Loved this book! Had not heard of Sophie Flynn, but will now be reading her other books. This drama takes place in the life of a mother with twin daughters who meets some other moms online who feel like kindred spirits and trusts them with her darkest thoughts. Later, she is stalked by one of the online moms, and her secrets are used against her in terrifying ways. Twists and turns throughout with a great ending twist that will leave your moth gaping open. Must read for anyone who likes domestic suspense or books about mothers and their children. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
Keep them close was a very enjoyable read, loved the twist, although I quessed what was going to happen it didnt spoil my enjoyable of the book.
Well written, tense and fast paced. This was a gripping read that I couldn't put down. Twisty and unpredictable and kept me guessing until the end.
I thought this was a good solid mystery. One where you want to keep on reading even when your eyes are shutting. However, I would say the 'whotdunnit' was quite obvious, with 'whydunnit'' being less so. I would still reccommend though.
I absolutely loved this from start to finish! Wow! I genuinely did not see those twists coming and what twists they were, a very cleverly plotted book, you didn’t know which way it was going from chapter to chapter. I would definitely recommend this to people who love a good twisty psychological thriller, but be warned, you might have to read it in one sitting.
What a great thriller. A fabulous plot, as I think meeting strangers on the internet and feeling as though you can spill out your thoughts could happen to many of us. Don’t want to spoil the plot but there are also many twists and turns. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to Hera Books and Net Galley for an ARC of this book.

I had an ARC
I loved this book! Five stars! Todays mothers can absolutely relate to sharing their stories online on moms forums….this book details what happens when that sharing leads to stalking. This book explores themes of motherhood and marriage so well. Highly recommended!
Oversharing Turns Dark…
Oversharing turns dark in this chilling suspense with a very sharp edge. Mum of twins, Emily, turns to an Internet forum- keeping her sanity intact and connecting to other mums of twins in similar circumstances sounds like a great idea. Doesn’t it? It’s not long before a particular connection begins to get worrying. Emily knows that she’s shared her darkest thoughts and, perhaps, secrets with a faceless character. But, retreating now may well be the biggest mistake that she makes. Unnerving and tense, plausible and with a lesson to be learned at the heart of it all, this is an immersive read with a well crafted cast and a credible plotline.
I love it. A compelling story of what social media can do to a person. Details of what we share and who to trust. There is sensitivity in regards to mental health issues. Definitely recommend.
Excellent thriller of the modern era, putting the internet and social media in the bad guy's seat. An innocent mommy group turns into a case of stalking. So twisty and fast paced.
I loved this book! It kept me on my toes the entire time I read it, desperate to find out it happened. I need to add some spoilers here because I just can’t help it. *SPOILER ALERT* the big plot twist did completely throw me off course! The whole time I’m ready I’m pulled in by this one blurb at the beginning that takes you on the journey throughout the whole book. For me, I thought the woman talking about having THREE children, with one rotten kid was Emily so I’m reading the whole time thinking I HAVE to find out what happened to this third kid of hers because she’s clearly not in the present so it took me a LOOOONNNG time to figure out that Bethany (or D3) was Emily’s SISTER and the woman complaining about the three sisters was EMILY’S mother. That’s all I’ll say was confusing and when I finally figured that out, I was like well done, author. She completely threw me. I can’t recommend this book enough. I really couldn’t put it down! Read this for a great edge of your seat mystery!
That was the review I wrote for Goodreads. I will try to remember to put that on Amazon as well when I’m able to write a review. Thank you for the chance to read your book. I thorough enjoyed it.
I was immediately hooked. A fast paced, effortlessly quick read where the pages just turned themselves and I was engaged throughout, mission accomplished. An current social media Whirlwind of a thriller! I loved it.
5 Stars
Wow what a gripping thriller.
It really highlighted the dangers of online forums and messaging people who you've never met in person, who in fact could be everyone. The way the book was written made me question everything and kept me guessing.
The main character Emily was easy to relate to in the beginning, with all the tales of her life as a working mum but the story got darker as it went on.
The story took several twists and turns and I developed several theories of how I thought things might turn out.
I shall definitely be reading Sophie Flynn's previous book and shall look out for any future ones as well.
Emily loves her four year old twins, and feels blessed. However she's tired, and has had a really rough year. To cope, she reached out to a mums group online, and bonded with a person on there, someone who understood Emily. Emily told them her deepest secrets, the ones that would destroy her life if they came out. Now that same person has found out who Emily is, and they are determined to broadcast Emily's secrets.
This is one of those fantastic stories with the 'Internet posts' splitting the story up, so it makes it such an easy, flowing read. The story builds slowly to increase the impact, really making the reader desperate to find out the secrets. Emily doesn't really help herself within the story, some of her actions are definitely questionable.
Brilliant story that had me gripped the whole way through!
This was actually a really good psychological thriller I have read!
Emily has recently given birth to twin girls, Ella and Lara. Just like any typical Moms, she is dealing with all the things that Moms are doing and soon she joins an online forum, for the Moms. There she meets a stranger with a user name Two Is Trouble and soon she gets involved in the forum. Soon, she realizes that after she shared a dark secret, someone was stalking her...
The story is told mainly from Emily's perspective, which in my opinion is an unreliable character--which is normally a good thing in nowadays psychological thrillers. As reader, do you trust Emily, do you believe her or do you think Emily is insane? So I like how the author created that scenario as well. We also see that someone is really out to ruin Emily's life and as a reader, we wonder, what that dark secret. The ending was what actually blew me away when the secret is finally unraveled and the ending itself was totally unexpected which completely blew my mind away.
If you like a psychological thriller that will put on the edge of the seat, then this book is one for you--worth five stars!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Hera for ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.
Quick and engaging read. Easy for readers to relate to in this day and age where communicating online with people we don't know is commonplace- especially for moms who need support and feel alone. Proof of the risks that we never know who we are the communicating with. It was easy to feel the emotions of the Mom througout the story- I felt that the characters and storyline was well developed.
When Emily shares her secrets on a mum’s online forum she lives to regret it when she becomes plagued with a stalker. With being a mother of twin girls she also worried about their safety as well, but the stalker won’t leave her alone and increases the pressure on Emily to come clean of what she has did many years ago and she is keeping secrets from her husband as well. It’s a good physiological thriller that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre, that said it didn’t quite keep me gripped like other books do,but it’s a good a 4 star read.
This book was amazing! Everything a modern day thriller should be. I loved the characters, I loved the story, I loved the suspense! 5 stars!
This book was amazing it had characters that I love and right from the beginning it grabbed my interest. I love how there was no soft build up to all of the mystery it was like the author just threw you in sink or swim Style and it worked. This book is all about our main character Emily who feels overwhelmed when she gives birth to twin girls. Not sure how to cope she joined the mom's Forum online to help her cope, meet twin spirit, and also unload her deepest secrets, secret she doesn't even share with those around her. Things are going great but it isn't until Emily gets contacted by a member of The Forum when she decides to quit and go back to a normal life that things really blow up. This person knows all of Emily's darkest Secrets both personal and professional and will stop at nothing to ruin her life as well as her relationship. I loved how this book was told you Emily's point of view because you could really feel the terror of what was happening but the compulsion to figure out who was behind it at the same time. The ending was nothing I could have ever seen coming. This book will have you both on the edge of your seat and gasping for air unable to get enough. I'm very glad I got the chance to read this novel and I can't wait to see what this other comes out with next.
Loved it! It's not the most fast paced but it does an amazing job or slowly elevating the unsettling, tense atmosphere and really getting under your skin. I can't say the big reveal was a surprise, it was quite obvious early on but that didn't take any of the enjoyment out of the book. The characters are well written and relatable. The plot of oversharing in the Internet is also quite relatable in this day and age, as is the struggles and conflicts felt by mums. It's actually quite a compelling story and it really does have you empathising with the main character, whilst also understanding the motivations behind the jther characters who are also just trying to do the best they can with the information they have. A well written clever domestic noir. Highly recommend
