A book about the benefit of kindness! Ronnie is a reindeer at the North Pole. however, unlike the other reindeer, he doesn't like Christmas, and is always grumpy. One day, Santa needs Ronnie's help delivering presents. Ronnie knows though he can't pull the sleigh by himself. He decides to be kind to the other reindeer and then realizes why it's good to be kind! Very cute!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… except if you’re Ronnie the reindeer! Ronnie is a grouch and prefers being left alone, never participating when his peers invite him to join in the festivities. When Santa asks him to deliver presents on Christmas Eve, Ronnie must ask the other reindeer to help him carry out this task so that the children won’t be disappointed on Christmas morning! Ronnie knows he has not been kind and worries the reindeer won’t want to help him because of the way he’s treated them. Ronnie quickly learns the value of friendship and kindness. This book is so very cute and I highly recommend for parents, teachers, and librarians who are looking for a holiday book to add to your collection! The illustrations are phenomenal!🎄❤️🎄

The Grumpy Reindeer is a cute Christmas story about Ronnie the reindeer who learns to be a good friend and treat others the way he'd want to be treated. Ronnie is a grumpy reindeer even though it's the most wonderful time of the year! While all the other reindeer have fun and play, Ronnie would rather be alone and doesn't take up any offers to play. One day, Santa tells Ronnie that he needs his help but Ronnie realizes that he can't do it all by himself. He needs the help of others but he's been so grumpy to his friends that he's not sure they'll want to help. What can Ronnie do?
This is a cute book about treating others the way you want to be treated and learning how to apologize when you've been a not-so-great friend. This would be a great book to read during the winter holidays, especially in the classroom when young students start to get restless and antsy before break. Thank you NetGalley and DK Children for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely adored this book! The graphics are adorable, the reindeer characters are fun and the story is a feel good lesson for children (and all). The author did a great job with the flow of the story, the mix of the story text and character word bubbles and emotion. I want to pick up a copy of this one for my Christmas book stash :-)
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me the eARC of this beautiful children's book in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
5 star!!!!
Ronnie is grumpy at Christmas time and burns bridges with his bad attitude. Through the process of teamwork, he becomes the happiest reindeer.
The Grumpy Reindeer is full of colorful illustrations. It tells a story about a reindeer who finds kindness and cheerfulness brings happiness to his own life as well as others. It’s the perfect story to read before Christmas.
Thank you NetGalley and DK for the opportunity to review this book.
You know Dasher & Dancer & Comet & Cupid…but do you recall the GRUMPIEST reindeer of ALL?!!
With the adorable illustrations and Christmas themed storyline this was a really fun book to read. While there is a clear them of kindness developed in this story, I also saw another perspective. What if Ronnie was neurodivergent and social gatherings and loud parties really bother him? I thought even, perhaps he was not participating with the other reindeer because he maybe even had trouble socializing with them in the same way. This is a great way to present all of these differing points of view to young readers in a fun way. What a great way to engage in this conversation with our young reader to get their opinion on this matter too.
Emotional awareness is really important at any age and being grumpy is sometimes ok too.
Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & DK, DK Children
The Grumpy Reindeer would be a good story for younger children, but it almost seems as if something is missing. Ronnie doesn’t like Christmas, but no reason is given why. Does he just dislike it because he is always grumpy? Why doesn’t he like doing things with the other reindeer? And why does his attitude only change when Santa asks him to help if he doesn’t like Christmas? It was a nice turn to see Ronnie apologize and befriend the other reindeer, and save Christmas at the end, but it just felt like something wasn’t fully there.
A sweet, festive tale to teach us all the beauty of friendship and that it's OK to need some help sometimes! Ronnie is a grumpy reindeer who just wanted tonbe on his own and not talk to any of his fellow reindeers. But when Santa calls on him to help, and he can't do it alone, so hes forced to reach out and ask for help, and ends up finding out that having friends can make you so happy! Beautiful illustrations and a lovely story for Christmas time.
This is such a great secular Christmas story about a grumpy reindeer named Ronnie 🦌 This book has an important message about love, friendship and most of all - kindness! The illustrations are cute, fun and vibrant and Ronan (three year old) loved them, and the story! This immediately put me in the Christmas spirit (Christmas in July right?!) And I can't wait to get this book this fall and read it during the holiday season.
Thank you FK Children a digital copy of this book! This book is due for publication 9/6/22 and I definitely recommend it!

Very cute story about friendship and kindness. Ronnie, the Grumpy Reindeer, learns to overcome his grumpiness to save Christmas. My 4 year old son loved this book. I can see adding this to our library and/or classrooms. Beautiful artwork.
This was a cute, short children’s story with a cute message. I can’t wait to read it to my kids during the holiday season.
The illustrations were really cute too.
Would be a cute Christmas Eve present.
This was a sweet, secular Christmas story with a message of kindness.
The grumpy reindeer doesn't fit in with the other reindeer because of his sour attitude. Can he learn something new in time to help Santa and save Christmas?
My kids enjoyed this story. The illustrations are colorful and friendly. I prefer message of intrinsically-motivated kindness, but at least the reindeer is trying to help Santa. This book would make a fun stocking stuffer for toddlers and preschoolers.
Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for an advance copy in exchange for our honest review!
aside from halloween, christmas is one of my most favorite holiday. this book is so cute it gives reindeer rudolph vibes but with the grinch. i like although ronnie was a grumpy reindeer he still didn’t want to disappoint the children with no presents. the colors were vibrant the illustrated photos were beautiful and cute

This was super cute, the illustrations were beautiful, and what a great life lesson for the little ones (that some adults could really use too!).

This picture book is a great new Christmas-themed classic children are sure to read again and again this holiday season! The story is about a grouchy reindeer who learns that kindness and helping others feels really great and can make even the grumpiest reindeer happy after all. Filled with nice detailed pictures, cute speech bubbles and a little bit of Christmas magic, this book has everything that young children want in a picture book. I would recommend this book for parents looking for a non-toy item for Christmas or for teachers looking to add another great book to their holiday collection. I think this book would be great for children in the age 3-9 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!
The illustrations are cute and the moral of the book is teamwork and a good attitude. A quick read about being treating others as you'd like to be treated.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting this ARC in exchange for my review.
My 5 year old thought this was pretty cute. She did ask if this was like Rudolph so she caught on to the similarities at the start but I think it’s a cute way to revamp an old story.
Thank you Netgalley and DK for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
#TheGrumpyReindeer was a cute story about a reindeer who is different from the other reindeer. While all the others are enjoying the most wonderful time of the year, the grumpy reindeer is, well, grumpy. Thankfully he's not so grumpy that he ruins things for everyone. This is definitely a cute read before Christmas on our countdown to Christmas reading list. This copy was given to me by #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Love these illustrations! And I love that Ronnie learned the art of showing kindness AND that the reindeer love working as a team. I'd love to know why Ronnie was so grumpy from the get-go though.
This book is a great example of attitudes which teaches a lesson using the reindeer and Santa. Great holiday book and stocking stuffer.
This is a cute holiday book about The Grumpy Reindeer, Ronnie! This was a really fun book to read. This will be a great tribute to Storytime!
The Grumpy Reindeer is a cute and sweet little holiday story!! Children’s Christmas books are my favorite to read and I’m so excited to add this one to my collection! The bright, beautiful illustrations draw you right in and grab your attention. The lesson in this book was wonderful too, teaching children that it’s important to have a good attitude and to be kind to others.
Thank you DK books and Net Galley for an ARC of this in return for my honest review!
Ronnie the Reindeer is a grump. He discovers that helping others can help make him happy! I will love using this title with my first graders especially as we learn about character strengths of helpfulness and kindness.
My daughter absolutely loved this book about kindness and the cute grumpy reindeer who is really just cute! Can’t wait to purchase the hard copy for her when it becomes available.
One of Santa's reindeer keeps to himself and doesn't want any friends or anything. He is just a big grump. But when Santa asks him for help, he learns that doing for others makes life better. I am more used to the bigger comprehensive books from DK, but this one does NOT disappoint.
The illustrations by Clare Wilson are clearly delightful, colorful, vibrant, and very imaginative.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age and also for ESL readers.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from DK/DK Children via NetGalley. Thank you!
A cute Christmas book about a grumpy reindeer. Cause let's face it it makes since that a reindeer would get grumpy around Christmas time.
I had a hard time putting this book down. We meet a reindeer who has a bad attitude when it comes to the holidays. This pushes all the other reindeers away and makes them not want to be friends with them. But when Santa asks them for help they end up learning an important lesson. Kids will have a lot of fun reading this book.
Can this book get any cuter? I loved reading The Grumpy Reindeer (even if it was 3 months before December). Getting me in the festive mood
He may be the grumpiest reindeer but he’s also the cutest! Such a fun little read for bedtime! This book would be terrific in a Christmas pj box! Add some cocoa and a cozy blanket & it’s perfect!
Another cute xmas book to add to the list! Both the story and the art are very cute.I think kids will love reading about this grumpy reindeer!
Perfect little book for the grumpiest of littles [and those who may be introverted and enjoy time alone and therefore come off as grumpy], it tells the story of a grumpy reindeer in Santa's workshop who just wants to be alone. When Santa needs help, he learns that being nice and helping others will result in help when asked and friends you never knew you needed.
Absolutely delightful with some really colorful and lovely illustrations. I loved it.
Thank you to NetGalley and DK Publishing for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute little book. My daughter really liked it as a Christmas book! The only problem I had was that the format that appeared on my kindle was a little odd.
The Grumpy Reindeer is a cute, whimsical tale about how even though someone might be grumpy, it doesn't mean that they won't help out when needed. Ronnie is a grumpy reindeer who does not enjoy Christmas but Santa needs his help. Ronnie is worried that the other reindeers will not want to help him because he hasn't been fun to be around. Santa tells him that if he is kind to the other reindeers, they will be kind to him in return. Ronnie spends time helping other reindeers before he asks for their help. Of course, the other reindeers will help Ronnie pull Santa's sleigh which makes Ronnie the happiest reindeer of all. It's a cute book that shows kids the importance of being kind and how doing kind things for others might just help someone get out of a grumpy mood. The illustrations are also cute and fun that definitely would keep a child engaged while reading.
