Practical Teaching Skills for Diving instructors does exactly what it says on the cover!!
Although not an instructor I have been teaching my son to drive and was struggling with the way I was explaining the correct ways to drive to him. This book breaks it down and is extremely helpful. It is full of great tools for good communications which I think is very necessary for teaching both in the passenger seat and in other areas of life.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kogan Page Ltd for the ARC Copy of the book. My review is my own opinion.
This is a remarkably thorough book for drivers education teachers. I expected a lot of particulars about driving rules but it is far more than that and actually teaches how to communicate best with the students, how to be an effective coach, and more. There are example dialogues to illustrate effective ways of teaching kids to be confident, excellent drivers.
I can’t imagine there is a huge calling for instructional books for driving instructors, but this is a very well done one for those who need one. Newly updated for 2022.
