Description
Adorable, gorgeous, amazing" - just three of the words regularly used by friends and strangers, wherever British Bulldog brothers - Bobby and Bubba - go!
Dividing their time between the town (London) and the country (Warwickshire), the dynamic duo have already starred on television shows, in magazines, and naturally (have you seen those faces?) have their own growing fanbase on social media. Now, they’re the stars of a beautifully-illustrated, short story book to be enjoyed by the whole family, written by former MP, business man and philanthropist, Anthony Coombs.
A Note From the Publisher
Although he has written extensively on political and economic topics, this is Anthony Coombs' first foray into books. He was encouraged to do so by Bobby and Bubba themselves. Whilst relying on the "daddy" Alexander for their everyday needs, they insisted that "grandpa" Anthony use his dwindling literary skills to share with the world their "irresistible charm" and the adventures it gets them into. In any spare time Anthony gets from dog walking, he combines a career as chairman of a FTSE finance company with building houses and overseeing a charitable trust which supports children and young people with physical and mental disability challenges. Following his earlier incarnation as a Member of Parliament, Anthony also likes to write about current affairs.
He loves both football where, despite his father once owning Birmingham City, he is an avid Aston Villa fan, as well as the fancy footwork required in ballet where he sits on the board of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Anthony likes to torture himself at golf, more gently in the gym and to take equal care of his soul as a practising Christian and trustee of Premier Christian Media. Most important of all, he is the proud husband of thirty-eight years to Andrea, and of course the father of B and B's daddy, Alexander.
Advance Praise
“You’re invited into the world of Bobby & Bubba’s adventures... written for children of all ages, especially for families to enjoy together, and particularly with parents in mind who are seeking a way to break the vice-like grip of the mobile phone and internet on growing minds. They're lovable, funny, poignant and full of life - much like Bobby and Bubba themselves.”

BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'Bobby And Bubba's Small Adventures' by Anthony Coombs.
Read and reviewed for Anthony Coombs, Silverwood Books and Literally PR
Publication dates: Hardback 17th November 2022. Paperback Spring 2023. EBook Spring 2023.
This is the first book I have read by this author.
I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous cover and the fact that I am an animal lover as is my 9 year old son.
This book consists of 15 chapters. The chapters are short in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This book is based in the London, England 🏴 , UK 🇬🇧. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture. The fact that I have visited London many times is even better!!! It was so easy to picture many of the places.
This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonists being Bobby Coombs and Bubba Coombs. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.
This book is such a charming book for children and adult's alike. Amazon has placed the reading age from baby to 12 years old but I am 36 years old and I have 5 year old twin boys and a 9 year old son who will be 10 in January and we all loved reading/listening to Bobby and Bubba's adventures and looking at the illustrations. The chapters are lovely and short and each chapter can be read as a story/adventure on its own. It was lovely to watch Bobby and Bubba grow through the years and meet there family Anthony, Alexander, Michela and Anthony along with the other characters such as Alfie. The illustrations were fantastic and my children loved looking at them. They portrayed what Bobby and Bubba were doing perfectly so a huge well done to Adam on his fantastic talent. . They also loved the photo of Bobby and Bubba at the back of the book which helped them to come alive during the story. The book is about Bobby and Bubba who are British bulldogs who live with their family in Chelsea, England. They also have a home in Warwickshire, England and we see them spend time in both the homes as well as the surrounding areas. Most of the chapters include morals that they learn during or after their adventures which I thought was a nice touch and good for children to learn that sometimes actions come with consequences. The boy's adventures were fun, unexpected, memorable and hilarious, well most of them, whereas some had more dire consequences such as when Bubba accidently bit Alexander. Anthony described the areas well which helped to bring them to life when I was reading this to my boys. It is well written and the storyline flows nicely from page to page. I would read a few chapters a day to my children and my son Malaki would read a few chapters in between. Some of the adventures that Bobby and Bubba went on include meeting a tramp in the park (Alfie) and helping Alexander to find him somewhere to clean himself up and get back on his feet, discovering an Angel during the tense times of Covid-19, unplugging exercise equipment, discovering where Bobby's dreams come from and learning many life lessons. It is a very enjoyable book and the hardback is a lovely addition to any child's library. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and my boys enjoyed listening. I am looking forward to reading more about Bobby and Bubba so hopefully Anthony and Adam are busy writing and illustrating the next one already!
My 9 year old son Malaki had this to say about this book:
