From YouTuber Pahla B, a radically simple method teaching menopausal women to lose weight by changing their mindset

With menopause, almost overnight, nothing about your body is the same. Where eating less and exercising more once allowed you to slim down, it now produces little to no results. In this book, Pahla Bowers offers a powerful new method to flip the script on menopause by adjusting how you think.

Using a highly practical approach that targets really unhelpful thoughts (RUTs), she teaches readers how to lose weight and love their midlife body by:

  • transforming their thinking about food—and not fearing calories and carbs
  • practicing moderate exercise, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of sleep
  • choosing a realistic weight goal
  • and never slowing down

Mind Over Menopause gives women the tools they need to improve their health while eating more, exercising less, and turning good feelings into actions. With chapters that include journaling prompts and “Borrow This Thought” ideas, Bowers shows how to use the mind like a compass to steer the body in the direction it wants to go. And in the process, she proves that aging can be a positive change.

Informative well researched and engaging read. I’d recommend this for all women and the men who love them.

This is an engaging take on menopause that focuses on mindset rather than medical intervention. Ms. Bowers’ advice and tools draw from her personal experience coaching women through and beyond menopause, helping them reach their fitness and weight loss goals. That said, it’s not a fitness or diet book but focuses on journaling to discover what one wants in this stage of life.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced reader’s copy of the book.

This book is life-changing! Paula Bowers provides menopause solutions grounded in science. She teaches the reader how to use cognitive behavioral therapy to address the unhelpful thoughts that women experience as we transition through menopause. Her advice is logical, supportive, and encouraging to all women. I would highly recommend this book to all women as they navigate menopause.

This book is different from most books on menopause because of the focus on mindset. The author takes us through a process to clarify our thoughts - are our thoughts helpful? or not? As the title implies, working on our thinking helps as to get healthier across all domains.

This was an interesting look at menopause and losing weight during it. My father was the first person to tell me fat and forty was an actual thing. This book takes a look at the behavior and maybe some untruths when it comes to diet and exercise during menopause. It was pretty eye opening since I asked my doctor for weight loss help and she told me to cut out bread. It hasn’t helped but I have noticed a flatter belly when I eat more. An interesting read for sure.

I’m not quite 50 but I’m close enough that this book is an absolute must read to be prepared. I found this book quite informative without being too technical (or boring).
