This book is already an absolute belter. I couldn't put it down. So many twists and turns. The writing was amazing I just hope we get to meet Janey again. Because one book isn't enough

This is the sort of book I love to take on holidays as you can race through it and feel like you have experienced a thrilling read. The characters are really engaging and well developed and I enjoyed exploring the darker side of life.

Totally gripping from prologue to end this was an unputdownable book.Alex Kane's books are great gangland crime reads that I can't get enough of.I hope there will be more in the series as I'm sure there's a lot more to learn about Janey.

And some men wont take orders from a woman but janey is bo ordinary woman and wont take any disrespect from anyone .young women are going missing in glasglow and the culprit beyond these crimes works for janey she will have her payback.a fast paced thriller by a top author it doesn't disappoint thank you netgallery for allowing me to read the book. another brilliant read from this author so very addictive and gripping. Janey Hallahan rules Glasgow she knows everyone and everything.one of her employees. Who runs Club Envy is on his death bed and handing it other to his stepson Danny is taking over Janey does not trust him he has a problem with women and women who rule. I don't want to give the story away. But Danny wants to take Janey s empire away from her he will do anything to get it. it's just so good highly recommend.

Thanks to boldwood books and netgalley for this arc. I was blown away by this book, also nice to see strong women taking the lead. When janey hallahan takes over her fathers criminal empire after his death, there are things she isnt happy with, the main one Danny Mcinroy who despises women and certainly doesnt want to take orders from his new boss. As danny tries to take his new boss down, but is she 1 step ahead of him?. When a young women is beaten so badly by danny mcinroys hands, she escapes with her life and moves away so he wont finish the job., her best friend martin wants to destroy him, the whilst attending his nightclub 1 night, he is abducted. When rory is tasked with killing martin, he cant do it, what does he do? Even though janey is on the wrong side of the law, there are some things she will not tolerate, what are they? Nice to read a gangland boss with a softer side . Loved this book, couldnt put it down, twists and turns, hope janey will feature in more books?

Another superb read from this very talented author. Alex Kane knows what her readers want and delivers each and every time.

A gangland thriller that will have you gripped from the first page. I didn't want to put this book down and as I got near the end, i didn't want it to finish.
It's time for Janey to take over the family business. A business that for so long has been a male orientated world. Well not any more, Janey will prove she is a force to be reckoned with. Don't mistake her for some weak woman as that isn't what she is. She is strong and fierce and will put any man in his place if needed.

Superb storong Characters with a gripping story line, this book will have you hooked from the start.

This is a well written, gritty gangland thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. Alex Kane certainly knows how to connect with her readers through her writing and has really excelled here, in my opinion. I've devoured this book in just over a day, whenever I had any free time I would pick my kindle up again and continue reading, it was that good. I thought the book started off well and I was drawn in straightaway and the more I read the more I became invested in the characters and the story. As always, there are characters I loathed and hated and I think the author has definitely done their job making me feel this way. There are lots of threads here, and they all begin to slowly come together beautifully towards the end, leading to an expected ending. If you're a fan of gangland, crime books I'd recommend this and don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was thrilled to read the latest release from one of my favourite authors in this genre. I wasn't disappointed! Kane created a gripping gangland story that kept me up way past my bedtime.

Janey, the protagonist, is a likeable character whose sensitive side is portrayed without diminishing her strength. Kane's creation of strong female characters is seamless and impressive. While I briefly felt sympathetic toward Danny in the first few chapters, Kane's ability to make readers detest certain characters is a true talent.

It took me a few chapters to understand who was who and what was happening, but once I did, I was fully invested. The brief, punchy chapters made for a captivating and easy read.

Although it's not my all-time favourite from this author, I would still give it a well-deserved five-star rating.

What a book ,I waited in anticipation for this book to come out. I bloody love Alex kanes writing , there has not been one book I have read that I have not devoured in one night ,
I loved Janey so much , such a fierce but likeable character .
Only down fall is that I have to wait a while for next book.
Alex kane should be up there with the top authors as her books are phenomenal .
Please write more.

I have read all of Alex Kanes books and can honestly say once you pick one up it's really hard to put down until you get to the end.. I certainly had a couple of really late nights till I got this read. Absolute brilliant read, I was gripped from the 1st page and didn't want it to end.

Loads of action in it leading to an ending you certainly can't predict, lots of twists and turns with amazing believable characters.

I loved it, definitely worth the 5 stars, would of gave more if I was able to.

Another very good read set in Glasgow and revolving around gangsters. I liked the characterisation and the plotting. Some characters I absolutely hated, especially Danny! The plotting was interesting, there was plenty drama and suspense with a neatly wrapped up ending. An author I would recommend for lovers of thrillers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Janey is not a woman to be messed with but then neither is her employee Danny McInroy, he hates women and hates having Janey as his boss and sets his sites on bringing down her empire.

Wow what a gripping page turner, Danny is an utterly disgusting human being, but I was so engrossed I couldn't put this one down.

I am so delighted to read in the acknowledgements that Alex is now a full time writer, very well deserved and I cannot wait to get stuck into more.

Gangland thriller Glasgow.

Janey Hallahan is the boss of the clubs and hearing Geo McInroy is on his death bed with cancer, Glasgows most feared gangster, his step son Danny is taking over Club Envy and Carbeth he is not to be trusted. Glasgow will go under, and she needs proof to get rid of him once and for all she knows he is involved in murders and drug rings, she's watching him.

Cor Blimey this is one fast pace read, digging up lots of twisted secrets that are so clever and you never see coming. I do hope this is the start of a new series from this author and we learn more from Janey and husband Ciaran, it's definitely a must read book and would make a fantastic series all round for readers.

Absolutely loved this book I didn't want it to end.I was gripped from start to finish as I do love strong women able to live without following a man.This book is of one of my favourite genre's and readers will love it as I did,the story and characters are so believable and will draw you in and grip you till the end.EXCELLENT BOOK 5*

So Janey is the head of the Hallahan Empire and isn't too fond of Danny. Danny's dad Geo, a loyal employee of Janey's is dying and Danny is due to take over Geo's businesses. Does Danny toe the line??? Does Janey have to slap him into submission??? Or does she end his career before it even begins???

I wasn't too sure of this at first. A lot of characters with a lot of details at a slow pace. When I got around halfway through, the pace picked up, story was intriguing. It could have ended in several different directions. I was eager to see how this one would finish. Will definitely look out for more of Alex's work

A Scottish gangland thriller with a strong female protagonist.
Janey is a fab main character and I would love to see her again in another Kane book.
A good amount of characters with different stories which meant there was a variety of endings that puke have happened.
If you like Martina Cole, Jacqui Rose, Jessie Keane amongst others then this will be right up your Street.

Alex Kane is back and reminding us all why she is just brilliant.

Janey is strong, fierce and doesn’t need a man to fulfil her. In fact, there are men in this book Janey would have for breakfast and spit out when done.

I knew I was going to love this book. I mean I love all of Alex’s books. However, I think this is my favourite yet. This book has given me Martina Cole feels and I’ve loved it.

Janey doesn’t like Danny, therefore he should be worried. As a reader, we get glimpses of why this is the case. We get to know Danny rather well as we read. Personally, I’ve thought he’s a bit of a self obsessed sleazebag.

Kane has created a masterpiece which has taken me to the dark side and I’m not even going to pretend I don’t love it. Janey is FABULOUS!! Definitely deserving of her own series. I have devoured this book in just one sitting and have no regrets. This is the best yet by this author.

The story is gritty with lots of drama, intrigue and suspense and an exciting conclusion that was fitting. I’ve enjoyed reading this thriller and would like to read more of Janey in the future.
