Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, and many twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and a bit crazy lol this story was a bit different for me but I definitely enjoyed reading it! I will definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I started this book and the next thing I know I was finished!! This was a great whodunnit summer read! I was captivated from the very beginning! It begins with a crime scene and a body is found. Then it takes you through the scenes up to the murder. A Bachelorette Party that takes place in New Orleans with all the drinks and drama!! Each chapter is written from a different POV, which I absolutely loved. This was such an easy read from start to finish with a great twist at the end that I really didn’t see coming. If you like Lucy Foley then you would love this story!
.
THE LAST CHAPTER OF THIS BOOK!!
The Bachelorette Party had me hooked from page one. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down.
The plot twist left my jaw on the ground, this whole book was like a real life game of clue and I loved it.
The Bachelorette Party is a multi-pov suspense thriller that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Not only throughout the whole book you don’t know who the killer is but you also don’t know who was killed! This book blew my mind!
Thank you to NetGalley & One More Chapter for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a fast paced and quick easy read, that I enjoyed! Rosalee and her group of girls (some she loves, some she hates) head down to New Orleans for her Bachelorette weekend. Each event they have during the weekend brings the tensions higher, and tempers flying. By the last night there’s a body found, and one of the girls is dead. But who has been murdered, and why? In Rosalees opinion each girl has a motive and a reason she doesn’t trust them. The murderer is someone I didn’t see coming, and the twist that comes in the epilogue was shocking.
If you’re looking for a quick and eerie read, this is it. I absolutely loved the descriptions of New Orleans, and the dark history behind the estate they were staying
A fun, quick read where everyone has a motive. Each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the six women on the bachelorette trip, exposing secrets along the way. A few twists along the way keep you hooked to figure out what really happened that night in New Orleans, and what will be left of the survivors.
Thank you NetGalley and Carissa Ann Lynch for the ARC of The Bachelorette Party!
Overall I really enjoyed this book and the plot. The book follows a group of family and friends that go to NOLA for a bachelorette party and the murder that happens on the last night. While the book did have some twists and turns I wish it had a few more as I figured out all but one last twist.
4.5 stars - Overall, this was a good book. It was a fast-paced, whodunit type of book. It goes through the POV of 6 women who go to New Orleans for a bachelorette party. We are not told who died but that someone dies in the beginning. I was interested in the book until the very last chapter.
Thanks to Harper 360 and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Six women, one body. Rosalee and her 5 guests embark on a journey to NOLA to spend a weekend celebrating her upcoming wedding. Among them are her best friend, cousin, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husbands best (female) friend. With tension running high, everyone can’t wait for the weekend to be over and go home. But someone doesn’t make it home. Who is the killer? What transpired? Detective Smalls will find out one way or another…right?
This book, overall, wasn’t as suspenseful as other mystery novels I have read, however, I would definitely recommend this to a beginner who wants to test the mystery waters or someone (like myself) that needs a break from the twisting psychological turns and gruesome descriptions. And if you like drama that isn’t yours? This is the story for you. I will admit I did not guess the ending. Or the REAL ending, but there wasn’t a real aspect of “kept me guessing” I truly didn’t have one. It could have been anyone. It was different than other novels, neither good nor bad.
The Bachelorette Party was a very thrilling and quick read! I could not put it down after I was introduced to all the players. Loved the different POVs from all the attendees; The bride-to-be, The best friend, The cousin, The mother-in-law, The sister, and The groom’s friend. I did not see the end coming!!! 4/5 ⭐️. Side note: I’m kinda confused because this was published last year?? Oh well! It was a fun read. Thank you, Carissa Ann Lynch, Harper360, One More Chapter and Netgalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book totally freaked me out! It was scary and gripping. I couldn’t put it down! A must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!
This story was exactly what I expected and made the perfect beach read on my vacation. It’s a fast-paced, breezy read that doesn’t take itself too seriously. And it takes place in New Orleans, which is the perfect setting for a murder mystery. It’s told from multiple points of view by Rosalee (the bachelorette) and the women that are accompanying her on the trip. Even though there are six different perspectives, it’s not hard to keep the women straight, as the author does a good job differentiating them and their personalities. The feisty best friend, the witchy mother-in-law, the groom’s hot best friend, etc. About half the story is about their adventures over the weekend and the other half is after the murder victim is found. The reader doesn’t discover who the victim is until close to the end, so that’s part of the mystery, too.
It’s a fun book that keeps it interesting all the way to the end. Several red herrings are thrown in as possible secrets in the ladies’ back stories, but they won’t fool a savvy reader. It’s fine though, because it’s more about the telling of the story than the mystery of it. This author never fails to disappoint and that’s why I always jump at the chance to read her books as soon as possible. This one is no exception!
Six women walk into a New Orleans mansion for a bachelorette weekend, and only five walk out.
The Bride To-Be
The Best Friend
The Cousin
The Sister-In- Law
The Mother-In- Law
The Groom To Be's BFF
Which one of these women didn't make it out alive? And who in the group hated her enough to resort to murder?
We spend the first part of the book reliving the events leading up to the murder through each characters eyes. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has a reason to kill.
The Bachelorette Party was a fast paced, engaging thriller, and is perfect for someone looking for a book they can read in one sitting.
A quick, easy to read murder mystery.
This story focuses on six ladies who went to NOLA for a bachelorette party. Told in multiple points of view, you learn about each one of them. They come from different backgrounds and each have their own problems. As they are on the trip, tensions get higher between them and one of them is found dead. With only them being in the house, who did it?
The epilogue had a good twist that I didn’t see coming! Overall, I enjoyed this book. I was hooked and wanted to figure out who did it and why. I did feel like their could have been a little more of the “why” explained but it was still good.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 for my arc copy. This is my voluntary and honest opinion.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an automatic five star for me. I knew from only a few pages in that if the pacing continued and the ending was solid... it would be a five star! Everything about this book worked for me. I loved getting every POV and that almost none of the characters were completely likable. There were small twists and turns throughout, but also clues put in to deceive the reader. The setting also really worked for me as a take on "the country house" trope that is so common in mysteries.
How the victim was ultimately revealed was perfect and suspenseful through process of elimination. The ending was a twist without being in your face and absurd and left me completely satisfied. This closed circle mystery did not disappoint!!
The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch
"Watch your back at all time" this is an absolute thriller and chillers for sure. This book has you turning until the end and honestly left you gasping for air for sure, because you will never guess plot twist to this amazing chiller. 10/10
This book was a quick, easy read ! I enjoyed the premise as well as the complexity of the characters and how their relationships intertwined with each other. The author was excellent at describing the different personalities of all the characters and how for some it caused issues. I also liked how it was not drawn out but also easy to follow.
I really enjoyed this book ! All the different POV were easy to follow and made the story more interesting ! All the characters were pretty realistic for the most part as well and I appreciated it ! The book was a lil bit of a slow burn on the beginning but the second half picked up ! A solid 4 star rating !
Thank you for the ARC!
This book was so good! I couldn’t put it down. I loved the different point of view from the different characters. It definitely kept me guessing until the end !
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this ARC to dive into!
Picture it: you, your mother-in-law to be and sister-in-law to be, best friend, cousin, and ...husband's childhood friend for some reason are all headed out of town for your bachelorette party. You're so excited, practically buzzing, right? Except... everybody pretty much hates at least one other person in this bridal party for reasons that have been left unsaid, but will be aired out over a deadly game of truth or dare. Still excited?
Ladies and gentlemen, holy cannoli. I really enjoyed this book, so much so that I read it one read. I didn't have an issue with any of the characters and truly admired how the author made it easy for you to side with each of them as they took over the narration as the chapters went on. My only gripes with the book would be that 1) I often forgot who was narrating the chapter I was reading and had to go back to the start of the chapter, refresh my memory, and then go back to where I was. This could be a Kindle problem, but I am not sure, and 2) the ending of the book was going so so well, until a certain scene right up at the end. It seemed entirely out of character for the two based on how they had been behaving toward one another all along.
All in all, I loved reading this and honestly? I might give it another read... just because, y'know?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a good easy read!! I will definitely be reading more from this author. This is one of those books that you don’t want to put down..I read it in just 2 days. The whole time you’re trying to figure out who died and who’s the killer.
Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to read this book. #TheBacheloretteParty #NetGalley
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
I LOVED this book. What an easy, enjoyable, and quick read. The characters all sucked, but it worked for them. This was a mystery until the very end with both the killer and the killed unknown for sometime.
The writing style was perfect & even though it was from multiple points of view, it was still so easy to follow. This author also titled each chapter with whose point of view it was and what their role was in the story. THANK YOU. Too many authors just give names and make the reader create a name chart, talk about confusing.
I’d LOVE to read more books by this author. Not too long or drawn out, just perfect.
such a fun read! I really enjoyed the story line and the character development. I was kept engaged and wanting to know more about the characters and their journey. definitely will be recommending.
This is the third Carissa Ann Lynch book I've been lucky enough to read in advance and this might be the BEST so far.
A Bachelorette, her (weird) cousin, her (pushy) best friend, her future (awful) mother in law, her future (terrible) sister in law and her future husband's (gorgeous) best friend all arrive in New Orleans for a fun-filled and celebratory weekend. By the end of the weekend, one person is dead.
Money, status, family history and drama, plus loads of food and drinks all stack on top of each other. The mansion where the women are staying is another character added to the story. With the added party atmosphere from New Orleans, solving the mystery of who died and who did it is down to the minute.
Carissa Ann Lynch is a master at creating fast paced thrillers and this is no different. From page 1, I was intrigued and could NOT put this down - in fact, I knocked this book out in one night.
Wildly fun and exciting, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun murder mystery where everyone is a suspect.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.
That twist in the last chapter of the book!!
I devoured The Bachelorette Party in a day, I couldn't put it down. It's like the game Clue with a bit of CSI action going on. It's a fast-paced whodunit thriller with an eerie feel.
It's told in multi povs, set over the course of a couple of days while celebrating the bride-to-be in New Orleans.
I enjoyed how the author introduced each character, how all the women had a motive to kill someone, and yet you still don't know who has been murdered and who is the killer until the very end. Even during the festivities, there are high-tension scenarios that create this foreboding mood. Even the descriptions of the estate they were staying at were creepy with its dark history.
I highly recommend this entertaining thriller, full of secrets and a jaw-dropping twist.
Thank you Netgalley, Harper 360, and Carissa Ann Lynch for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! I devoured it in a weekend. From the characters to the alternating views, this book had me hooked from the first chapter. This is a classic whodunit with layers of female friendship and the cattiness that comes with it added in like a delicious triple layer cake. This was a wild rollercoaster ride of a book and did not let up until the very end. The drama between all of the women and their relationship to Rosalee made this book very relatable to real life. I highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of thrillers or suspense.
6 women-1 body! The bachelorette party begins on a Friday night; all six women are excited for a chance to escape their everyday lives. But then friendly rivalries turn vicious, and a game of truth or dare turns deadly. Each woman has secrets and resentments. No one likes or trusts anyone at the party. The story is told from the six people attending the bachelorette party's perspectives. A game of truth or dare turns deadly, by the end of the weekend, one of them will be dead. The final twist, I never saw coming. This well written story held my attention throughout. #netgalley #thebacheloretteparty
I enjoyed this page turning thriller. I love the format and how it was told from the different points of view of the woman at the bachelorette party. I liked the New Orleans setting and the history of the mansion they are staying in. In fact, I wish that the mansion and setting could have played even more of a roll in the story. I liked the game of truth or dare turned deadly and the surprising twists at the end. It was a fun ride from start to finish.
I loved this book! Great characters and a great story! Quick read- I could not put it down. I enjoyed all the characters and the different POV throughout the book. Great ending also. Seemed a little rushed at the end but was still a great book. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper 360 and Carissa Ann Lynch for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book!! I could not put it down and I thought all of the characters were done really well. I loved the setting, the vibes, all of it was so good. I can't wait to read more by this author!
Carissa Ann Lynch is an incredible author. This story captured my attention from the first few pages and I was hooked. I finished this book in one setting and still have thought about it days later.
A bachelorette party set in the Garden District of New Orleans in a beautiful Greek Revival that may or may not have a sordid past. This book switches perspectives between 6 women.
Rosalee- the bride
Elizabeth- the future mother in law who would rather have her son (Asher) marry Georgia
Bre- the future sister in law, rude and a little snobby with a small problem
Tinsley- the cousin, Rosalee's basically sister growing up
Mara- the best friend, met in college
Georgia- the groom's best friend
Each of thees women have problems of their own, and the author does an incredible job developing their story and personalities. I loved getting to know each woman more, and who they really were and what their demons are.
Who was murdered? Who had motive? I love that each chapter was from a different person. The author painted the setting of the book so well and I loved imagining the mansion they were staying in. The twists and plot of this novel kept me guessing until the end and I was mind blown. I absolutely loved it. It was a quicker read and the story did not drag on.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for pure escapism. I loved the setting in New Orleans which provided a great atmosphere throughout the story. The plot was easy to follow, but still managed to include a nice twist that kept me engaged until the end. The characters were also well-developed and easy to follow along with. Thanks for the advance review copy.
It should have been a great party. Instead someone ended up dead. Whodunit? All the attendees are given a chance to tell their stories.
“But all the filters in the world can’t hide this sort of darkness.”
This book is multiple POV as we go through the weekend and the events that lead up to the mystery. It caught my attention right off back and I did lose some interest after a while but I was happy to find out who it was.
“A monster in a party dress is still a monster.”
The 6 women:
✨The bride-to-be (Rosalee) - recently moved to a farm house with her fiancé. Before her trip she notices a recurring membership charge from a place that her fiancé has been going to.
✨ The best friend (Mara) - the loud, fun takes not sh*t friend. But at the end of the day she’s not a great friend as she portrays.
✨ The cousin (Tinsley) - she paid for majority of the party/ weekend. She’s very weird and is obsessed with the house they stay in.
✨ The mother-in-law (Elizabeth) - she would rather have Georgia has his sons wife instead of Rosalee. She very up tight and judges Rosalee a lot by her clothing style and how she carries herself.
✨ The sister-in-law (Bri) - very rude and clearly judgmental to Rosalee. Her actions easily display she has her problems she needs to work at.
✨ The groom’s friend (Georgia) - of course I didn’t like her right off bat and she has things she’s hiding.
It was a fun, twisted ride and I still enjoyed it in the end.
“I thought I could trust him with my life, but perhaps that wasn’t the case…”
Thank you Harper Collin UK and Netgalley for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts.
I gobbled up this book in one day because I just don’t want to stop reading. I kept wanting to learn more about the characters and what happens next. Everything was so well written and flowed beautifully. Plenty of mystery and intrigue all throughout. This is a new author for me and I have a feeling anything else she’s written won’t be a disappointment! A great find!
Thank you to #NetGalley and #Harper360 for letting me read this book. This is a clever ‘locked room’ mystery with an interesting cast of characters who all have something to hide.
This mystery had good pacing, a gothic setting, and a cast of unlikeable characters. I would recommend this book for people who are fans of books like Ruth Ware's The Lying Game and Lucy Foley's The Hunting Party. I liked that we also got glimpses of the detective's thought process and background as she put the pieces together.
A perfect whodunit, with expert twists and turns, and a fast-paced story!
This was such an enjoyable book to read, and I actually read it in one whole sitting! This book is just super binge-able due to its mysterious story, classic mystery tropes, twisty plot, and perfect pacing. It is one of those books where you feel like you know what's happening but you actually don't fully know. Up until the very end, this book surprised me and it was just so addictive.
Also, all of these characters were very complex, and some of them were loveable while others were a bit more black and white. Clarissa Ann Lycnh was fantastic at making you dislike a character but also making you feel bad for that character, and it really played with your emotions while reading the story.
This book really achieved what I think is the best thing to have in a mystery book, which is an emotional ride. I went through a whole rainbow of emotions from anger to shock to happiness to confusion. It was really just expertly done.
SUCH an enjoyable and fun ride and I would totally suggest this book to any mystery lovers who want a fun but twisty book!
Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for a chance to read and review this book!
I enjoyed the growth that the main character, Rosalee, showed throughout the book. I enjoyed seeing the interplay between the personalities in the book. I enjoyed reading this book and couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this quick and fun read. Not sure if this falls under “cozy mystery” but that’s what it seemed like to me. The different perspectives were entertaining and interesting to follow. I loved the setting (New Orleans), the premise (a bachelorette party), and the cast of characters (women with complicated relationships who may or may not hate each other).
I have to start by saying I love thrillers written in the style that Carissa chose here. The point of view from each person involved helps open up the story and give us an insight to what each person is thinking and you get to see their secrets revealed in a more intimate manor.
The pacing of the story was fantastic, I had a hard time putting it down as you see each persons secrets and lies come to light,
The cousin, the best friend, the grooms best friend, the sister in law, the mother in law and the bride.
There are a ton of thrillers about Bachelorette parties gone wrong but I could not put this one down when I started reading it.
I won't be posting any spoilers but you'll stay hooked from start to finish as you have to question who each person really is when their secrets come out. You'll start out liking someone only to realize they really weren't who you thought they were.
I haven't read any books by Clarrisa Ann before but she definitely gained a new fan with this book, excellent work!
Thank you Clarissa and Net galley for allowing me to arc read this wonderful book.
The Bachelorette Party is everything you hope your party wouldn’t become. Told by 6 different viewpoints, the story evolves as you can see each person’s perspective leading up to and after the murder of one of the girls. This book was twist and I never expected how it all wrapped up! #TheBacheloretteParty #NetGalley #Harpercollins360
Six women on a bachelorette party weekend getaway in New Orleans........what could go wrong?
"The Bachelorette Party" starts right off with the murder of one of the participants. The weekend had been carefully planned, set at an amazing Louisiana estate with a dark history. Complete with servants, lush rooms, and plenty of pampering and partying on the schedule. The bride, her cousin, her best friend, and the grooms mother, sister & his best friend form a diverse group not totally filled with love.
This tale will keep you guessing and entertained with a twisty story.
I admit I stayed up late to finish.
Yes, I would recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley the author and Harper 360 for the opportunity to read in exchange for an honest review.
The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch is a riveting murder mystery set during a bachelorette weekend in New Orleans. The story follows Rosalee, the bride-to-be, and a diverse group of attendees as their celebration takes a dark turn when a game of truth or dare leads to murder. What sets this book apart is its unique narrative structure, with alternating chapters from different characters' perspectives, and the clever use of police interrogations to keep the victim's identity hidden. Lynch's storytelling prowess shines as she skillfully develops each character and weaves a suspenseful and engaging tale that will keep readers guessing until the very end. It's a must-read for mystery enthusiasts seeking a thrilling and well-crafted whodunit with a personal touch.
I would first like to thank NetGalley, Harper 360, and Carissa Ann Lynch for providing me with a copy of The Bachelorette Party for my honest review.
The Bachelorette Party is about well, a bachelorette party taking place in New Orleans. The story follows the bridal party through their celebrations of the upcoming wedding, leading up to the death of somebody in the house. Throughout the book, you do not know who died, or who the killer is.
As I was asked to give my honest review, I will say that when I began this book, I did not expect to like it. I’ve always disliked the New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme or aesthetic so when the setting of New Orleans was presented, I lost a bit of interest.
The story drew me in, learning about each member of the Bachelorette party, their secrets, and their lives. The author left off each chapter with a cliff hanger, making you want to continue reading.
I’ve read a lot of books where there’s a murder, and the entire book is describing the lives of the suspects and their motives for the murder until eventually the killer is revealed, and I’m generally disappointed because I am able to guess the killer about halfway through the book. However this book was different, not only did we not know who died, but even when it was revealed, every guess I had for who the killer was, was incorrect.
I am guilty of judging a book by it’s cover, so I was not immediately drawn to this book, but I’m grateful I was given the opportunity to read this book, as I was pleasantly surprised. I love when a book is able to surprise me, and when a mystery is able to stump me. This book is a great read and I would absolutely recommend you read it.
I flew through this one. I think it was a great who done it thriller that had you on the edge of your seat for most of the book. Carissa Ann Lynch does an amazing job of pulling you into the drama that's unfolding. Having a bachelorette party in one of the best party cities in the US, New Orleans, is bound to be fun. For Rosalee, the bride-to-be, it's a night she won't ever forget. With her eclectic entourage, this party of six is in for a big surprise and one of them doesn't get out alive.
I truly loved the suspense in this book. It was narrated in multiple POV (which is my favorite) but each chapter revealed a little bit more and a little bit more. The characters in the book, the bride-to-be, the best friend, the cousin, the mother-in-law, the sister-in-law and the groom's friend had such complicated development, it was fantastic. Each of the characters were likeable and unlikeable in their own ways and I really enjoyed the twists and turns all the way through to the last page. If you like a fast-paced thriller with some good twists, I definitely recommend picking this one up in November!
Thank you NetGalley, Harper 360, One More Chapter and Carissa Ann Lynch for the eARC of The Bachelorette Party in exchange for an honest review.
Publication Date for The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch is 14 November 2023 (the day after my birthday peeps).
The layout of this book was great. I like how the author told it from the point of view of each character and was able to clearly show the personalities of each. The author revealed nothing until the end. There was a perfect amount of detail and storyline.
Wow. Just wow! This locked room mystery was such a great gripping thriller that left me surprised by the ending. 6 star read if I could. If you like thrillers you have to read this page turner.
I just reviewed The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch. #TheBacheloretteParty #NetGalley

Six Women, One Body.
The Bachelorette Party follows the different POVs of the six women attending a Bachelorette party in New Orleans. When their fun weekend turns deadly, Detective Smalls must find out what woman is the killer. Each woman has their secret, but what secret leads to this deadly encounter?
I enjoyed this fast paced mystery. Although this book is under 200 pages, it didn’t feel rushed or completely obvious. The ending left me satisfied but there was a twist at the end I didn’t see coming. This is the first time I have read a book from Carissa Lynch and I am excited to read some of her other work.
The Bachelorette Party comes out on November 14th!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 Publishing for the opportunity to review The Bachelorette Party. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow! Talk about clue on steroids! This was an exciting novel , a classic take on who done it. It was a thrilling to get each woman’s perspective of the events and their skeletons they kept. The detective was great at sussing out the murderer. I was intrigued until the end. Well done. I appreciate the advanced copy from NetGalley and this review is of my own opinions.
The story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept it until the very end. I read this book in one sitting and I never looked back! I enjoyed how the author told the story by changing the point of view to a different party member in each chapter. It really added to the story and let the reader get to really know the characters. The interrogation chapters were awesome too!!! The characters were built up well and I could not put it down!
This was my first book by this author and definitely not my last!!!
Thanks to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter, and Netgalley for the advanced copy. All opinions are mine.
Rosalee and five others go to an eerie, creepy mansion in New Orleans for her bachelorette party. Weird things happen and everyone has things to hide. This was an amazing gothic read that I finished quickly. I can’t wait to read more by this author. Thanks NetGalley and Harper 360 for this ARC that will be rereleased November 14, 2023!
A bachelorette party where no one is truly as they seem? Delightful. The characters were distinctive and you found yourself rooting for the bride... and hoping that your least favorite character would be the one who bit the dust. You find out who the murder victim is in the second half of the book and I was not disappointed.
Thanks to NetGalley for this super fun murder mystery!
I really enjoyed this one! An entirely female cast of characters travels to New Orleans for a bachelorette party and one of them ends up dead. With the amount of venom between them, the murderer could be anyone. The story is face paced, well written, and incredibly fun. Definitely recommend.
Thank you to the publisher for a review copy.
This was a fun fast paced thriller. I didn't know where it was going to go next. It's set in NOLA, now I've never visited, but I hope to someday, but from pictures I've seen I still felt like I was there. The characters were very interesting. It's a big mix of women who although seem like it should be a happy time all seem like they want to pull each others teeth out. I myself don't really have any friends so it was kind of great reading about this group of so called friends not get along. I guess I'm the weird one that doesn't like happy endings to what i read. I think this would be a wonderful thriller to anyone. It would make a great intro if you're new to the genre. I hope to read more from this author again. Let's bring on the thrills, and leave the coconut out of it. :p
This Bachelorette Party would give any Bridezilla hives! Rosalee is about to marry her dream man so what better way to send her off into wedded bliss than spending a weekend in a creepy mansion in New Orleans? What could possibly go wrong you ask? Well, the women invited to the event mostly hate her. Her future mother and sister in law, her hubby’s best friend who is a gorgeous yoga teacher, and her two friends, who may be the type that make enemies unnecessary. Right from the start it’s clear that there was a murder, and each chapter is told from the point of view of one of the characters. They are all obviously hiding something and there are agendas at play. I actually enjoyed this, I had no idea whodunit or how or why. I liked how each character has a distinctive voice, so every chapter sounds different from the rest. The spooky atmosphere gives the read a Gothic vibe and I was invested in the characters. The detective was a little underdeveloped, in my opinion, but I didn’t mind it, since she’s not the focus of the book. Twisty and entertaining.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, #NetGalley/#Harper 360, One More Chapter!
A great and thrilling mystery with lots of twists and turns. What was supposed to be a fun weekend celebration quickly turns into a whole lot more when no one can seem to get along. The future bride and her new in-laws, the best friend and even her own family. When the going gets tough, these girls put up a fight! Lots of drama, back stabbing and more in this addictive new thriller!
ARC Review ~ The Bachelorette Party~
*******************************************
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have a love for thrillers and when I read that this one was set at a bachelorette party in New Orleans I was excited to see where the story went. The formatting of this book is my favorite, part one being the build up, part two the interview of the suspects and part three the sum up. The build up gave me lots of questions, hinting at a secret each character had and I liked how the secrets were revealed and explained in the detective’s interviews. Even the victim’s identity is yet to be revealed until toward the end. It does make it hard for the reader to solve the mystery along the way as many reveals happen later in the book but I did enjoy that surprise twist of it all.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for this ARC

WOW! Finished this in one day, I could NOT put it down. The story is told through the POV of all 6 characters in each chapter attending a bachelorette party in New Orleans - lies, suspicions, a murder, a twist - AMAZING! I loved seeing the story unfold from different views and VERY different personalities of each woman. AND the ending?! Just WOW!
THANK YOU to the author, Netgalley and Harper 360 for this amazing ARC in return for my honest review :)
A perfect mix of mystery and suspense -- think Clue: The Bachelorette Version! The book kept you guessing the whole time who the victim and killer would be. Throughout the beginning, the author sprinkles eerie foreshadowing for all the characters, keeping you on your toes while revealing their own worries or insecurities. The description of New Orleans and Bourbon really took you there and made you feel like you were on the trip with them, which she also got the accuracy of bachelorette trips spot on. The story and banter between characters kept you drawn in and I liked how each chapter was a different character, but I found the plot twist a bit anti-climatic and almost had it figured by the time it was revealed. I was not affected, but there should be trigger warnings for some of the topics discussed. Overall., this was a great, fall thriller and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This was a classic case of “Who dun it?” with plenty of finger pointing, lies and blatant hate for one another. The multiple POVs give you a great insight to the character development, along with the plot development. I was definitely shocked at the end of the book when the truth about the murder was told. It was a good, quick read full of catty behavior and jealous women.
Thank you NetGalley, Harper360 and Carissa Ann Lynch for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Title: The Bachelorette Party
Author: Carissa Ann Lynch
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Six very different women attend a bachelorette party at an old house in New Orleans and one doesn’t make it out alive. The attendees include Rosalee (the bride to be), Tinsley (the cousin), Mara (the best friend), Elizabeth (the mother of the groom), Bri (sister of the groom), and Georgia (the groom’s beautiful best friend). The story is told from the points of view of all six women. It starts with a murder scene but we don’t know who was killed and who did it until the end. They all have secrets they are hiding from eachother and more information about each character is revealed as the story continues.
This was a fast-paced page turner that kept me hooked from the very beginning! I loved getting to know each of the characters while trying to figure out who was behind the murder. I will definitely read more books by this author in the future!
Thank you to @netgalley and @harpercollins360 for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch is an excellent psychological thriller with well developed characters and lots of secrets and twists and turns .A well written fast paced plot that does not let up makes it an entertaining read
I would like to thank Netgalley & Harper 360 for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review
The Bachelorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch is a fast paced well written book which is made even more interesting due to the unlikable characters and a surprise ending that I didn't see coming .
I would like to thank Netgalley & Harper 360 for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review
When I say this book has twists....I mean twist that could cause injury!! The final twist OH MY!!
I read The Bachelorette Party in less than 2 days!! It is unputdownable!! There is a ton of action and you are never quite certain who is good or who is bad!
Bonus it is set in New Orleans which is one of my favorite fun yet creepy places. It was literally the perfect setting for this book!!
You need to read this trust me!! Thank you Netgalley, Harper 360, and Carissa Ann Lynch for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so amazing! And the ending???? I did not see that coming! It was so well written and will definitely keep you guessing up to the very last page.
4.5 ⭐️ Rosalee is getting married and her bridal party consists of her best friend (Mara); her cousin (Tinsley), her mother-in-law (Elizabeth), her sister-in-law (Bri), and her fiancé’s best friend (Georgia). There’s tension, there’s secrets, and there’s murder. Who will not make it to the wedding? And who did it?
This was such a fun read!! It was multiple POV and I appreciated the variety of personalities and secrets presented. I didn’t know what to expect from the reveal, and I liked how it ended. This was a super quick read, I could’ve done it in one sitting if I hadn’t been busy. Would def read this author again!
A bachelorette party in an old New Orleans mansion ends in murder. Who is the victim and who is the murderer? Was it the bride-to-be Rosalee, her timid cousin Tinsley or her overbearing best friend Mara? Or was it her disapproving future sister-in-law Bri and judgemental mother-in-law Elizabeth? Or maybe it was the groom's best friend Georgia?
Carissa Ann Lynch effortlessly builds suspense as each chapter is told from each person's point of view as the weekend wears on. At first you will judge each character, but slowly Lynch strips back why they may behave the way they do. The second half of the book is then switched to third person narrative of Detective Nina Smalls interviewing each attendee.
There were enough clues and a few red herrings to keep me guessing along the way. I'd read one chapter and think 'yup you are the victim and X murdered you'. The final twist was also a lovely touch. Just when you think you know everything you don't! The Bachelorette Party is a solid and pacy mystery that had me hooked right until the end - exactly the sort of murder mystery to devour.
Thanks to Harper 360, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC.
Rosalyn is set to marry Astor and despite the fact his mom Elizabeth thinks he should marry lifelong childhood friend Georgia her and Aster sister Bree are attending Roslyn‘s bachelorette party in New Orleans. Along with Rosalyn‘s best friend from college Mira and her cousin Finley. Finley‘s mom took Mira in after she lost both her parents on the same day at 14 an are as close as sisters or at least they were. Myra and Finley or the one to planned this shindig but it seems Finley was the one who got stuck with the bill they’re going to be staying in a mansion in New Orleans with a famed murderous history. Unfortunately after the bachelorette party The Mansions murderous reputation will only grow because one of the partygoers is found dead. Trust me when I say everyone had a reason for killing the deceased but she isn’t the only one being threatened because Georgia and the bride to be Roslyn both get threatening notes, does this have anything to do with the eventual death or do they have more than one villain in the story? I thought this was a great mystery and a dramatic narrative and although I wouldn’t call this a locked room mystery like in the description that doesn’t make it any less of a awesome mystery because I found it to be a really good story although I do think the multiple POV‘s sometimes I had to concentrate to remember whose turn it was because everyone except Elizabeth and Bree has a POV and that is a lot but I still think it is an awesome story and so worth recommending if you love great thrillers and good mysteries you definitely love the bachelorette party oh I certainly did. Also due to the fact I live in New Orleans there were a lot of things that were exaggerated or not true at all but it’s not relevant so I took no points away for that I want to thank One more chapter Harper 360 and net galley for my free art copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
This was a fun and super fast myster.thriller. It cycles through the perspectives of all of the characters which I love because it lets the reader collect all of the pieces and put them together like a puzzle. From the start it was clear this bachelorette party was going to be a bit of a nightmare.. The bride to be only really likes two of the invitees and two of the guests appear to actively dislike the bride to be. Rosalee, the bride to be, is a very sweet, if not more than a little naive, woman who has invited her best friend from college Mara, her cousin who is more like a sister Tinsley, her soon to be sister in law Bri who drinks too much, her soon to be mother in law Elizabeth who doesn’t think Rosalee is good enough, and Georgia who is her fiancée’s best friend (and the woman her mother in law wishes her son had chosen). IT’s a recipe for disaster and it doesn’t disappoint. Full of drama and eventually a murder this is one party no one will ever forget.
I liked the multiple points of view and the characters were intriguing. The pacing is fast and there's plenty of tension. The mystery keeps you guessing. I loved the ending.
The Bachelorette Party is the first thriller in forever that has managed to surprise me. However, it was not the mystery or the ending that surprised me, it was the characters. I usually find myself absolutely detesting nearly every character in a thriller, but this was not the case with The Bachelorette Party. While I wouldn't say that they were one hundred percent fully fleshed out, they managed to capture my imagination and I could find myself rooting for most of them. The story was made so much better by having glimpses into each character, without so many perspectives making the story feel overwhelming. It truly is a testament to Carissa Anne Lynch’s story telling.
The characters were enhanced by the beautiful setting of New Orleans. The rich atmosphere of the city and the wicked house elevated The Bachelorette Party above many other same-y thrillers. Spending most of the book not knowing who was killed also added to the atmospheric effect. My one complaint here is, though the house was beautifully described and drips with atmosphere, I would have loved for it to be even more connected to the actual story.
The tension that led up to the conclusion of the story was beautifully done. The story was added to by leaving each chapter on a bit of a cliffhanger. This made it very easy to devour the entire book in a day, because there is always information being provided. The actual conclusion was the only part that felt like the novel was missing some finesse. While I appreciated the conclusion, the ending felt too fast for something that had been building for so long.
Overall, I would recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a quick, atmospheric read as the days are moving closer to a new year.
⅘ stars
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper 360 for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions.
This book is definitely an interesting thriller that was an entertaining read. I love that it was set in New Orleans and the culture was tied into the experience. This was absolutely a who-dunnit book that also was a who-was it done to? The secrets that continued to pour out of each guest at the bachelorette party was enjoyable to try to piece together who had motive and who could've been the one to have perished. I did not feel there was too much time spent on dull topics, instead it was a rather quick read that got right to the point.
Rosalee is engaged to Asher and her best friend, Mara, wants to give her a bachelorette party to be held at an old mansion in New Orleans. Also invited is her Elizabeth, her mother-in-law (to be) who doesn’t approve of Rosalee. Also, Asher’s sister, Bri, who is unmarried and not very feminine. Add to that, Tinsley, who works at a bookstore and loves books is coming. When Rosalee’s parents were killed when she was a young teen, she went to live with her aunt and cousin Tinsley. Last, but not least, we have the lovely Georgia who runs a yoga gym and who Elizabeth wants Asher to marry. A number of characters but all of them have secrets and some have grudges against others in the group.
As they arrive, they are feted with great food catered for them and endless alcohol. As tensions build and tempers flare secrets and grudges are released ending in the death of one of the attendees. Who died and why?
This is one of those good whodunits that makes you feel like it’s a slam-dunk as to the guilty party. Oh, but I was wrong. It’s a good story and one that keeps the reader guessing. Do enjoy!

The Bachelorette is such a fun popcorn thriller that will keep you up all night because every chapter ends on a cliff. If it wasn't for my responsibilities I would have finished this book in one sitting. 🙄
This story is told by the bride-to-be, best friend, cousin, future mother-in-law, future sister-in-law, and the groom's best friend. I know it may seem like a lot of characters but the way the author wrote this book it was seamless. Trust me when I say, that everyone had something to hide, and it drama on of drama.
This book is perfect if you like drama, New Orleans, and a bit of murder. 😂
Thank you so much Netgalley and Harper 360 for a copy of The Bachelorette Party in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the chance to read this book. Frome the very beginning it holds your interest as a body is found hanging at a party in a landmark New Orleans mansion. There are six people at the party and all of them have resentment with one or another of them. There is Rosalee - the bride to be, her BFF Mara from her college days, her cousin Tinsley who at one time was more like a sister, Bri he future sister-in-law, Elizabeth her future mother-in-law and Georgia, her future husbands long time best friend. As secrets each has is revealed the party becomes chaotic and a dead body is discovered. But whose body is it??
Through interviews with each person the detective in charge pieces the story together and solves the case. There are some big surprises but the best part was the descriptive atmosphere of New Orleans. The food, music, bars, beads and Bourbon Street put you right there with the cast of characters. I enjoyed the book and spent some time trying to figure who the body was and who killed her. Very good story and I recommend it.
The Bachelorette Party will hook you from the first page and will never disappoint! What should have been a wonderful weekend party, turns into a weekend from hell with a dead body added to the mix. The animosity the group feels towards each other is palpable. The reasons, unknown. And when the secrets are exposed well, the explosions can be heard all around New Orleans! But who is killed and why is frustratingly saved for the reader until the jaw dropping ending!
Rosalee is marrying Asher Beake, who she feels is the love of her life. A lawyer, he comes from a very wealthy family. Rosalee can’t help but wonder, why her? So as a group of family and friends organize a bachelorette party, to The Big Easy, with most of them not really wanting to be there it seems to go downhill beginning at the airport. The cast of characters, one of which will be dead by the end include:
Rosalee, the bride to be. A bit insecure due to the fact she knows her soon to be husband’s mother and sister don’t care for her thinking he could do much better. She has no family other than a cousin named Tinsley as her parents died when she was young in a car accident. She hopes everybody can just get along. But she is a bit concerned about one thing. She thinks perhaps Asher is cheating on her with one of the wedding party. And that is only one of Rosalee’s secrets.
Elizabeth Beake is Asher’s mother. She cannot particularly stand Rosalee and does not understand why her son would pick this mouse. She had always hoped he and his best friend from childhood, Georgia would finally see they were made for each other. Something Elizabeth continually says! She is still recovering from losing her husband last year and between this wedding and her daughter Bri’s antics she just wants the weekend to go quickly. Although Elizabeth herself does not share everything with her family.
Bri, the soon to be sister-in-law, does not care for Rosalee and tries to embarrass her whenever she can. She too doesn’t want her as a member of their family and will perhaps attempt to make some waves. But Bri is a drinker and sometimes is an embarrassment to herself. Why does she drink so much? We will find out!
Mara, the best friend, does not like either of Rosalee’s soon to be family. And she plans on showing them just how much on this trip. She wants to make their lives miserable. Yes, she’s a bit jealous and yes even though she planned the trip she has no money, but she adores Rosalee and knows how they have been treating her.
Georgia is Asher’s childhood best friend and doesn’t really know why she is here. She can’t imagine Rosalee wanting her here, but Elizabeth insisted she come. She was a nurse but left her position to start a yoga studio. She feels Rosalee has the wrong impression of her. Worst of all, someone is threatening her and could ruin what is left of her new career.
Tinsley is Rosalee’s only relative, the cousin she went to live with when her parent died. At first Tinsley resented Rosalee’s presence as she and her mother had always been best friends. Tinsley, a bookworm who kept to herself always had to work hard for what she had whereas Rosalee was the life of the party and was able to go to college because of the money she was left when her parents died. She still lives paycheck to paycheck and oh, by the way, she’s paying for everything because Mara is waiting for her “windfall”.
Just remember this…they all have secrets and bitterness towards each other. Anyone of them could be pushed to the limit and accidentally, intentionally kill! And the anticipation of the who, what, where how and why will kill you!
Thank you #NetGalley #OneMoreChapter #TheBacheloretteParty #CarissaAnnLynch for the advanced copy.
I really enjoyed this psychological thriller. I finished it in one day because the story just grabbed me and didn’t let go until I found out what was going on. It really picked up during the second half which was when the murder investigation was happening. I enjoyed this writing style from this author and definitely look forward to more.
Thank you Netgalley, Carissa Ann Lynch, and One more Chapter for allowing me the chance to read an advanced readers copy of The Bachelorette Party due to be published November 14th 2023.
I see a lot of reviews that people really didn’t like this but for me I loved every minute of it and the characters were so believable and I couldn’t wait to find out the end!! This is my first book by this author but it will definitely not be my last!!
Rosalee and five others go to an eerie, creepy mansion in New Orleans for her bachelorette party. Weird things happen and everyone has things to hide and Someone winds up dead 💀
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy of this book! Extremely intense multiple points of view narrative made this a particularly gripping read. The characters were so compelling and were rotten enough in very believable ways. I didn’t feel like characters were unreliably drawn into actions and situations that wouldn’t have made sense for them, which made this such a great story!
Seriously the best book! I really enjoyed these characters and appreciated the authors writing
I highly recommend this book! Five stars!!
The pacing of this books is wonderful. It stays high energy throughout. The tense energy is consistent. The clues are dropped at good intervals. I really enjoyed trying to solve the mystery.
I ended up really liking this one! I know that bachelorette party thrillers are a dime a dozen, but this one was very well done and kept me guessing. I loved all the alternating POVs. The author putting each person’s role at the beginning of each chapter was so helpful in keeping all the characters straight. I also liked that we didn’t know which of the women had been killed right away. It reminded me a bit of One of Us Is Dead by Jeneva Rose. If you like domestic thrillers full of catty women, I think you’d like this one too.
4.5/5 stars
This was a fun one, and a fast read. Fast paced and entertaining, I devoured this one pretty quickly. Not only did the mystery sustain you to the end, but the characters, flawed, as they may be, were relateable. I feel like we all know characters like this so it really brought the story to life.
So good! Loved reading the different perspectives and loved the twists and turns. Easy read and so good!
A bachelorette weekend with memorable characters, tension, and murder - this is a fast-paced whodunit with lots of twists and suspense. There are a lot of characters, and while it took me a couple chapters to remember who was who, they were so well-developed it was easy to catch up early on. I felt that I was a bystander at this bachelorette party, watching everything unfold - it was so good!
Fun, fast-paced mystery. Multiple points of view add depth to the narrative, making it exceptionally gripping. The characters, are compelling, flawed, and thoroughly entertaining. The entire story is a rollercoaster of twists and turns that keeps you on edge until the final page. Great read.

Six women are in New Orleans for a weekend bachelorette party. And by the end of the weekend, one of them will be dead, and one will be a murderer.
But I wouldn't call the women friends. And everyone has a reason to want someone else dead.
I loved the premise of this book. I loved the cast of characters and the fact that I couldn't figure out which of them was dead, which was the murderer. Usually I'm better as sousing things out, but with this book, I just had no idea.
I also loved the backdrop, the city of New Orleans, where basically anything can happen. I've always wanted to visit, but haven't been able to, so getting to traipse through the city through the eyes of the characters was a fun escape.
I will say that I wish I had more information on the background of the home, because that absolutely would have added some flavor. And the little twist at the end didn't quite stick the landing.
Nonetheless, this was a great book to finish and my first review of 2024. I highly recommend this if you have a few hours on a flight.
A quick, pulpy murder mystery. This would be a great summer read when you're wanting something just a little bit dark.
Rosalee is about to marry the man of her dreams. But first, she needs to get through her dreaded bachelorette party in New Orleans with her best-friend, cousin, finace's best-friend, future sister-in-law, and future monster-in... I mean mother-in-law. But when a truth or dare game gets way to intense, secrets come out and death follows in.
This is a 6+ POV story, but do not let that intimidate you! I was nervous at first but I actually really enjoyed hearing all the point of views of each character. It had me on my toes and guessing until the very end.
For fans of the following tropes: Monster-in-law, forced proximity murders, vacation murders, and murder mysteries.
Wow this was genuinely such a super fun and fast paced mystery/thriller book for me, and I think this is genuinely such an underrated book in my opinion!
I really loved the New Orleans setting of this book for this bachelorette party themed story, while also being totally invested with the dynamic of these characters relationships toward each other as the plot went on. I love how the book is broken up into separate parts with them being the events leading up to the murder, after the murder takes place, and then the aftermath of what happens after everything dies down. Overall, I really enjoyed the fact that there was a cliffhanger essentially after every chapter which just made me want to keep reading to see what would happen next, and the crazy twists and turns that were in this book absolutely had my jaw on the floor. Also, nothing could have prepared me for the ending of this book at all!
Thank you so much to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter, and NetGalley for a copy of this book!
Was so excited to read this thriller set in the fun city of New Orleans. From the start you know it will be a chaotic trip based on the personalities of each of the women and that death has occurred. The book was told from the different perspectives of all the characters attending the bachelorette party allowing you to decide who you think the villain is in the story. A fast paced thriller that was easy to read! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC
A fun , fast read.
Marrying the man of your dreams is everything, but surviving the bachelorette party ? That’s a whole other story !
6 women excited for , what’s supposed to be an amazing evening, but one game ill change it all.
Thanks netgalley !
Thank you NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my free and honest review. Highly entertaining, suspense filled novel. Interesting characters with a multitude of different personalities that succeeded in adding to the suspense. Looking forward to more books by this author.
I love all Bachelorette party stories and this one was super juicy and fast paced! I read it in one sitting. This would be fun to read with a friend! It was entertaining and fun!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Wow! I enjoy locked room thrillers but this one was better than most.
Perfect theme and setting. Great writing and kept me waiting to see what the ending would be.
I thought this was really well written and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I think it will find readers at our library, so we will definitely be purchasing for the collection.
This was a fun, fast paced thrilled. kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Everyone has secrets to be revealed. loved the setting of a creepy mansion in New orleans. It adds to the eerie vibe of this book.
I love a good, fun, quick thriller where everyone has a motive so pinning down a suspect if hard to do. What's better is that each chapter is told from the a different point of view of one of the six women on the bachelorette trip, each of whom expose the secrets they may be hiding. The twists and turns along the way keep you on the line, desperate to figure out what really happened that fateful night their lives all changed, and what will be left of the survivors.
Stories like this are the reasons why I love thrillers. Please, Please, Please give me more!
Fun, quick read! 6 women, 1 body – all these women had interesting stories and issues themselves – but who was upset enough to kill? And who ended up dead? This was pretty fast paced, had multiple character POV but wasn’t confusing at all. There was the bride to be, the monster-in-law, the sister-in-law who isn’t much better than her mother, the groom’s best friend, the bride’s best friend, and the bride’s estranged cousin – sounds like a perfect bachelorette party! I loved all the drama, the setting of a bachelorette party, and then adding a murder, was perfect. I would have been sucked in even without the murder.
I also really enjoyed the story’s layout – it started from the detective discovering the murder scene in present day, then moved back to the start of the bachelorette party, then back to present day and the detective solving the crime. It also gave some aftermath for each of the characters which was appreciated!
Thank you Netgalley and Harper 360 for this ARC!
What a cast of unlikable characters! This was a fast read and all the twists and drama kept me engaged throughout. I read it in one sitting.
The Bachelorette Party was a tricky book. I didn't think i was going to like it and before I knew it I was done with it. It is an easy read but has a great plot. If you like quick thrillers without a lot of fuss and it gets straight to the story this one would be for you.
The Bachelorette Party was a gripping and vivid mystery taking place in the unique setting of New Orleans. Lynch does a great job fleshing out all of the characters within her story, and builds suspense by telling the mystery through the different perspectives of all of the guests. The backdrop of New Orleans was fun and colorful, even with the murder, and the descriptions brought the party scene to life. I loved how throughout the book, I never knew what was coming next; I always had my own theories and they were continuously proved wrong! I thought the writing was fast paced and fun. Totally worth binging in one night.
Personally, I would have loved to see more of the setting of New Orleans! Similarly, I would have enjoyed going more in depth with the dark history of the mansion, and possibly seeing it more intertwined to today's murder. Still, it was such a fun read! Definitely a 3.5.
