This is a fun guide to inner peace. I really enjoyed it. The pictures are so much fun and the info is great. It goes seasonally, and gives some great ideas and advice. Perfect for those looking to shake things up a little!
Having recently discovered how special almanacs are, I was pleased to see one focused on nature - and I've skipped ahead to August and will read each month in turn from there. Every season is introduced with an overview for the following three months, then a month by month section on the stars, plants, trees, wildlife to look out for, as well as meditation and other holistic practices. This is stunningly illustrated throughout - and I imagine it would be knockout in print! This would make a lovely gift for any nature lover, or treat yourself to it. A beautiful book to revisit each month. Thank you for the chance to review an ARC of this!
First of all I like the nice illustrations. They let me immerse myself in the natural adventure, month after month. The individual sections are well structured. The lyrics let me dream while reading and ground me at the same time. A very inspirational book!
This book is very family-friendly and environmentally oriented. A must for those seeking a simpler way to respect nature and practice mindfulness, with exercises and moments of reflection. A good read.
I plan on reading through this over the course of the remainder of the year as a daily/weekly practice of reconnecting with natures However, I did read through a lot of the content and I am very excited to be including this is my daily routine for the new few weeks. I will definitely be sharing this book with like minded friends.
In to a hectic world, with all the pressures, busyness and lack of hours in the day, comes this book of calm and wisdom to remind us that we're only human. Full of gorgeous illustrations, reading this beautiful book reminds us of the wider, natural world and the part we have to play in it.
Remembering, being mindful of the seasons and living in tune with the natural rhythms of life bring benefits to mind and body.
This is a book that asks to be lived with; not read in one go, but opened up regularly throughout the year so that one might 'tune in' to the various seasons. There are meditations, recipes, advice on gardening and stargazing.
This Almanac encourages its reader to live mindfully, with gratitude and openness. Surely, a recipe book for a happy life.
The Leaping Hare Nature Almanac : Your Yearlong Mindful Guide to Reconnecting with Nature is a month by month book to lift your heart and mind using the beauty and benefits of nature. There are activities, affirmations, nature rituals, recipes all tailored to the season and month of the year. The illustrations are uplifting and you can dip in anywhere you please. It is filled with mediations, mindfulness activities, and practical ways to connect with nature such as growing flowers and vegetables and making things. A beautiful little feel good book that would also make a lovely gift.
If you, like me, are looking for a daily meditation reader, and a focus each month, this is the book for you. It not only has a mediation for each month, but it has information that I find so interesting, about plants and constellations. It truly is a useful almanac based in mindfulness and science. I would highly recommend this to just about anyone who has an interest in those two areas.
It reminds me of a secular devotional that helps me to slow down and think about my life on a day to day basis.
I received this book for free to view from Net Galley for a limited time, but iI am going to purchase it in order to take full advantage of it.
I am recommending this book for therapy. Sorry kids. The adults will need this book more.
“What is a leaf?”
Yes, that’s right.
The book actually answers patiently and you will get a book with all the seasons of the year so beautifully packed taking you to the most insignificantly significant information about the environment we are all thriving in.
I do not think I will ever need therapy as long as I have this book. If you are someone like me who feels anxious without something to read and depends wholeheartedly on books to calm down or de-stress, trust me you will find the peace when you reach the fourth page. That’s how calming and reassuring this book is.
I know this colourful and informative book on nature is meant for young readers but it has cast a spell on me that no other fiction can. I just need the physical copy as soon as possible.
(I want to do a thesis on this book. But I won’t do it here now.)
This book will bring you so much closer to Nature. Kid you not, be ready to celebrate each page with all the beautiful art that’s there.
The book is describing Nature with all the charm the-best-magician-can kind of spell and I am already under this spell.
I don’t think I will ever recover from this read.
Thank you, you magicians in Leaping Hare Press/Quarto Publishing Group, for the spell. The ARC. Calmed and peaced.
A gorgeous month-by-month book to uplift the spirit and mind using the beauty and benefits of nature. The book contains Recipes, exercises, natural rituals, and affirmations which are all based on the month of the year and the season. It is bursting with mindfulness exercises, meditation techniques, and practical outdoor activities like cultivating plants and flowers and crafting items. A charming book that makes you feel warm and happy. I will be purchasing a physical copy of this book to myself and recommending to others who I feel may also appreciate it's wisdom and beauty.
This book has beautiful daily prompts to bring nature into your life. I’ve read through a lot of the prompts and I’m so excited to incorporate this into my daily morning routine. Connecting with nature can be hard if you don’t know where to start.
