Description
A Tale of Two Kitties is the debut picture book from author/illustrator Judith Graves!
Mittens and Boots have nothing in common. Nada. Zilch. Okay, maybe they live in the same house, but sharing is NOT in their vocabulary. They each have their own food bowls, bathing rituals, and bad habits. And they like it that way. Life is glorious until IT arrives, replacing their usual cozy armchairs.
The loveseat.
PAW-lease. This wasn't love. It was revenge. Plain and simple. Payback from their humans for the litter box situation. It really wasn't good. Soon, it's two cantankerous cats against one loveseat, leather-bent on being the new bestie. Setting aside their differences won't be easy for the furry adversaries, but cat naps are calling.
A Tale of Two Kitties celebrates that while each of us is unique, we're similar in all the ways that truly matter.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Adorable. That is what this book is. Adorable. The story is very cute too. Two kitties who think they are not alike at all and begrudgingly share the same home learn, much to their astonishment, that not only are they alike but they enjoy being close to one another.
There is lovely humour in the tale and some very sweet artwork. This would be a fantastic bedtime story or a great book for young readers. I loved it. Five purrs and two paws up.
As a former storytime librarian and lover of all things cats and kittens, I thought "A Tale of Two Kitties" by Judith Graves was super cute and easily adaptable for being read aloud to a group of children. Illustrations are crucially important in picture books, and I loved how these were simple, yet engaging, and provided opportunities to ask a wide range of questions to compare/contrast the kittens. Throughout the story there are chances to discuss important concepts such as opposites and sharing, along with fun cat wordplay like "PURRcision" and "FURgotten." Cat naps may be calling, but don't sleep on this book!
