Description
"Well-written tension and forbidden longing. The angst in this was incredible! Loved every second!"
—Penelope Douglas, New York Times bestselling author of Credence
When I was five years old, I told Toren Grace we were going to get married someday. He’d been my closest friend, my protector, and my rock since the day I was born. But during my senior year, our relationship slowly changed. Silly conversations morphed into serious heart-to-hearts. Innocent friendship turned to stolen glances.
Then one day, an unexpected kiss changed everything.
While that kiss was all I’d ever dreamed of, it knocked Tor clear off his axis. His strong moral compass makes it impossible for him to accept our feelings for each other. Because, not only am I eighteen and fifteen years younger than him, I’m the one person he should never, ever want.
Tor is my father’s best friend—my pseudo uncle.
Neither one of us can stand to betray or hurt my dad, but we can’t keep our relationship hidden forever. Will there be a way for us to find our happily-ever-after? Or will we all be torn apart?

Torn is one of my favorite reads from Carian Coke. This is a taboo, forbidden romance with a 15-year age gap. Kenzi falls for Tor, her father’s best friend and someone who has always been a presence in her life.
I loved so many moments in this: Tor’s dog rescuing, Kenzi’s calligraphy, their penny fountain wishes, Kenzi’s dreams and wanting to be married and have kids, lots of Kenzi taking care of Tor (cleaning his house, making him dinner, some caretaking). I just really appreciated the time they spend apart in this read as well and how it only strengthens their relationship in the end. If you love age gap and forbidden romances, this is definitely one to grab!
I loved every moment of this book. It was well paced and I loved how the story unfolded. I quite enjoyed this one. Absolutely amazing!
Totally hooked on Torn - I did not want this story to end. What started out as taboo ends with a true romance and a happily ever after. Tor and Kenzi are complete soulmates. Carian Cole gives her readers exactly what they were looking for - a heart wrenching, edge of your seat storyline, characters that feel like family as you fall in love right along side of them, so many emotions from laughter to tears and a perfect combination of love and angst. I loved this story and recommend it highly. Best read so far this year. My review does not do this book justice. This will now become my go-to book. This should be a movie!!!
