Son of the Doomsday Prophet

What a wild ride, i could not believe how Noah's world might have been! Noah was very heartbroken over his own tribe and the remaining people of his world, he traveled far and wide to warn them of God's judgment!
One of Noah's three sons, Japheth is shown to be an animal lover, an adventurer, and a fellow builder of the Ark. He meets dinosaur - like animals, sees one of the angels guarding Eden, and makes friends with a Nephilim!
I especially enjoyed the first part of the book as Japheth's adventures were paramount, however the second part gets into some descriptions of evil that are somewhat graphic and troubling, so this book is not recommended for children.

As with any piece of speculative fiction that involves characters or events from the Bible, reservations were in order. However, this was done exceptionally well!

The pacing was very well done, despite the difficulties that lay in telling a story that spans over a century in one life! It's so foreign to the reader's understanding. However the difficulties and triumphs, both physical and spiritual, came at intervals sufficient to neither dizzy nor bore the reader. Even though we all knew how the story would end, I found my heart quickening in trepidation at points.

I also appreciated how the author dealt with the pagan religion and debauchery--he told enough to impress the severity of the depravity on the reader, but he did not dwell on it. The secondary, fictional characters also were well-dressed in the narrative. No paper cut-outs here!

I believe I caught one minor typographical error in this book, and another minor matter of questionable punctuation in one sentence, but this was very, very well done for an independently published work!

I would give this 4.5 stars. My thanks to Netgalley for this book, it is the highest one I have rated thus far.
