"I was initially drawn to the cover as I love winter books and this one doesn't disappoint. I love the unusual setting of Finland and the writer's concept of love after the love story. Edie Browning does a good job of handling a structure that switches between the past and present; follows parallel stories of Lou and her son, Peter; and of withholding information so we keep reading to find out what did happen to Mat and what Lou will do with her life now he's gone.
Well worth a read if you like a love story, a family drama and an atmospheric setting."
