Description
As if surviving years of childhood abuse and narrowly escaping a cult and her mother’s insanity wasn’t enough, Kendra Petty ended up married to a physically and emotionally abusive woman with a hidden drug habit. She tried to make it work. She really did. Despite her success in climbing the corporate ladder, her questionable instincts caused her to stay in a toxic business environment longer than she should have. Because of her warped sense of what was acceptable, and even desirable, she ignored countless red flags. Many times she wondered, “How much more can one person take?” After almost dying, Petty finally realized that the changes she needed to make were so vast and far-reaching that they could only be achieved by exploding the life she had and deliberately creating a new one. For Petty, it began when she realized that she worked for an organized crime family — who she suspects was trying to kill her for knowing too much. Sounds impossible? Well, dear reader, you be the judge.

Fascinating story! I truly could not believe all the author had been through and come out alive of. At every new situation, you wonder how this could happen and just know that the author was thinking "nobody will ever believe this". It was absolutely wild! I commend their ability to relay this story to us in a way that is inviting, funny, and insightful.
