Description

The Roxburys are back, and unexpected passions are beginning to flare. But how long can they keep their new status among the British elite while the ton’s forces conspire against them—with white-hot scandal and a murderer inching ever closer?

Regency-Era England, 1820s. Anne Roxbury, the newly minted Duchess of Westmoure, is still reeling from the events leading to the shocking discovery of her family’s elite status. Despite their mixed-race heritage, her American son, Sterling, has inherited a dukedom and now presides over his father’s estate in a society where social and economic distinctions separate the classes, and suspicion of people of color runs rampant.

The Roxbury family has found allies in the king himself and a handful of trusted friends, including Berkley, the family’s loyal protector, who harbors a burning desire for Anne. But the ton is a ruthless society filled with people who believe the Roxburys don’t belong. When their shipping company is implicated in a sex trafficking ring, the family’s guilt is assumed. How will the already snubbed Roxburys survive the accusations—and who is really behind the horrific acts of violence, murder, and espionage? Can this pistol-packing noble family play the British elite off against themselves and discover the truth?

For the Roxburys, life has always been laced with bitter deceit but punctuated with love at its most intense. It will take more than lies, murder, and passionate affairs to break their stride.

The Roxburys are back, and unexpected passions are beginning to flare. But how long can they keep their new status among the British elite while the ton’s forces conspire against them—with white-hot...

This historical romance was so good. The writing was amazing and I absolutely loved the romance. The plot was very well thought out.

Life is hard. Romance novels should be an escape of sweet proportions. August Jade writes them exactly that way.

No, I’m won’t say how or what happens.., but this book is a hug that lasts as long as you read/remember it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Girl Friday Productions and imprint Krystal Kat Press for an advance reader’s copy for an honest review.

Do not sleep on August Jade Sterling’s Twice a Duchess. I recommend before hand that you read An American Duke, which is helpful in setting the stage for Twice a Duchess even more than the author has done within book 2. While I will not provide spoilers, I will say that Sterling has written a spicy Regency era novel that is a continuation of An American Duke that keeps the reader guessing with plot twists. Again, the Roxburys are changing up the ton and there are some who do not like it one bit. There is espionage, attempted murder, and more in this novel along with lots of love. Do yourself a favor and read Twice a Duchess, it’s a delight.
