Bookishly Ever After

This isn't my usual type of book but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the characters and the setting - bookshops ate my regular haunt and I'd love to own one so this book really resonated with me. More please Mia.

I'm a sucker for bookish books. Reading stories that have a bookish storyline will always pull me in.
Lexi Austen inherited her grandmother's bookstore in DC. As a bookworm, obviously she takes on the ownership of the bookstore. While managing the store, she's also trying to live life, find love.
Dating apps continuously fail her.
On top of that, the rival bookstore just up the corner was bought out a few years back and the store owner is just awful. Lexi watched him as he changed his store into some soulless chain-like box store. She decides to take a page from Jane Austen's work and makes a plan to charm him in hopes to knock him off his game, and save her shop.
This is a hilarious, enemies to lovers, bookish book that I truly enjoyed. There are also little to do lists, and a dog. Those are important!

Bookishly Ever After is enriched by the consistent references to other romance books, such as The Hating Game, and Persuasion. The author's enthusiasm for the genre is obvious not only through these references, but also through her brilliant execution of an enemies to lovers romance.

Enemies to lovers YES PLEASE. I loved every second of this book I loved wonder when they would just love each other already. I was sucked in to see what the other would do to spite the other. The bookishness of the book at times felt like ALOT but it was still a great read.

This is a really fun read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. A modern day You’ve Got Mail, with rival bookshop owners who find their own happily ever after.

Who doesn't love a good enemies to lovers story? I know I do. Bookishly Ever After is a great concept by giving the main characters the same last names as classic authors and having them bookstore rivals that live in Washington DC, but making one American and the other British as a contrast to how different the cultures are.

The sex scenes were lacklustre but what I liked about it wasn't sprung on the reader. There was build up to it. I've read things in the past where there is no build up and its just sprung on you. Bookishly Ever After isn't like that and gives a warning well in advance as to where it is headed.

This was a good debut novel by Mia Page. It's obvious how much knowledge she has of the publishing industry. We need a sequel... STAT!

Enemies to lovers fun, Austen references galore, and frustrating will they won’t they moments. Bookishly Ever After is a bubbly, book loving romcom, which I really enjoyed. Great for fans of You’ve Got Mail.

I love a book about books. I love enemies to lovers. This book delivered what it needed to keep me entertained and it is cute AF! I enjoyed this book for its predictable comfort and cute story.
