Description

Serena is a woman who knows true love is unconditional. So unconditional, she is prepared to put her love’s happiness before her own and let them go if they should want.

The new twentieth century has dawned but in Yorkshire’s booming mill towns, Edwardian extravagance still sits hand in hand with hardship and poverty.

Serena Wilton-Robbins, the daughter of a wealthy merchant banker, appears to have it all until a fateful romance turns her cosseted world on its head and she must leave that life behind with only the clothes on her back to her name.

Slowly, she builds a new life but when love intervenes, her old life emerges from the shadows of the past and Serena is once again thrown into a living nightmare from which this time, she may never recover.

To survive, Serena must make a choice between the man she loves and carving a path through life on her own. However, will the final decision be hers to make in the end?

Five-star review from Goodreads reviewer:

A very well-written book by Jo Priestly. The story grabbed my attention from the start. This was my first read by Jo Priestly and now I am on a hunt to see what else has she written.

Little Robin is an emotional ride if you are an empath. It's a beautiful story told at a good pace. It's about love, betrayal, friendships, independence, maturing, and a mother’s unconditional love. The emotions and care for each other are shown so greatly. The simplicity and peacefulness of everyday life, visiting with your friends or having evening tea with someone talking about your day can bring so much warmth and joy. There was something calming about this story.

Sometimes we need to find our own family instead of living under the false pretence and hatred of our blood relatives. Strangers can give you the lift you need and wait for all your life.

Robin got her new family and it’s a delight to watch their relationship grow stronger day by day. The magic of unspoken words. It's an easy read and something I am sure you will enjoy with a nice cup of tea.
