Such a fun and sweet read. Great for kids who are moving if you need to get them excited to move. It helps to show that it’s okay and they will make new friends even though they miss their old friends. Writing style is easy to understand. Fun for even kids who aren’t moving!
This was such a sweet fun little read for my little one. It is perfect for anyone who has to move house and to teach their little ones that moving isn’t a bad thing and that even though their friends at home will be missed, they will make new friends and that they will be okay, the illustrations were wonderful, and the writing was easy for my child to understand, even though we aren’t moving it still was such a fun read for us both!
This is such a beautiful story to help children overcome the fear of moving to a new place and leaving their friends behind. I enjoyed reading with my 8 year old daughter. She loved the story and the illustrations. We also loved the fact that it’s about state where we live.
This was a sweet story that children can connect to when moving somewhere new. I loved how she was able to find a circle of friends where she lived. Friendship is so important and can be hard for even adults to understand and maintain.
I do agree with author review that it was hard to read at times when the font was either on the illustrations and the white page. Also the letter u was hard to read for my child. He kept stopping on words that had the letter u in them because of the font formatting of it. Overall it was a good story.
Initial thoughts - I'd probably not of picked this up based on its cover. (I'm really sorry)
The story was great for children going through change especially moving house/changing schools etc.
I like how short each of the pages were, they were direct and easily understood - it was also a wee heartfelt story with a lovely message about finding new friends and new adventures.
The illustrations were cute but felt very 80s to me. I still loved it.
Felicia Flamingo and the Florida Friends is an adorable book that uses animals to teach children to find friends.
This book is so cute! I’m a Florida native and a lot of my friends have been moving to other states now that they started their families! I would totally recommend this book for them to read to their kids!!
Beautiful illustrations and cute lessons about moving to a new state. Super cute read for littles!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my review copy!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
I don't remember the name of the story but I know this book reminds me of a story I read as a child and enjoyed. The illustrations definitely look familiar. This was a very charming and beautiful story. I think it will be a hit with children of today! I would buy this book if I had a child of my own!!

A sweet book about change and the opportunities it can present beyond the initial feelings of fear and apprehension. Would be great for a child experiencing a life change. Nice colourful illustrations, maybe have a slight retro feeling - and I liked how the words were formatted around them.
Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
