The bond of family goes much further than blood ties...

Miriam's dying wish was for her son Maxim to be saved. When Helga and Markus Bauer, along with their son Lukas, are tasked with this, they know it will be no easy feat. Life in the Ukraine is harsh and war is coming.

As the Soviet Army expanded their oppression and depopulation of Ukraine, they started to relocate Ukrainian people and the colony of Budny to the icy region of Siberia. This was really well written, it had that concept that I was hoping for and was engaged with what was happening to the characters. Jack Grylewicz wrote this in a way that I was expecting and engaged with what was happening. I thought the cover worked well in this story and had that historical feel that I wanted.
