Open Wide is such a great illustrated nonfiction book about animals and how they use their mouths in fascinating ways. Great addition to a homeschool or classroom library. The text is informational and entertaining and will keep kids engaged for many read throughs.
Open Wide! is a FANTASTIC non-fiction picture book about the mouths of animals across the world. I really loved this one & was fascinated (even as an adult) to learn all about different animal mouths & digestion. For example, describing silk as "caterpillar spit" will live in my head forever lol.
Overall, this was a really delightful book. It was longer than I expected & had lots of fun details on why & how each animal used their mouth. I loved that it included humans & dinosaurs in its discussion.
Thanks to NetGalley, Letizia Diamante, and What on Earth! for the chance to read & review this one! I would highly recommend it!
What a fun books and a great way for kids to learn about animals! My kids absolutely loved it! I loved the information it gave at child's level and interest. Well done! The pictures were so fun also.
This is an AMAZING read! This is perfect for any child who is into biology. Open Wide is educational, fun, and the best part is the kids don't even realize their learning.
We love educational books in my household with two littles (2&5) who could not get enough of this. Each page was exciting to them and they kept wanting to read more and more. I will be recommending this as well as purchasing for myself as we reviewed a digital copy. I even got very curious about all the different animal mouths and learned quite a bit as well.
The illustrations allowed for readers to have a better understanding, were bright and colorful, and made learning more fun.
Thank you NetGalley, Letizia Diamante, and Children's Nonfiction for allowing my family to review.
Thank you to NetGalley and What on Earth! for the eArc!
This is the perfect nonfiction book for older elementary students who are into animals. Kids ages 8 to 11 will love this book that is brimming with facts, cool illustrations, engaging games, and more. Everything is so vibrant,. even the page borders are stunning. This book goes over teeth, spit, tongues, everything that you can think of for an animal mouth is included, and is even compared to those of humans! I love the inclusion of gross facts, engaging questions, and even guessing games on nearly every page to keep the reader engaged and entertained.
This is quite an amazing book on a somewhat niche topic, and I can't wait to buy it for my students.
