This is a really good cookbook. I follow Hari Beavis on tiktok and love her recipes so I was very excited to see that she has written a cookbook. This book did not disappoint. I loved that it was organized by time it takes to cook. That makes it very easy to use. I also thought the selection of recipes was great. Finally, the pictures really inspired me to make the recipes. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book, and I would definitely recommend it.
This was a beautifully designed cookbook full of delicious sounding recipes that included clear instructions for each recipe. Many also include a photo. While the cookbook is British cuisine I think many Americans will like the recipes. I for one want to try the fish pie, chicken Caesar salad, homemade tomato soup, and carrot cake. But I do have a question: do Brits not frost the outside of their cakes? Seems odd to this American!
If there’s a negative for this cookbook it’s the price. Over $30 for a kindle book? That’s a bit much for me!
Thanks to the author and publisher for the e-arc I received via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Oh how I love this book, with 90 scrumptious recipes for comfort food--my fav fare! Organized into chapters by the time it takes to make (from 10 to 40 minutes), each recipe had me drooling and each photo had me oohing and aahing. A winner!
I loved Country Comfort by Hari Beavis! Hari has a way of writing that made me want to curl up under a blanket with a mug of something hot, even though it’s 95° outside. I really appreciated that she took the time to do weights, metric measurements, and imperial measurements. She also gave great substitutions and gave the US equivalent of a lot of the ingredients. I love that she also said how long something would freeze for, and showed where you could do some steps ahead to save time. Very down-to-earth and comforting recipes. I can’t wait to try some of the recipes!
I received a copy of Country Comfort from NetGalley. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I need to buy this asap!
Not only are the photos of the food very pleasing to the eye but the instructions are to the point so it's easy to follow even for those who don't cook(bake) often!
I can't wait to try more of these recipes!
Well...I guess I'm on my way to make myself a dinner乁 ˘ o ˘ ㄏ
Admittedly I don’t use TikTok so I am not aware of this person’s celebrity.
As a home chef, I would purchase this cookbook for 2 reasons: every recipe is simple/comforting, a photo is provided for each of the recipes.
I think a great balance has been found not only in the collection of recipes but in the text. So many cookbooks are way too text heavy, We don’t want to read an essay about each dish.
There are several recipes from this book that I plan on making: Dragon PIe, Marmalade Cake, Parsnip Soup!
This title is not on StoryGraph for me to share my review with others.
A very beautiful cooking book, which gives off the cozy, comfort vibes. All the recipes sound so good and I will totally make some of them, especially the hug-in-a-bowl beef strogonoff.
Country Comfort is a lovely cook and lifestyle book about country living and food. It is divided into three main sections with recipes of three degrees (of time/difficulties). This book offers a nuanced and niche approach and I liked that recipes were of different comfort levels for the cook.
The photos are appetising and inspiring. The overall moods is chic. And the listing of the alternative ingredients is a wonderful idea.
This is such a cozy recipe book, the layout is well done and there's a wide range of options that feel really rustic and comforting. The pictures were really nice, very clear and aesthetic, they fit the theme while also showing exactly what your food should look like. The recipes seem to be easy enough to follow and I can't wait to try some
I've been finding myself in a bit of a rut recently when it comes to cooking dinner, so this book came along at the right time!
The recipes in Country Comfort are divided into 5 sections: 10-minute recipes, 20-minute recipes, 30-minute recipes, 40-minute recipes and baking. The fastest recipes are perfect for busy school nights and most of them would work for fussy kids. Some of my favourites were the chicken quesadillas (great for using up leftover chicken) and creamy chicken pasta, which I am adding to my rota for swimming nights when I only have 15 minutes to get dinner on the table. I'm also looking forward to trying the one-pan salmon orzo and the couscous, sweet potato and pomegranate salad.
As the title suggests, a lot of these recipes could be classified as comfort food and so there is liberal use of heavy cream in many of the recipes. That said, there are plenty of salads and recipes with lots of vegetables too!
One thing I really appreciated was the Alternative Ingredients list at the bottom of most recipes, suggesting substitutions based on what you might have in your pantry (for instance the cheesy fish pie suggests replacing potatoes with sweet potatoes or pie pastry and offers suggestions of different fish and seafood fillings).
A recommended read for fans of Jamie Oliver and dinner makers in need of inspiration.
Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing group for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is incredible. It is well set out and the recipes are easy to follow - I have tried a few out to great success. All recipes are hearty and really stay true to the idea of comfort food.
I have followed Hari for years and I am so excited for my physical copy of this book to arrive!!
I've tried loads of her recipes in the past and they're all incredible
This cookbook offered a delightful browsing experience, with a focus on the ever-popular concept of comfort food. The sheer variety of delicious and healthy meals was indeed impressive. The time-based categorisation of recipes is a practical advantage for busy cooks. The inclusion of substitute ingredients for common allergens or unavailable items is also a thoughtful touch. While the book delivers on its promise of comfort food, a broader range of vegetarian options would have further enhanced its appeal. Ultimately, this cookbook serves its intended purpose well and merits a recommendation, particularly for those seeking familiar, satisfying meals.
This was such a joy and inspiration to flip through. I love the concept of comfort food and having so many delicious and wholesome meals at hand is fantastic. The recipes are structured according to the time needed to prepare them, which is very helpful. I also really like that most of the recipes list substitute ingredients, in case of allergies or if something is not available. A few more vegetarian options would have been great, but the book definitely fulfills what it sets out to be. Highly recommended!
This cookbook is so stunning. It’s one of those cookbooks that are such a joy to flip through.
The concept of this book was executed so well. The recipes are easy to follow and the images are so beautiful!
Thank you so much to Netgalley, Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, Carnival and Hari Beavis for giving me an ARC copy of this wonderful cookbook!
Country Comfort focuses on comforting easy and simple dinners. While the food isn’t southern delights it is all very comforting food. I quite enjoy the inclusion of simpler and less time consuming recipes for when you are in a pinch.
The Sections are
Comfort in 10
Comfort in 20
Comfort in 30
Comfort in 40
Baking everything Better
Drink Pairings
Each recipe has a brief about the recipe, servings, directions, equipment needed, directions, and any alternative ingredients. Most recipes have a beautiful picture of the dish.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Country Comfort is a cookbook I know I will be going back to over and over again, especially this fall! The recipes all look so cozy and decadent, and I am especially excited to try some of the pasta recipes like the carbonara, chilli noodles, and the ghnocchi bake! I also love that these recipes feel like "home' and while they aren't recipes I personally grew up with in the USA, I still feel that strong connection since I can tell the author has a lot of love for these recipes, and it makes me want to start some recipe traditions with my family using the recipes from this book. I really appreciate it being broken down into how long the recipes take to make because it helps so much with planning our meals. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous as well and look mouth-watering!
Yet another great cookbook with tasty food adn healthy to boot. The book is laid out to reflect the amount of time each recipe takes which is a unique and interesting way to write a cookbook but it works. With easy to flow instructions, photos to make you salivate and recipes you will want to make, this is a book for any keen cook and will help you to cook and eat not just healthy meals but very tasty meals as well.
This would make a great cookbook to have on your shelf as it is a book I will refer back to again and again.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I’m glad I found this recipe book as the recipes all look really yummy, varied and easy to make. I like that there’s a range of different types of comfort recipes from lighter to more indulgent. I’ll definitely be giving some of these a try soon!
I love the pictures in this book and how the recipes are split into sections depending on the time it takes to cook them. Most of the recipes include ingredients easily found at the grocery store or can be grown in a home garden. Many of the dishes are similar to comfort foods my own mom made while we were growing up.
Eeeep! this is one of the few cook books I have where I will be trying at least 70% of the recipes featured.
I haven't seen Hari's videos before but she's got a new follower :)
I'm curious why there were 1-2 recipes in each section that were missing a photo (ie: my chopped Cobb salad and spring asparagus & blue cheese). I've seen other cook books do this and am wondering if maybe they're recipes that were added last minute?
ps. I didn't love the picture of the live chickens in the midst of all the chicken recipes LOL
Country Comfort is a beautiful cookbook full of recipes that I can actually see myself making. I love that the recipes are organized by the amount of time they take to prepare. I'm not from the UK, but these recipes definitely look comforting and hearty and like things my picky husband and I will be able to enjoy together! The photos of the finished dishes are beautiful and the recipes are well-explained without being overly complicated and wordy.
I will absolutely be ordering a personal copy of "Country Comfort" as well as copies for all of our library branches. This cookbook is put together perfectly with cuisine from around the globe presented in an approachable and intriguing way. My husband and I tried the one-pot Salmon curry and the Gnocchi Bake and both were DELICIOUS. The photographs included with the recipes are gorgeous and made me want to try every dish in the book.
I loved that the recipes were organized by the time it would take to prepare the dishes. I don't think that's an approach that I've seen before, and I was SO impressed with the amount of flavor and the complexity of dishes that Beavis shows readers how to prepare in 40 minutes or less. Her attention to detail meant that the 10 minute dishes seemed just as appetizing and worth making as the 40 minute dishes.
I have no doubt that Country Comfort will become a modern classic, used in kitchens around the world by cooks looking for a comforting meal that goes beyond the expected. Special thanks to NetGalley and to Carnival for providing an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for an unbiased review. I cannot wait to try the remaining recipes!!
This book was a pure delight to read. It is put together very nicely; everything from how the sections were divided to the bounty of photographs. There are a variety of recipes, perfect for most taste buds. The alternative ingredients’ section is absolutely wonderful; because sometimes we don’t always have those exact ingredients or crave a way to change the recipe up a bit. Thank you everyone for letting me read this book early.
I received an ARC of this cookbook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful cookbook filled with delicious recipes!
This cookbook is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! It would be the perfect centerpiece for a table or countertop. The recipes sound delicious and super simple! I loved how the recipes were divided up by how long they take to make! Such a unique and helpful setup!
Hari Beavis’s debut cookbook delivers exactly what it promises: wholesome, hearty meals that offer comfort and warmth with every bite. As someone who enjoys reading cookbooks cover to cover, this one struck a particular chord with me, merging simplicity with nostalgia in a beautifully presented collection.
Visuals & Presentation: The food photography in this cookbook is absolutely stunning, enhancing the appeal of each recipe and inviting readers to try their hand at creating the dishes. The layout of the book prioritizes clarity, with sparse pages that allow the photographs and recipes to shine. Each recipe is accompanied by both imperial and metric measurements, a list of necessary equipment, and a brief introduction that adds a personal touch, making the cookbook not just a guide but a story.
Accessibility & Variety: What makes this cookbook stand out is its accessibility. The chapters are cleverly organized by the time commitment required—from quick 10-minute salads to more elaborate 40-minute meals—ensuring there’s something for everyone, no matter how much time they have on hand. For someone like me, who loves cooking but faces physical challenges, the range of simple to more involved recipes means I can still participate in the kitchen, fully or partially.
Personal Touch: Hari’s personal anecdotes and the inclusion of family recipes lend a warmth to the cookbook that’s often missing in others. Her approach to alternative ingredients is particularly commendable; it acknowledges the reality of everyday cooking where not all ingredients are at hand or within budget. This thoughtful addition allows for flexibility and creativity, making the recipes adaptable and approachable for everyone.
Unique Flavors: Despite the familiarity of some dishes, like curries and stroganoff, Hari puts her unique twist on them, refreshing classic flavors and introducing new ones. This innovation keeps the cookbook interesting and assures that it stands out in a sea of similar collections.
Final Thoughts: Hari Beavis’s cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes; it’s a companion in the kitchen. Its clear, concise instructions and beautiful presentation make it accessible to cooks of all skill levels. The warmth and care poured into each page reflect Hari’s passion for food and comfort, making it a delightful addition to any cookbook collection. Whether you’re a novice looking for easy meals or a seasoned cook in search of new inspirations, this cookbook promises to be a go-to resource for delicious, comforting meals.
I do love a cookbook, and I often read them as novels, from front to back, reading the introduction, all the recipes, tips and advice. And this book has been on my radar for a while now, and was on my to-buy list, so I was excited to get an early look at it.
I don't know if Hari did the food photography herself or if it was someone else, but either way, it is absolutely stunning and really shows the dishes off well.
For someone who owns about 50 cookbooks, I am not a very good cook. My disability means it's not always safe for me to be cooking or using sharp implements etc. but I still enjoy reading all things cooking, and baking. I used to bake practically everyday - I once did 3 wedding cake sin one day, I did birthday cakes, bakes for work, bakes for funerals etc. It was how I dealt with my emotions. Which makes it even more difficult now as I don't have that regular outlet. But there are definitely some recipes in here that look simple enough for me to, if not do all of, to at least assist with.
Hari covers everything from quick 10 minute dishes to longer 40+ minute main meals, perfect for hosting guests, so there really is something for everyone.
A lot of cookbooks are a bit samey, because surely how many different types of one dish can there be? And yes, there are your favourites - curries, stroganoff, salads - but Hari has put her own twist on them, and has provided us with a few of her own personal and family options.
I love that for each recipe she has provided an 'alternative ingredients' list, necause we don't aways have every single ingredient ready to go, or perhaps we can't afford to go out and buy all these ingredients you'll only use for this dish and then get pushed to the back of the cupboard. So that was good, she gives you options, which is especially good for someone like me who is quite fussy.
It's got a very clear layout. Sparse pages makes the photos take centre stage and the recipe itself easy to read. It's not heavy clunky paragraphs or long instructions. It's clear and easy to read and easy to follow. She has provided both imperial and metric instructions, as well as a list of equipment needed, and a little introduction to each recipe.
I have been writing a baking cookbook on and off for years, mainly so I could preserve the recipes I used to love making. Ad having read this book, it's exactly the atmosphere I want mine to have. Clear, honest, easy to follow, casual, calm, beautiful, and just very comforting.
I may have been given an early digital copy of this book, but I'll definitely be buying it upon release to add to my cookbook shelves; I can see it being used a lot!
Amazing recipe book, I appreciated how it was sectioned by the time it takes to cook the dish as I can quickly look for a nutritious and delicious meal after a busy day at work. The recipe themselves look well balanced and I love the variety within the book- truly something for everyone! I’ll recommend to my family and friends wholeheartedly and very excited to cook more dishes from this book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars
Thank you to Netgalley, Hari Beavis and Quattro Publishing Group for an ARC in exchange for a honest review
Country Comfort is a cookbook that encourages one to create delicious meals with simple to follow steps. The cookbook is laid out based on the time it takes to make a meal (10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes) along with a chapter on baking. One of my favorite features is that most of the recipes have a photo of the dish along with it. Just a couple of recipes in each chapter are missing, which is a refreshing flip from most cookbooks.
This book truly is what the title promises, so much comfort food! I love the recipes and the pictures are AMAZING! The instructions are easy to follow and the ingredients easy to find. Nothing I want more from a cookbook.
This is a fantastic cookbook and I have already planned to make several of the recipes over the next week for my family. I love the photos which are enticing and also give that comfort family country house feel - with the colour tone in the photos almost giving a throw back to the 1970's when everything was cooked from scratch and just healthier and comforting. This is my type of food and I am excited to start cooking.
A fantastic cookbook with lots of easy to follow recipes that the whole family could enjoy including the fussy eaters in my life. We’ve enjoyed the ‘can’t be bothered to cook’ chilli noodles and speedy creamy risotto. I really liked that there was alternatives to certain ingredients such a wine, as a Muslim we don’t consume alcohol and there aren’t many recipes which would recommend a substitute. There’s still so many recipes we want to try which include the ‘to cure a cold’ ramen and ‘man flu’ chicken soup- as you can guess, we can be a poorly household so these recipes will come in handy. And don’t get me started on the desserts, the apple crumble was bliss!
Easy to follow, relatively quick (30 min average) recipes that are actually delicious! Comfort food is my favourite and these aren't daunting recipes but they look impressive when served!! I will be buying the hardcover!
Lovely cookbook with comforting recipes, have tried a few recipes so far and they were easy to follow and a big hit at home. Cannot wait to try some of the baking recipes soon!
Big plus were the aesthetic photos accompanying the recipes; the easy to follow instructions and the suggested alternatives.
I’m a sucker for cookbooks, and Country Comfort did not disappoint! This cookbook is filled with delicious recipes and stunning food photos that make you want to dive right in. The dishes are perfect for adding to my monthly family meal rotation. I’m especially excited to try the Messy Sausage Pasta, Mediterranean Pasta Salad, Pulled Chicken Tacos, and the Sunday Sports Chicken Mac ‘n’ Cheese. For dessert, the Grandparents-approved Carrot Cake sounds like the perfect sweet ending to any meal.
What a yummy and comforting cookbook! I can’t wait to start cooking from it.
Well-written and beautifully illustrated recipes broken down into groups by how long it takes to make them. The groups range from COMFORT IN 10 to COMFORT IN 40 with baking in a separate group. The Steak and Caramelised Onion Sandwich was in the COMFORT IN 20 group. That time was taken up by the caramelising of the onions. It was a good use of leftover steak I already had. One of the best steak sandwiches I have ever made according to my family. Will be making more of these British recipes.
I have a great fondness for cookbooks and 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗧 was a fantastic addition to my collection. I enjoyed everything about this book from its layout, pictures and extensive collection of recipes. I tested quite a few of them and enjoyed them very much. This book kept me entertained and I spent a great bit of time n my kitchen because of it. A definite must have.
This is definitely my sort of cook book and I can honestly say I would probably make and try most, if not all, of the recipes contained within. I haven't come across Hari Beavis before but I am now a fan and like her little introductions at the beginning of each recipe. Easy to follow with clear instructions and accompanied by beautiful photos for most of the recipes which must truly inspire the reader. I liked the way the recipe chapters are set out in timings from 10 to 40 minutes, very useful, especially when in a hurry. Plenty of tips plus ideas of alternative ingredients and suggestions. I shall definitely be on the look out for this book once published as I so much prefer using an actual book in the kitchen and often sit of an evening browsing through recipe books.
Country Comfort is a debut cookbook by Hari Beavis filled with 90 recipes for quick and easy comfort food inspired by country living. The recipes are organized by time, ranging from Comfort in 10 minutes to Comfort in 40 minutes, with a special baking chapter at the end. I am eagerly anticipating the release of the hardcover edition. Although I do not currently follow Hari Beavis on social media, I am now considering doing so. This debut cookbook features a plethora of stunning candid photos and images of the recipes. I particularly appreciate the book's organization, which makes it easy to navigate. I am thrilled at the prospect of trying out some of these recipes!
The baked recipes included in the book are truly mouthwatering. Who wouldn't want to attempt making croissant or waffle pudding? I recently tried the cream puffed pastries, and I am eagerly awaiting feedback from my family.
This cookbook has elevated my cooking skills and makes me feel like a professional chef! The hardcover edition is set to be released on 9/2/2024, and I am counting down the days until I can get my hands on a copy.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion | Carnival for digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Achievable recipes that wrap you up in a warm embrace with every bite.
Thank you to NetGalley aan the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I don't think I've ever given a cookbook 5 stars but this wins! The picture are delectable and the recipes seem easily adjustable. I saw so many individual and unique recipes worth try and it definitely made this book worth recommending or buying for a friend! Food lovers know good country cooking when they see it.
I feel like I haven’t seen a decent cookbook in a while and Country Comfort has changed that!
Beautifully photographed delicious food which all looks like I could make it, to start with the Momma’s chicken Cesar salad sounds and looks amazing and then I came across the Marmalade cake which made me rush to the fridge to check I had marmalade so that I can make it today!
This book will be a great addition to any kitchen shelf, I will certainly be using it for family meals and treats!
Lots of lovely photos showing the delicious sounding recipes. Lots of everyday family meals and I can’t wait to try lots of them. My mouth was watering just reading the book.
Loved this cook book. Some gorgeous recipes and I loved how homey they were. I also love that there was a range of timings for recipes so that you can cater to whether you have lots of time or a small amount of time. A lovely family friendly cookbook with lots of great tips and ideas.
Beautiful cookbook full of delicious looking recipes. I’ve never heard of the author before but these recipes look like something I would be interested in making so I might check her out. The photos are very nice and I like that she organized the recipes by time (10, 20, 30 or 40 min). There are savory and sweet recipes. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
What a beautifuly illustrated and well written cozy cookbook. Love the titles of each dish and will definitely be trying out the leftover roast dinner hotpot, mushroom and prosecco risotto.. I mean what is not to love about those recipes. They will definitely be made this weekend along with the white choc and raspberry waffle dish. When this comes out it will be on my cookbook shelf for sure.
I have followed Hari on social media since the pandemic, enjoying her recipe vidoes and I have made some of them myself as well. I was so excited to see her book come out and I have to say it doesn't disappoint with lovely photograph and delicious homely recipes that are easy to make. Would 100% recommend.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this cookbook! I like that there are photos for most of the recipes and I found a lot of great cooking inspiration.
I also liked the format where we have quicker recipes at the front and they get a bit more time consuming and complicated as you go. This could be great for building skills in the kitchen and getting comfortable with more extensive dishes.
Country Comfort is a debut cookbook by Tik Tok/Instagram sensation Hari Beavis. Country Comfort is a collection of 90 quick and easy recipes.
Each recipe has a beautiful photo along with easy to follow directions.
So many yummy looking recipes. I don't know where to start!
Everyone needs to have this cookbook in their home! It is full of all the most incredible looking food! I can not wait to gift this to some friends for Christmas and make all of these recipes.
This cookbook is purely delightful. The recipes are easily followed and the layout makes everything very simple to find. The book is not overly-complicated, which makes it one of my favorite go-to’s!
The photos in the book entices me to try each recipe. Simply amazing and comforting.
The recipes inside that I’ve tried are: Breakfast Beans & Eggs, Creamy Tuna Pasta Salad, and the Mediterranean Pasta Salad.
There are too many of the books recipes on my “To Be Cooked” list to name! This book is worth its weight in cookbook gold! Hari Beavis has truly outdone herself with this “dream in the making!”
I received this book on NetGalley in exchange for my honest, unbiased review of it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you Carnival, NetGalley, and Hari Beavis for the opportunity to review this book before its release date!
Not fussy, not complicated, just easy to follow recipes., with gorgeous little photos.
The sections are divided into the time it takes to make each recipe - 10, 20, 30, 40 minutes and a final section on delicious bakes Each recipe includes equipment needed and a little note at the end, suggesting alternative ingredients.
A favourite in the 10 minute section is the Mediterranean pasta salad, which I shall be making all summer long.
The 20 minute section includes the very tasty Feta and caramelised onion and honey tartlets.
Other favourites include Baked garlic and parsley crumb halloumi bites and Cheesy Fish Pie.
The bakes section is packed with delicious cakes and puddings - eg Chocolate hazelnut croissant pudding, Nan's chocolate cake and Paddington marmalade cake.
This will be a very used book, easy to delve into with lots of inspiration.
Highly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.
It's a beautiful book with great visuals. The recipes are nicely organized and they're also easy to understand. I've no doubt all of the recipes within are delicious.
A really lovely cosy cookbook, where the recipes are cleverly arranged in the time it takes to cook them (10, 20, 30 or 40 minutes) plus a baking section. Lots of inspiration for easy and nutritious meals.
Hari Beavis brings her favourite meals together in this lovely cookbook. She is British and many of the recipes have roots in British cuisine but with modern twists. The recipes are sorted by the time needed to prepare each starting from 10 minutes up to 40.
Lots of really tasty new dishes for me to try out,
Loved it.
I do not have a TikTok account so I was not familiar with this before seeing it available on NetGalley. The thing that stood out to me immediately was the way the recipes were segregated into sections based on the preparation time that it would take for the recipe. In other words, quick 10 minute choices, to 40 minute options - in addition to many, many baking options.
The other thing that was a winner in my book was the amount of pictures that accompany each recipe. I already own way too many cookbooks that have paragraphs and paragraphs of text without a single picture. For me, who enjoys cooking, but am far from an expert in the kitchen, I need all the help I can get. Pictures, make everything better.
Thank you to NetGalley and to Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone. This publication will be available and out for publication on September 03, 2024.
I applied to review a cookbook - something I don't normally do because this book looked great and I had seen the author on social media.
I was looking for recipes with a focus on feeding a family that has time constraints due to busy lives.
The recipes I am most looking forward to are:
- Pulled Chicken Tacos
- Butter Chicken Curry Pie
- Man Flu Chicken soup
I loved that the book layout focuses on the time it takes to make the meal.
The layout of the ingredients, tools needed and the instructions on how to cook are beautifully layed out without being complex or too complicated.
The baking chapter provided some amazing recipes which should make me popular at the next dinner party.
Honestly I've no negative feedback! Cannot wait for your next book already!
