Description

Sera’s mother was special. She had the unique ability of knowing things she shouldn’t quite know. But it wasn’t enough to stop her own murder.

All Sera wanted was to be normal. But she has her own ability, a dark version of her mother’s. She can see through the eyes of a vicious predator, one that is connected to Sera in ways she never thought possible.

Sera pushes it down deep so that she can carefully construct a simple and safe life, which works...for a while.

Until it comes back, refusing to be ignored any longer. Night after night, murder after murder, pulling Sera deeper into the mind of a sadistic sociopath.

She can feel the killer, their hurt, their hate. And that hate wants revenge. Whatever the cost.

Sera will have to find the courage to embrace the abilities she has spent a lifetime denying if she wants to stop the killing spree before the lives of those she loves are taken.

Even if it means her life will be the next that ends.

A captivating thriller that follows Sera a young woman with a unique ability that she inherited from her mother that allows her to peer into the eyes of a vicious killer, forcing Sera to embrace her gift to protect those she loves. The characters in this book are phenomenally written and despite being a slow burn for me in the begging, kept me wanting more. I love a strong female lead and and this journey with a courageous character like Sera was perfect for me.

I had a very difficult time getting in to this book. The book contains issues of child abuse, suicide, sexual violence and death. This was very heavy topic matter for me to read. I did appreciate that there was a warning given at the beginning of the book stating these issues .

I struggled through, but finished. The book was well written, but just not the kind of material I prefer to read. 3 out of 5 ⭐️

I liked this book! I think it was a bit frustrating when the main character would not try and use her abilities, just as it was when the mother couldn't quite explain it. I would say this book has a bit of sci-fi due to the nature of these abilities.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!
