HOW CUTE is this book. My toddler and I loved the bright illustrations and the easy rhymes throughout the story. Reading this flow of story at bedtime is perfect for young kids to get them excited to follow along with the story. The bat search at the end was so cute for littles. We loved this book!
I LOVED this!! The illustrations are amazing; super 90's and colorful and exciting. This would be a great book to just put in front of a toddler, but I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a short, fun bedtime story.
Thank you NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books | Happy Yak, and Laura Baker for the early access copy of Monsters at Bedtime.
What a great addition to the Monster series! Monsters at Bedtime shows the progressive steps of putting little ones to bed through vibrant imagery, playful text, and clear routine. This will be a great tool to help set up bedtime routines, and will be a fun and engaging read for little ones. With the addition of a search-and-find game at the end, this will be a must read at bedtime.
Great fit for ages 3-7.
Oh my, what an adorable book! The story is focused on getting the monster kids to bed, the whole process, including all the misadventures and sneaking out of bed that children will relate to. The illustrations are amazing, so colorful and interesting. The shapes are so cool and unique, and the color schemes work so well. I think any child would adore this cute, rhyming bed time story!
This was adorable - I loved all of the illustrations and it was a fun way to talk about bedtime/ routines! My kiddo loved this because there was always something fun and new to look at/talk about on every page. Would for sure pick this one up!
Thank you NetGalley - all opinions are my own!
OMG THIS PICTURE BOOK!!!!! Omg!!!! It’s the cutest, the quirkiest, it’s LIFE, IT’S EVERYTHING! It has been a while since I last saw a kids’ picture book that made me fall in love with it instantly. This book is absolutely perfect. Also, it’s extra perfect to make a little one think of monsters under their beds as of something that’s out of this book.
Love it so so much!
The drawings are precious and hilarious, cute, adorable, and extra, extra pretty, with a side dish of laugh-out-loud hilarious.
Monsters at Bedtime is a cute rhyming book that goes through all the stages of bedtime, from cleaning up to sneaking out of bed. the colors and patterns that are illustrated are bright and really brought a fun look to the monsters. I will be purchasing this book for my friend with a baby as Halloween is her favorite Holliday and this book is too cute to not have on the shelf!
A fun picture book for young kids, realistically detailing the nice and the challenging aspects of the bedtime routine and how it doesn’t always go to plan (mostly due to the procrastination techniques of the little monsters!). It’s bright and colourful with cute rhymes and amusing pictures. Loved it! Thank you to NetGalley/the publisher/author for this eARC.
Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read and review this book!
My daughter (Kida is 2) absolutely LOVED this book! We read it through once and then went back to count the monster bats. I wasn't counting them all according to her so she took the book from me and proceeded to find all the bats that I missed (I did not miss a single bat but I am not arguing with a 2year old at bedtime). It is a wonderful read that we will definitely add into or bedtime story rotation!
I received a review ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
If you grew up on 90’s and 2000’s shows and movies like I did, I feel like this book will give you nostalgic vibes. The illustrations are reminiscent of those shows and films.
For me, that’s a huge bonus. I would love reading this book with one of the children in my life because the illustrations are so much fun. And of course the cute rhyming story about bedtime is just as much fun. Simple but clever at the same time. And the added little challenge at the end of the book adds even more fun for rereads later on.
As a girl who has always loved monsters and the like, this book would’ve made my child self so happy!
My six and three year old loved this book. The pictures were fun and vibrant and they giggled a lot at the silly monsters. Afterwards we went back and looked for the hidden bat on eat page which was a lot of fun. I could see us reading this book many times because each picture is so detailed and full of fun surprises. The story follows a large family of monsters as they get ready for bed. It was fun to see the parent monsters dealing with the derailments and side quests that we go through every night trying to get wild “monsters” to bed.
I got this here to have a look, having seen the cover and there are previous Monsters books.
Brighty coloured as can be seen from the cover! The story is fairly minimal, short rhymes to do with pre-bed activity of all kinds. But lots and lots of monsters doing different things so you can see the child finding lots of things each read (with a search and find suggestion at the end), so plenty of interest to amuse and spend time on.
Will be getting this in store and have ordered the recent Monsters at School, I realise we did have the first two when they were out!
I smiled the whole way through reading this book, because I can imagine my godson becoming obsessed with it and calling himself the different kinds of monsters throughout his day.
The author tells a complete, wacky story from beginning to end with so few words. It's simple and so fun, and the illustrations add to the whimsy and silliness of the story. I absolutely loved getting to the end and then flipping back through every scene to find the bat monster.
I highly recommend this book as a bedtime book for little that love rhyming stories and illustrated scenes with a lot of details to explore.
This quirky cute book is full of vibrant colorful illustrations that keep the readers attention. Every page takes you on a different part of the bedtime routine and it’s fun to pick out all the goofy monsters. The added search for the bat is just the icing on the cake! I only wish that little bit was at the front of the book to give the reader something to look for while going through it. But overall such a cute read!
An amazing kids book! Perfect for spooky season and really any time. The monster illustrations were very cute and fun. The monsters were not scary looking at all. So cute and fun. I loved the words and the rhythms. Would be a perfect easy and quick bedtime read.
This was a really good bedtime story!! I read it to my cousin while I was babysitting him and he loved it.
Plus the art is 10/10 and the little one told me that tomorrow morning we will be looking for more monsters.
thanks to netgalley for the advanced reader copy 🫶🏻
SO excited to see another Monsters book! Monsters at Bedtime was incredibly fun and brought amazing illustrations. I loved how much there was to look at throughout the book! The prose was fantastic and fun. This would be a great bedtime read for kiddos.
Thanks to NetGalley, Laura Baker, and Quarto Publishing for the chance to read and review. My opinions are my own.
We loved this book and it is our second Monsters book that we have given 5 stars too!
My 7 year old daughter read the book to me and she thought it was funny, loved the different names given and how the book rhymed.
She loved finding the Bat on the different pages and thought that was great as we went back through the story to look for him/her.
It was a lovely flowing book and she read it all without any help from me and that is key for her in a good book (I do know she is above the age range but having read another book in this series she wanted to read this one too).
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended and very engaging!
Monsters at Bedtime is an adorable way to get children ready for bed. You follow these friendly and silly monsters through their bedtime routine and see that they do it just like we do! I loved the interactive "hide and seek" portion at the end. It will be a staple in our bedtime books basket!
These monsters are not your usual monsters. They are relatable and the book instills good habits and routines without being didactic, but these monsters are fun, unique and adorable.
Excellent book for toddlers. Even better for a family time read with older children/siblings.
The illustrations are amazing as usual, if you are familiar with the series. If not, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Wow! This is the cutest bedtime story. I can see a child wanting to read it over and over. The pages are very busy and colorful which can lead to so much fun reading and discussing. It's so playful you barely notice that it is walking through the bedtime routine, and a very drawn out one at that! Lol! Not all the monsters were cooperating! I loved this and I think beyond the extension activity listed in the back, I think a child can have fun searching and finding the monsters in each scene. And you can even see of the child see themselves as one of the monsters in the book.
Thank you Laura Baker and Netgalley, for the e-arc. This review is being left voluntarily, and all opinions are my own.
This book was so adorable! My daughters and I really enjoyed all the artwork and silly monsters. The story was very cute and rhyme-y :)
This is such a cute bedtime story, and I love the colors! You don't really expect a book about monsters to have such amazing colors. The bedtime routines were also really sweet and comforting. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
Thank you, Netgalley, Laura Baker, and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the ebook. My daughter and I loved this funny and quirky children's book! She loves monsters and the illustrations were great and finding the bat in each page was so much fun!
A perfect entry to this perfect series, as little monsters all go to bed – they have their bath, or their story, a last prank, a last widdle, and then they settle their weary heads – all seven of them, in some cases. The rhyming is always absurdly well done in these books, and the visuals full of colour and things to pore over – meaning this will be a book to keep you awake far too long, mind. If you need books for sharing that make the youngsters laugh and won't tire you out with their boring inanity, I don't know why you should not turn to these titles. The four I've seen have been equally splendid.
My son loved this book. He especially enjoyed the promo at the end of the book telling him to find the little bat. This book is so cute and we both enjoyed all of the antics of the different monsters. These are the silliest little monsters I’ve ever seen! Definitely recommend this book.
The perfect book for toddler readers! The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and made my young reader giggle as I read it to him. As a mom with three young children, I can see this book becoming one of our popular bedtimes stories. I loved that the young reader can be engaged in the story by finding the "Bat Monster" throughout the book. I would highly recommended this book to families with young readers!
Thank you so much to NetGalley for this ARC!
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own
I think this is the third book in the series I've reviewed so far and I love it as much as the others. I take forever to get through the book because I love looking at all the details of the illustrations.
Need a fun bedtime story full of monsters and mayhem? Look no further! This books combines fun rhythm and rhyme to tell the story of monsters trying to settle in for the night. A joy to read!
This book is adorable!
Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, Monsters at Bedtime is full of bright, colorful illustrations and a simply rhyming pattern on each page.
Each page shows a step toward getting ready for bed and the reader can see all the silly things the monsters do as they get ready for bed. If this book had existed when my boys were toddlers I'm sure we would have read it every night, I could easily see it becoming a reader favorite!
It's bright, it's funny, the illustrations are cute - it's just pure fun and joy all the way around. This would make a great addition to your family's bookshelf!
The monsters books are some of the cutest things ever! This is my second one I was given to review. The artwork is so bright and fun! I really like all the names the author gives all the monsters. In every book there is a hidden monster on every page, you can find that at the back of the book and go back through and check to see if you and your child can find it, or go look to see what you should look for before reading. The books I can't get over and want the whole collection for my bookshelf for kids!
This book is SO cute!!!! I love the illustrations and all of the colors. They are intrguing for young kiddos.
The rhyming and the images went perfectly with the story.
So fun! What a wonderful bedtime book for very young kids - great for toddlers! The colorful illustrations are similar to an easy "I Spy" book, plus there is a secret game revealed at the end. Loved this fun read!
Monsters at Bedtime is very cute and kept my kiddos engaged. We enjoyed all the monster art and rhyming. Adding the activity at the end (finding all of a certain monster) is a great way to add more reading time. This would be a great book for a quick bedtime read!
Thanks to Quarto Publishing and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review!
This is the perfect bedtime story. I loved the rhyming and the easy cadence of the story. My kids loved the vibrant and colorful illustrations. I liked that the story told a perfectly honest story of the joys of bedtimes with multiple children and got a good giggle at a scene that I see every night.
Adorable Monsters everywhere!
This was a fun read about Monsters winding down for bedtime. Each page is colorful with so many silly monsters. The simple text is perfect for winding kids down for the night.
Thank you so much to Quarto Publishing / Frances Lincoln Children’s Books/ Happy Yak and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
This is such a perfect read, it’s so funny and so easy, I loved looking at each page and seeing what all the Monster’s were going to get up to.
An incredibly perfect read before bedtime, seeing that the monsters have a sleep routine too is great for young children, they’ll see that even monsters want to sleep. I really love the rhythm of these books and how it’s written, it just flows so perfectly.
This book was really funny, the monsters were all so different and doing so many different things, as they do, it was so much fun searching for the bat monster too, he was always in such funny places.
I love the illustrations throughout this book you have a never ending amount of things to look at on each page. A great bedtime read with young children, they’ll have so much fun reading and looking at it.
A colourful book with fantastic illustrations. It really captures the chaos of bedtime! An extra bonus of having monster bats to find on every page.
This was cute and the illustrations were magnificent! I can imagine it becoming a bedtime favorite. The text was fun and silly and the colors and creatures were delightful!
Cute little book which is lots of fun and has some brightly coloured illustrations too which are very eyecatching for pre schoolers.
Tells the story of bedtime in a very simple, but fun way.
Going back and searching every page for a bat is a nice touch too.
Great read
