Absolutely darling book Barney Cargile! I can not wait to gift this book to some of my family members this holiday season. It was beautiful from start to finish. Wonderfully done.

I was searching for a Christmas devotional that would help me feel grounded in the true meaning of the season and “The Perfect Gift” does exactly that. I loved the morning and evening devotional layout. The entries were concise but meaningful.

This is THE book to spend your advent with! It has morning and evening reflection prompts, so you can start and end your days in the best way possible to prepare for Christmas.
Each of these parts includes a short story with a message, Bible verses to read, questions to ponder, and a short prayer.
It's written in a heartwarming way but gives you a lot to think about and has many great messages to take away.

What sets this devotional apart are the heartfelt and meaningful stories the author shares. Each story is rich with insight and invites readers to reflect deeply on the true essence of Christmas. Designed for both families and individuals, the devotional includes a thoughtful structure at the end of each day: Christian principle, thought-provoking questions, a deeper dive into scripture, and prayer.

I love that this devotional includes a section of importance of making a life-changing decision for Christ.

I don’t know what it is, but I do not usually like an advent devotional. How many I have started and not finished over the years I cannot count. This one looked intriguing enough to not only read but also review, and I am very grateful I did.
The Perfect Gift is very different in all the best ways. I love that there are thought provoking entries for both morning and evening, plus a bonus for the day after Christmas. And they are blessedly brief for this busy time of year. But not brief and shallow. The engaging stories and deep meaning packed into a few pages per entry, while remaining easy to read, memorable throughout the day, and applicable to life right here and now, is just wonderfully done. The author has an easy way of communicating much without the need to use an abundance of words. I found it all not too much, not too little, but just right.
Whether for yourself or to give as a gift, this is one devotional I strongly recommend. I enjoyed having the ebook to read on my phone and look up the recommended Scripture throughout the day. But no matter how you read it, your faith will be strengthened and your perspective renewed. Like me, you may even want to read it again next year.

The Perfect Gift, Unwrapping True Joy for Christmas by Barney Cargile III is one great advent read that has two short devotions for each day. One in the morning to set you mind and thoughts all through the day on Christ, then one in the evening as you are finishing up your day. I loved how the focus is on the perfect gift, Christ who came into a world so imperfect. As you read each devotional you can see how God works through each for his perfect will. At the end of each devotional is the four Ps; first a Principle to consider, a Ponder focus, and further study to Pursue, then a short Prayer to start you off on your prayer. This advent devotional is useful for individual, couples, or family devotions. Highly recommend as a great gift of joy for others or yourself.

Barney Cargile’s humor-loving voice comes through loud and clear in this 51-entry Christmas devotional. Although the topic is familiar, Gargile’s delivery is often unique and fun. He’s collected some new introductory stories, along with some that I’ve heard before. A few felt cliched, but the author’s original content was fresh.

This has been a fun devotional to read during Advent! I love the parallels that the author puts in with the Christmas story/season and life.

What I liked about this was there was a morning and evening devotional. It was centered around Christmas and December.

I just didn’t get the devotional feel from this. Maybe it’s me and the season I am in, so I say that to say check it out for you.
