This had everything that I was looking for in a cozy fantasy novel, it had that magical element that I was expecting and was thoroughly engaged with the world and characters. I thought the use of dragons worked overall and was engaged with what was happening overall. I enjoyed the way the characters were written and how they worked with the plot of the book. It does everything taht was promised and enjoyed how good Josephine Angelini wrote this.

While this felt higher stakes than the previous novel (novella?) in the series, the writing still manages a cozy vibe.

My only complaint is that I would love more from this story and these characters. Longer would not be amiss, though it did manage to be a complete story as is.

I think that the word cute sums up this book.
Its definitely a fun, light and entertaining story and just cozy writing in general.
I loved that this book brought up sexism and proves that women are just as worthy!
My only issue was that i felt a bit disconnected when it came to the characters. I don't know if maybe i would have had more time to connecting with them if the story was a bit longer and less rushed?
Regardless of that i enjoyed reading this a lot.

A heartwarming tale of a girl and a dragon!
The main female character was very agreeable, I loved her! I also loved the dragon who I found sweet. The story is very cozy and a read that I finished in one sitting! It's perfect for dragon lovers and fairytale lovers. I cannot wait to read more books by Josephine!

This series is my type of cozy fantasy. There are a lot of things going on but also feels like a bedtime story. I really liked this story. The dragon and the tinker's daughter are just perfect. Jonara is my favorite type of FMC. She is brilliant, strong, and stubborn. She cares and understands the people around her. I can’t wait to see what the next story will be in this series.

I highly recommend it!

This book was purely delightful. It hooked me from the very beginning with a gentle, fun humor that never stopped, and then grew from a cute little story into a gorgeous, interesting fairy tale with a very late twist I was NOT expecting!

The story was fast paced without seeming chaotic, and let me grow to like the characters as I went along. Overall, anyone who wants a cozy, fun little romantasy read will vastly enjoy this.

The concept of the story, characters, world building and magic made this book an utter delight to read, the connection between the 2 main characters had my heart all fluttery multiple times throughout the book. I laughed, felt heartbroken and had no idea the speed I was flying through this book. I was in a reading slump before this and this book cured it 🥳 ..it wasn't absolutely perfect but I loved it all the same and it is a story that will stay with me for a long time and will have many more reads from me to come 🥰

This is a delightful cozy fantasy filled with humor and whimsy. I enjoyed my time in Lucitopia with the characters and would read more books in this series.

This was so much fun! More on the cozy side of fantasy rather than your usual high-stakes story.

Jonara, the tinker’s daughter, is told she’s won the lottery in her village! Assuming that she’s won a pig, she gladly accepts- only to learn that the prize for this lottery is actually being the Virgin sacrifice to a dragon.

But this dragon isn’t actually what he seems, and she learns that her dragon can’t even remember his own name, as it was stolen by the evil wizard Asphodel. It’s up to Jonara, Dragon, and their ragtag army to knock this magical foe down!

This book was adorable! It was marketed as “cozy” fantasy but I’d consider it more “fairytale” fantasy as the stakes were higher than I prefer for a cozy read. I went into the book blind and had no idea it was part of a series so the plot twist was a bit surprising but it made sense. The FMC was hilarious and outspoken. She reminded me a bit of Evie from Assistant to the Villain and I adore them both. The Dragon was also so ridiculously cute! I was laughing and highlighting only a couple of pages in!

This book wasn’t a 4 course meal, It was dessert. Not a fancy dessert either. It was like a warm chocolate chip cookie or a slice of your favorite cake. It makes you smile and feel nostalgic. I love that feeling so it’s a 5 star read for me. It’s a perfect book to read between your heavy high stakes fantasy series, or to read on a relaxing weekend!

This book is sensational!!! Such a cool story and the characters are immaculate! I rated it 5 stars because it really is that good. I recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can.

It kind of reminds me of How to Train Your Dragon. The romance is relatively mild. It's non-explicit. I am obsessed with the plot twist and I'm definitely reading the rest of the series.

The Tinker’s Daughter is the second in this series by Josephine Angelini, but the first one I read, and I loved it. It starts with Jonara being sacrificed to the dragon of her current village and gets even better from there. When the dragon takes Janora and first starts shapeshifting into a man, I thought it might have Beauty and the Beast attributes because of the obvious curse, but that’s not it at all! The dragon has always been a dragon shifter; the curse is not his draconian nature but his forgetfulness of his human nature, and he’s not the only one affected. Entire towns of people are forgetting themselves, and that makes Janora’s quest (to escape the dragon) bigger (to save the dragon) and bigger (to win the war and break all the curses).

Janora is a pretty capable character and it’s fun to be in her head. Her story progressed nicely, as did her romance with Dragon. My only complaint is that there were times when she thought of her relationship with Dragon as if it were an older, established thing…when she’d known him less than three days.

Overall, this story was a great read that kept me on my toes.

I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as book 1, but I did still really like it. I think I could read many, many tales from the land of Lucitopia 💛.

I loooved this book. With some minor editing blunders this is one of my book of the years. The steampunk vibes were a breath of fresh air and reminded me a lot of Marissa Meyers books. Some consistency between the beginning and end of the book could have been looked at as well.

I definitely would look into the rest of the books by this author.

As I loved the first book, I also enjoyed this!
Its perfect cozy fantasy that gets right into the action with a witty main character and magical story.
It was also great that it could be read as standalone but reading first book definitely gave some extra moments to think about during the story.

This is not my first book from the author and I doubt it's going to be the last, again she did a wonderful job and I love the cozy fantasy vibe, it was just what I was needing to be honest, she always knows what to write

This was a fun, cozy and super cute read! It also managed to tackle some serious topics like sexism in a great way, showing that we're all equal in life. My only real complaint is that I wish there was more! I do hope we'll see them again given the ending, but either way, if you're looking for something quick, cozy and lighthearted, grab this.

This fantasy story made me smile from the first few words right to the end. This book was an unexpected treasure of a find. Easy read, fun, lots of humour in a fairytale story. Jonara doesn’t win a pig in a lottery as she had thought, no she wins something much bigger. The chance to befriend a dragon who thankfully doesn’t eat maidens, and an adventure because things are not at all as they seem. Thank you to Sungrazer Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. I am never dissapointed with a book from Josephine. This book had so much going for it with fantasy and storytelling. Don't get me started on the amazing characters who's growth is waeved into the very words. I do hope we get more from these characters as I want to see where this all goes. The magic is electrifying and leaves me feeling powerless without it. Give us more

A cute and cozy fantasy about a girl who ends up as a sacrifice to a dragon and goes off to war, for typical reasons but still worth the read. While this is a second book it can be read as a stand-alone.

Oh, I loved reading this book! I loved the first and I was excited to see where this sequel would go. I had such a great time getting to know Jonara and her dragon! It was such a nice and enjoyable fairly low stakes story with characters that were so fantastic to read about!

I'm wondering about the world, because the first book was about the Virtues, and they weren't mentioned in this one, it was about different creatures like dragons and such. I think each book will be affected by each story, which characters are there, and maybe about who is from our world. We'll see with future books!

Jonara is practical, and she's resourceful. To be given as a sacrifice to this dragon, and being lucky that he doesn't want to eat her, well, that was great. But then things built to being a rebellion against Asphodel, and her common sense and organization was of great help, and I loved it!

We basically got confirmation of my theory about Asphodel, which was great, as well as deeper view of this part of the world, which was great. Also, we got to see what it's like when someone from our world stays in Lucitopia, which was great to read!

This was a terrific read and I can't wait for the sequel!

While reading, this book at times reminded me of classic fairytales, Monty Python, George of the Jungle, and Howl’s Moving Castle. I know. A strange combination. But I recommend reading this for yourself to see what I mean.
This is another book I’m torn on how to rate it. Cause on one hand I loved. It was an adult story, but silly and light-hearted. I loved the characters. I loved all their interactions. However, I really wish this was longer. Like I understand after the final big plot twist why it wasn’t, but everything felt so rushed. Like all the plot points and development would normally had made up 3-6 thick fantasy books. And because of the speed there were some plot holes and lack of understanding for certain motivations. Or the motivations would’ve been understandable and packed a bigger punch if it had been allowed to simmer.
Overall, very enjoyable. I loved it. Again, loved the characters and the twists. I just wish it gave itself more time.
