Bug on a Bike

Kids will love this adorable little character and want to get on their bike and follow along after him. One day little bug gets on his bike and goes to visit his friends (he has lots of them) and invites them to ride along to an unknown destination. His friends willingly oblige. They get caught up in the spirit of the adventure and gladly grab their bikes and get into line..... going? they know not...but going.

This romp-rhyming book will have you scratching your head and smiling at the diversity of bug's friends. The amigos keep trekking along blindly and happily until they reach a fantastic end to their journey which calls for a great celebration. Each "chum" carries on to his heart's content while little bug stands back and revels in the joy his friends are exuding as they party on through the day and probably way into the night.

The book has rhyming text but is enhanced by speech bubbles too. The illustrations are simple, expressive and very kid-friendly. A fun read-aloud and a perfect birthday gift.

I enjoyed this little trek with "Bug on a Bike" and delighted in the creativity employed to create the characters that joined him. The illustrations will surely feed the eyes of observant readers. Reminiscent of Dr. Seuss, this book, with rhyming text and a slow building of bug's entourage toward a surprise destination, is sure to be a hit with young readers.

Bug on a Bike is such an adorable book!!!!! Just by seeing the cover and talking about a bug riding a bike will have my students giggling. They would love meeting all of bug's friends on the ride to Bug's party as well.

I would love to incorporate this book into my lessons! There are a number of subject I can use this book for and as a teacher, I LOVE that! I can use this book while not only talking about rhyming, but friendship and healthy lifestyle was well.
