Definitely not for everyone. Random is a pretty good name for this one. The plot is pretty random. Still, we're always interested in new manga style books and new writers/artists. Perhaps not one that we will buy but I'll definitely keep it in mind to recommend to our manga fans.

As a person without an extensive knowledge of manga, I did not know what to expect from this book, but once I got into it I enjoyed it very much. Random is the most appropriate word to describe the book. Although the books focus on Fiji and her friends and family, it does not even try to tell a coherent story. This will not confuse the reader because Fiji tells reader how the book will work on the first pages. As she explains it the book consist of four cell strips and one or two page “stories.” Most of them serve as jokes and gags. Through the brief “stories,” the reader learns that Fiji loves video games, has friends named Orange and Koco, and an exchange student has just moved into her house. Fiji and her friend are charming and likable. Many of the jokes are funny, some of the jokes are corny, and some are self-referencial. As a stand-alone book, enjoying this book does not require investing in a long series. Verdict: Highly Recommended. Teen manga fans, especially female fans, will enjoy this humorous book. Also, as a western-style, single volume, new manga readers will enjoy it.
