This is a delightful addition to the Peanuts series, featuring the all-time favorite beagle. This book about the outdoors is perfect for young readers aged 7-11. The author has done an incredible job to compile a collection featuring Snoopy, Woodstock, and friends as they help teach kids about nature, the outdoors and fun camping escapades. The book combines humor and adventure, showcasing encounters with wildlife and outdoor activities. Notably, it includes a journaling section, camping tips and fun lessons, enriching the reading experience.

The perfect book for families. It's such a cute and fun read with so many amazing activities to do with your family. It gives the adults that nostalgic feeling and allows the kids to fall in love with their favorite characters while also learning incredible life skills.

Snoopy’s Guide to the Great Outdoors is obviously American so much of the information about animals, plants, etc is geared towards that but this book is still perfect for any child with an interest in nature and the outdoors. Each chapters focuses on a subject around camping and hiking, such as pitching a tent or eating outdoors, and teaches its Beagle Scout readers how to do these safely (for themselves and the environment), ending with a badge for what has been learned. There is plenty of room for children to make notes of what they’ve learned, lots of activities to try and, of course, beautiful and fun illustrations. I’ve loved Snoopy since childhood myself and it’s wonderful to see the range and quality of the Peanuts brand continues – this would be a fantastic present for any child, helping them learn about the world around them and how to safely make the most of being a part of it.

As a lifelong fan of Peanuts, I was absolutely thrilled to dive into Snoopy's Guide to the Great Outdoors by Kristin Mehus-Roe. This book is an absolute gem that combines the charming wit of the Peanuts gang with practical outdoor knowledge. If you’re looking for a way to get kids excited about nature, this guide is a must-have!

The book takes readers on an adventurous journey alongside Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, and the whole crew as they explore the great outdoors. It’s fun to see everyone's favorite beagle in his element as the leader of the Beagle Scouts, where readers can earn badges while learning essential outdoor skills. From mastering the art of building a campfire to understanding water safety and practicing “leave no trace” principles, this guide is packed full of valuable information.

What I loved most about this book is how it manages to be both informative and entertaining. Each character brings their unique personality to the table—like Peppermint Patty’s laid-back approach or Linus’s thoughtful insights—which makes learning about the wilderness so much more enjoyable. The sidebars featuring each character add a delightful touch, making it feel like you’re sharing these adventures with friends rather than just reading a guidebook.

There are tons of activities sprinkled throughout: from scavenger hunts and games to writing prompts for documenting your outdoor adventures. This interactive aspect really encourages kids (and adults!) to engage with nature and keep track of their experiences. This guide is so fun and adorable! Great for kids/families that enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, and camping. I like that the book is set up to accommodate those new to being outdoors as well as some that are more experienced and I feel it has activities for almost any age. There are Peanut comics throughout that add a sense of nostalgia and educational points that don't even feel like they are such, they just slide right in. The only thing I would like to see different would be boxes to mark off where there are checklists. That is something that my oldest child would love to do.

This book is so cute - a perfect gift for christmas for little explorers. The illustrations of Snoopy and his family and friends are always a delight. I like the interactive elements and writable pages/lists. Super

This book has blown me away! I was not expecting an in depth lesson on all things outdoors. My son and I have been reading this and learning all about nature and tips and trips for when outdoors. I can’t wait to get my kids outside more and let them lead and show me all of the amazing things they have learned. Snoopy's Guide to the Great Outdoors is a delightful handbook to camping and outdoor fun. I loved how much our favorite Peanuts characters showed up in this one, and the delightful illustrations kept it engaging and fun. I don't know how much the kiddos will be looking for a Snoopy nature guide, but the parents will love this one!

A cute outdoors guide that feels like it's geared more toward younger children. The thing I enjoyed most about this book was the mention of forest bathing and meditation. It also had easy steps to help those along in their journey of connecting to nature. Between the checklists, scavenger hunt, the guide to rainy day camping, and the field note areas, I really enjoyed this book. It's something I would definitely get for my niece. Not to mention the nostalgia of reading a guide accompanied by Snoopy and friends. It has all the essential need to knows where camping is involved and hiking. Between fire safety and a guide to tying knots, it's a good beginners guide, especially for the little ones in our lives. I think this book would definitely spark interest in anyone to get outside and enjoy nature.

This is a very cute book that also has a lot of good information in it for kids of a certain age – there is a lot of text. It would make a really good gift.

Cheers for the descriptions that would be easily understood by the kids and totally appreciate the comic strips as I feel the book would be so incomplete without them.

The kids will get to learn about the basic everyday environment including the basic introduction to the wild animals that live in the city, the clouds, parks that are dog friendly and such interesting information. We will get to know about the basic scout activities, scavenging hunts, hiking, camping out and such outdoor adventures!

Just go for it. Your family will have a lot of fun just reading one chapter! Okies, I am going out cos I can’t just sit inside rotting!

A very comprehensive and informative book about camping! I love the accompanying Snoopy comics and graphics scattered throughout the books. It was fairly easy to navigate, and the information was straight-forward considering I'm new to camping.

The Snoopy’s Guide to the Great Outdoors is an excellent resource that will teach and entertain at the same time. From the “beagle scouts oath” to the guide to clouds and scavenger hunt ideas - a really great book.

The layout makes it perfect for all ages - young and old. If you’re an avid Snoopy fan, the peanuts gang and the cartoons add humor throughout the book. I found this to be a very thorough guide book explained in a fun and entertaining way.

I'm always looking for new fun outdoor activities to do with my daughter, but unfortunately I'm just not that knowledgeable when it comes to camping and hiking.
The illustration strips are cute and a great way to break up the text in the book. There's even a small section with recipes!

This is such a cute book! I love the layout, with relative comic strips dispersed throughout. I think this will make a great addition to our juvenile non-fiction collection. It would also make a great gift for an aspiring outdoors enthusiast!

This is the absolute cutest book, in my opinion. If you’re a fan of Peanuts and/or the outdoors, it’s a must read. Great for all ages, 3-99! Older kids can read it on their own, with parents, or with a scout or similar group. Younger kids can read it with adults and look at all the cute illustrations. The info can be simplified or expounded on, depending on age level. There are eight chapters and eight badges, each on a different topic. There are lists for outdoor etiquette, for camping essentials, for plants/ animal to observe, and more. So much fun to check those off and “earn” the badges. Heck, I want to collect the badges. Too bad they aren’t available as real patches! There are classic cartoon strips from Schultz peppered through the book. I think this would make a great gift for anyone who loves the outdoors!

Not much really.

There was a page with a comic strip that had Peppermint Patty in a two-piece swimsuit that left her midriff showing, but could easily be fixed with a little pen.

There was a mention of mythology about the stars and a short mention of false gods.

All in all, it was a pretty good book, and has some things that are good to know if you plan to go camping.

This was an easy-to-read beginners guide to hiking and camping in the great outdoors.

In this book, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang share their favorite tips and tricks for having the best and safest time out in the wild.

I especially liked the comic strips that were sprinkled throughout the book and kept it from being dry or boring.

A good guide to start out camping and goes in depth about the benefits of camping, and the steps on how to have a great time outside with nature. A great start if you or your child would like to learn how to camp safely and comes with nice badges to award them.

How to prepare and when it's a good time to plan a camping trip, activities include:

• What types of animals one might expect.
• Lists of hobbies one can do at home/ locally to reconnect with nature
• Stuff to learn prior to camping and even ways to practice it at home.
• How to prepare for what's ahead
• Lists the many types of camping styles, hikes, backpacking, and goes into detail how about
difficulty as well
• Explains what to do in certain emergency situations
• Shows what plants are safe and not safe to consume
• Shows bug bites and describes how to treat some of them
• Also has a neat guide on prints and what type of animal you are tracking or are in the area
• Includes some good recipes to try at home or outdoors

This book is not just a collection of comics, rather the Peanuts gang adds their take to the many subjects that are covered in this title. This will make a fun addition to the bookshelves of nature lovers.

Earn virtual merit badges-for example, Outdoors Essentials for Beagle Scouts or Safety Smarts. Dip in anywhere and find something of interest. Learn about different types of clouds, find out what wild animals live in the city, go on a scavenger hunt, learn how to use a compass and much, much more.

This book is a great choice for a person who likes to spend time outdoors. It entertains and teaches.
