Jess is always the responsible one. But for her bachelorette Vegas party, she is ready to “let loose” with her four best friends. When Jess wakes up in a bathtub full of ice, she knows something is terribly wrong. Her maid of honor is missing, and the other girls are scattered in disarray. What happened last night? The girls will have to reevaluate last night and possibly their lives.
Waking Up in Vegas alternates chapters with the morning the girls wake up and the night before – trying to figure out how they got in this mess. I couldn’t get through it fast enough to see what happened as each chapter led to the next one and left you hanging! The end was not at all what I expected, either – a very unusual plotline, but a satisfying book!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Jess and 4 of her friends head to Vegas for her bachelorette party. A wild and glam night awaits. Then they wake up and things have gone wrong, and Rachel is missing without trace. With no memory of the night can they find her?

The story is told reliving events of the night, alternating with the morning after. It’s exciting and glamorous and the ending completely unexpected. I enjoyed the friend ship of the girls and could imagine being on the night out. This was a good read and kept me hooked until the last pages!

This was a pretty good book! It was about a bachelorette trip in Vegas with the bride and her 4 friends and we get lots of secrets and mystery while they’re on the trip. It becomes a mysterious story where you don’t know who you can trust or what is about to happen. I think it was entertaining!!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Thanks to the author for this arc. First of all this definitely gives The Hangover vibes right from the beginning. Rachel is painted to be Jess’s best friend who is the one who arranged the bachelorette party for her. Rachel is very suspicious and acts weird on both timelines, past and present. The past is the night before when they party so hard they end up getting into a lot of problems the next following day. Rachel is “missing” and the girls try to find her. There are some pretty good twists but it isn’t like gone girl to me at all really. I wanted more thrilling but it was pretty crazy at the ending like dang. I recommend, this was a fun read. I just wish I was a bit more twisty and crazy.

I would give this 10 stars if I could! I love the movie Hangover, and this is a genius way to portray it in a thriller! Five friends on a bachelorette weekend in Vegas. What could go wrong? This was a fast paced, intriguing story. The characters and setting are described so vividly, I felt like I was right there in Vegas with them, trying to piece together what happened. Loved the storyline about their friendship and all it entails. This is a must read, you should rush to pre-order this now! Release date October 25th. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this

This story reminded me a lot of The Hangover from the start. It’s a story about a group of girl friends who go to Vegas for a bachelorette party and the ultimate Vegas experience. It was planned to be a night they would never forget… It is well written and the perfect amount of mystery, suspense, and twists. I was sucked in from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

This is a crazy ride about five girls who awaken in Vegas one morning after Jess's bachelorette party. Jess is in a bathtub full of ice and Rachel--her maid-of-honor and party planner--is handcuffed to Alex.a man who works at the Bellagio where they are staying. None of the women remember anything about the night before and they must piece together the events that landed them in this now-trashed hotel room before check-out time. Pieces of the night are recalled: an exclusive club called Cherry Pop, a flash drive in a purse, a credit card maxed out, the magician named Marvolo, and "the man in the hat knows." It's a race to the end as the women's memories slowly return and they realize they have each learned something about themselves.

This is my first read by J.E. Rowney. Waking Up In Vegas had me intrigued from the very first chapter and to be honest, I couldn’t put it down. The switch between last night and this morning kept it an interesting and fast paced read. I did find some of the dialogue and themes a bit repetitive, but overall I really enjoyed this book and would give it 4 stars!

A story of friendship, resilience and forgotten memories. An absolute adventure.

Imagine waking up in Vegas the night after your Bachelorette party with zero memory of the night before. 1 friend is missing and the rest of you are in precarious situations.

This story is a wild ride and once it gets started it is hard to put down.

Highly recommend!

A group of 5 girls on a bachelorette weekend in Vegas. Organised by maid of honour Rachel for best friend Jess, Rachel promises Jess an unforgetable Vegas experience. Except Jess wakes up in the morning in a bath of ice and casino chips, three of her friends are scattered around the luxurious suite which is a mess, and one friend is missing. No-one has any memories of the night before. The women have to work to retrace their steps to attempt to work out just what happened the night before and find their missing friend.

This was a fast-paced thriller and I enjoyed the alternating timelines of 'last night' and 'this morning'. The author has clearly experienced Vegas as her descriptions of the setting were great and really added to the atmosphere of the story.

I did enjoy the ending although I was left with some questions!

Overall, a fast read that will leave you turning the pages quickly to find out just what happened, with an ending that - for me - was unexpected!

Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book.

This was my first book by J.E. Rowney and I absolutely loved it. I always like a good book that goes back and forth in the timeline, so if that's not for you, you might get frustrated. I also love a book that makes me guess and gasp, and I found myself doing both! Check this out if you want a fast-paced read! I can't wait to dive into more by this author!

Not what I expected at all. A book that will keep you intrigued and turning the pages. Not just a fun bachelorette weekend in Vegas.
Missing friends, secrets and extortionate credit card charges are all part of the fun. Or is it chaos?

Thank you NetGalley, author, and publisher for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book does a great job delivering on the mystery and thriller aspects, drawing readers into Jess and her friend group’s adventure. The author has a knack for sparking vivid imagery, immersing us in the scenes through imagination. However, I did notice a lot of repetitive information throughout—sometimes only just a chapter or two after the initial details were introduced. Additionally, the story feels a little drawn out in some places because it delves into descriptions that do not really advance the plot. Another aspect that didn’t work as well for me was the introduction of some ideas, characters, or background information. Occasionally, there’s a lot of backstory given all at once, wherein a more gradual introduction could’ve made it feel more natural.

The characters are generally likable, but a few feel somewhat two-dimensional. They’re often so confined to certain personality traits that they can come across as unrelatable, and at times, their actions seem questionable or frustrating. Despite a few plot holes or loose ends, the author did a solid job wrapping up the story with a “full-circle” ending, which felt satisfying.

I’m also not entirely sure who the target audience is supposed to be. While the ending feels aimed at teens or young adults, some of the book's themes suggest it could be for a more mature audience.

Overall, I still think that this was an engaging read!

I dig the "girls' trip gone awry" trope, and this book definitely fit that bill! Bachelorette parties are the perfect scene for a murder mystery in my opinion.

Can a book be both fast-paced and have you wanting it to go faster at the same time? This Hangover-like mystery uses alternating timelines to reconstruct a bachelorette party gone awry. The two threads are both evenly interesting and keep the intensity high.

I truly enjoyed the twists and turns in this book! When the girls on a trip wake up after a night in Las Vegas, their night rivals The Hangover in mystery. I never guessed the ending, and was always looking forward to finding out what REALLY happened that night. This was a fun read that I recommend that others enjoy, as well.

I found some of the writing to be a bit cliché especially the constant references to 'a night to remember' or 'a night you'll never forget especially considering the main characters end up not remembering anything from that evening. However I really enjoyed the duel timelines and charecter growth.

All I could think about when reading this book was the movie "The Hangover" except they are all women and there are no face tattoos and tigers.

They show up to in Vegas to have the ultimate Bachelorette Party for Jess. The book is told in back and forth from the night before and the morning after.

It starts out with the women waking up in a trashed hotel room. One in an ice bath, one in a closet, one handcuffed to a blackjack dealer, another in a showgirl costume and one of them is missing and cannot be found. None of them have any memories about how this happened and they work to retrace their steps trying to find out what happened last night.

This is a fun light read. I started it on a plane ride thinking I was going to get through a few chapters and then take a nap on the flight but it was so entertaining I stayed awake the entire flight and binge read the book.

The quest to find out what happened the night before kind of reminded me of an Escape Room, except in this case, the Escape Room was the city of Vegas. There were clues to finding their friend and they had to follow them.

The ending made me laugh out loud. Seriously, it was a modern day Wizard of Oz ending. Not giving out spoilers, but when you read it, you'll get my analogy between the two if you are an Oz fan lol

Don't take this book too seriously or overanalyze it. It's a silly, humourous read, much like the over-the-top comedy of "The Hangover."

Five Bestie Girlfriends go to Vegas for one of their bachelorette parties. With all kinds of activities and nonstop fun planned what could go wrong? Well, it seems quite a bit that turns these besties into armchair sleuths to figure out who, what, when, where and why the weekend turned out the way it did. Lots of fast paced action in this one.
