The remote and isolated setting gave the story a creepy vibe and an intense feeling of unease from the outset.

Tessa and her sister Lena are invited to a bachelorette party on a remote island to celebrate their friend Annalise's upcoming wedding. Due to some ongoing life issues, Tessa is reluctant to attend. But the thought of reuniting with old high school friends as well as her obsession with true crime drives her curiosity about the island’s dark past making the event inviting and intriguing. You see, ten years ago a group of girls went missing in at this very location and have never been found. Would you go?

The island is accessible only by boat and when the boat leaves the only tie to civilization is a dinghy tied up on the shore. Cell phones and all other devices are confiscated by hotel owner Irene for the duration. After all the girls are here to enjoy each other without distraction. She assures them they are not completely cut off from the world , should help be needed, as there is a landline on the first floor.

Irene, built the island’s new hotel and is oddly enough the sister of one of the missing girls. Tessa, interest in true crime stems from her former role as a true crime podcaster. To Tessa this is the perfect opportunity to investigate and maybe even solve the ten year old mystery. As she digs deeper, the island's secrets start to unravel, and Tessa soon realizes that she and her friends have entered into a world of grave danger with absolutely no resources to protect themselves.

Author, Camilla Sten kept me guessing as to who was the evil one/s were by weaving together a twisted plot with unexpected turns. The twist will keep readers on the edge and one may find it difficult to put the book down.

I really like Tessa and pulled for her the entire time. She’s smart, clever and observant as she begins to put together the pieces of the mystery.

I highly recommend this spine-chilling must-read for fans of suspenseful story thrillers.
