All About Patterns

This is a great introductory book to patterns and noticing the world around you. I teach about patterns in my preschool class and would love to use this book to broaden their understanding of patterns. How anything that repeats can be a pattern, not just numbers or colors or letters, but our daily routine and music!

I also liked how the book acknowledged that a change in pattern can feel chaotic or disruptive, children don’t always have the words to explain why they feel “off” but noticing that their pattern is different could be so helpful.

I'm always looking for good picture books about patterns. This one gives many different examples of physical patterns but also patterns in movement, music, and books. It's a great introduction to patterns if you're teaching it or just an overall great book!

Charming illustrations accompany simple text to show the importance of pattern in our everyday lives. A variety of patterns are shown: from simple patterns in artwork to the more abstract patterns of family routines. Art activities and discussions are included at the end. A lovely nonfiction book!

This isn't just a bright, gorgeous book showing different kinds of visual patterns. The pictures and text work together to help the reader understand that there are patterns everywhere, even in actions and thought. Very thought-provoking and enjoyable. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

I really liked this book and the focus too on patterns that can be found in every day life - it had us looking for them after we finished the book and there were so many you don't realise are there

The book gave a lot of examples of patterns - including physical patterns, patterns in movement, patterns in music and patterns in books and poems, etc. where there can be repetitive wording.

I thought that this was a fun book and it had some great illustrations, a nice and clear layout too and the text was clear and easy to read and follow!

It is 4 stars from me - highly recommended!

This is an engaging book about patterns - ones found everywhere - in music, art, movement, numbers, words - even in a child's daily activities. Touching sentiment that a break in a pattern might seem concerning until a way is found to make a new pattern.
Not only is the artwork beautiful but illustrator Elizabeth Goss also uses a variety of eye-catching patterns on each page. The illustrations and content align seamlessly together.
