Description
A witch and a shifter get a second chance at love in this new paranormal romantic comedy from USA Today Bestselling author April Asher.
At the bright-eyed age of eighteen, witch Harlow “Harry” Pierce attended her first Fates Festival Finding Ceremony certain the Blue Willow Wisp would lead her to her Fated match, her cougar shifter boyfriend, Jaxon Atwood. But Fate had other plans, guiding her best friend to him instead. With a broken heart, all her belongings, and a vow to never return, Harry did the only thing a heartsick witch could do. Run.
Thirteen years later, she returns to her magical hometown—with her half-human, half-shifter goddaughter in tow—hoping that not only would the town work its magic on the troubled teenager, but that the local Alpha of the Rocky Mountain Pack could help Grace identify—and control—her fiery abilities.
Jaxon Atwood was a shifter of few words and even less patience… until his mother retired as Alpha of the Rocky Mountain Pack and left the running of things to him. It’s a headache he didn’t need, and one that brought the witch who’d ripped his heart from his chest knocking on his door.
Ever since the disappearance of the town’s Fate Witch over a decade ago, Fates Haven’s magic has been slowly going haywire. There hasn’t been a Fated Match made in thirteen years, putting the town in serious jeopardy of losing its title of Highest Fated Mates Percentage in the World. But now, something is stirring in Fates Haven, Colorado, and it smells like the past, tastes like change, and looks like A SIMPLE TWIST OF FATE.

If you like paranormal romance then this novel is for you! Follow along with Jaxon and Harlow (why would you go by Harry with a cool name like Harlow?!) as they rediscover one another after Harlow fled town with a broken heart. This time, she's brought her best friend's daughter with her who gets swooped up in the misadventures.
Thank you, NetGalley for the advanced copy.

This was such a fun read, and I really enjoyed it.
We follow Harry who has to go back to her hometown, along with her best friends daughter, Grace, in order to get some answers about Grace's supernatural ancestry.
While there she crosses paths with her first love, Jax, who is now alpha of the local shifter pack and the one person who can help Grace figure out what's going on with her.
Of course sparks fly, old feelings are rekindled and Jax and Harry find themselves falling for each other all over again.
I loved the setting of Fates Haven and all the supporting characters surrounding Jax and Harry. There was lots of banter and reuniting of old friendship bonds, and ensuring shenanigans.

Firstly, thank you to April Asher and her team for allowing me to read the ARC of this book. I loved the premise of this book and how there were numerous storylines that you couldn’t quite tell how they were all connected. While sometimes a second-chance romance can feel gimmicky or forced, this felt like a natural progression. I love the twist at the end and that I did not see it coming. I also very much enjoyed the change of perspectives between the lead characters throughout the chapters.

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance by April Asher. It was fast paced, and some of the tropes are fated mates, second chance, found family. I was engaged from the first page to the last! I loved all the characters and the storyline! I hope to see more about them in future books! Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the chance to read and review.

This novel is a perfect blend of humor, heartwarming moments, and sizzling chemistry keep me entertained from start to finish. With its modern twist on the classic love story, A Simple Twist of Fate is a wickedly delicious brew of juicy conflict, witty one-liners, and irresistible charm. Thank you to the publisher and author for allowing me to share my thoughts on an ARC copy of this book.

Romance, magic, fate, and dragons with a great story line and an amazing cast of characters; what more could you ask for?? This book hits all the marks and makes you want more! I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us In this world.

April Asher always delivers small town paranormal romance! A Simple Twist of Fate is second chance romance done right.
We have a bit of a Midnight's Summer Dream situation going on at the beginning of the book. Harry thinks her boyfriend is her fated mate but he actually turns out to be fated to someone else? Yikes! After this Harry leaves for 13 years and returning to town with her goddaughter in tow who needs help with her first shift. I really liked the second chance romance here and thought enough backstory was provided for readers to understand the reason for the breakup. I liked being able to feel the angst and tension between Harry and Jaxton. Their chemistry was great too. I really liked their romance.
This book also had found family vibes which I loved. All the other characters were a lot of fun. This was as funny as it was emotional.
A really fun read!

I love the way April Asher writes her Men. They are broody and manly and sweeter than cake. This is an adorable mystery with lots of tension and past barriers to break down. This is a second chance fantasy romance with lot of laughter and good fun. I am crossing my fingers that we get more from this small town as I love the side characters just as much and want to see them find their happily ever afters.

I am head over heals for this book! Omg Jax, Harry and the whole gang were phenomenal! This story was so easy to get into and fall in love with!
The romance portion is slow burn but when Jax and Harry finally give in to what’s meant to be….FIREWORKS!! What I loved about the book is that there was something bigger than themselves. They were trying to help Grace find answers as well as Harry finding her place back home! Through the bigger story you got to meet the amazing Fearsome Foursome, and the Big Bads!
I hope this is just the start and that there will be books on the others because I need them all STAT!

This is so good!! Urban romantasy at its finest! It's warm, cozy, funny, spicy; everything you want really. The characters, though supernatural, were relatable and all genuinely likeable. I want to live in Fates Haven, I want a Jax of my own.. I'd like to live in the book. This is an automatic buy when it's released!

This paranormal romantic comedy has the perfect mix of humor, heart, and magic! Harlow “Harry” Pierce and Jaxon Atwood’s second-chance romance is packed with tension, regret, and undeniable chemistry. Harry, heartbroken after her Fated match didn’t work out the way she’d hoped, returns to her magical hometown 13 years later, only to face her past—and the man who still has a piece of her heart. The dynamic between Harry and Jaxon is fantastic, with the perfect balance of sweet, snarky, and sizzling. Their reunion is full of emotional highs, and watching them navigate their complicated history while working to fix the magic in their town kept me hooked.
What really made this story stand out was how the plot combined a unique supernatural setting with relatable themes of growth, healing, and the challenge of confronting past wounds. The introduction of Harry’s half-human, half-shifter goddaughter added depth to the story, bringing in new stakes and emotional layers. If you enjoy a funny, touching romance with a paranormal twist and characters you can’t help but root for, this book is a must-read. The blend of magic, love, and second chances makes it a delightful, feel-good read!

Harlow (Harry) left her hometown of Fates Haven 13 years ago after a fated ceremony goes awry and planned on never looking back. Girl even cast a spell to make sure no one could ever find her. Unfortunately her goddaughter, Grace, has a “small” shifter problem and needs the help that only the Alpha of the Fates Haven pack can provide. Too bad that’s Harry’s ex, the one that got away.
I loved this one. It was a fun, lighthearted, small town, second chance romance mixed with magic, shifters, witches, demons, angels and all the rest. The found family was on point and all the friends were developed well and set up as couples for future books. I was grinning at the witty banter and small town hijinks. Of course there was a competition between sets of girl and guy friends, of course!
Harry and Jax’s love story was fun and nothing too heavy, some good solid spicy scenes too. I would definitely recommend this one to friends and look forward to the next book in the start of what I’m sure will be a great series. Chapters titles were *chefs kiss*

It's suburban fantasy, it's funny, cozy, lighthearted. Imagine the Crescent City universe had the characters of Bride living in a Mystic Falls meets Stars Hollow town, but like with a way better sense of humour. I loved the main characters, they had great chemistry. The intrigue and romance felt well balanced. A Simple Twist of Fate is aptly named as it's a really fun little twist on the fated mates trope.
I was planning on just kind of reading this on the side, but by 10% in, I couldn't put it down. Would recommend to anyone looking for a paranormal romcom that doesn't take itself too seriously.

This book was stunning and just what I needed to keep myself out of a slump! The plot was simple but the romance was what really interested me! i loved Jax and Harry so much and their second chance! The found family trope was executed beautifully.
I also really like how the ending leaves room for a possible second book but also answers all the questions you had along the way.
This book has such a cozy vibe to it and I think this author is going to be a auto buy author for me!
Thank you to St. Martin’s Griffin for the chance to read an early copy of this beautiful book!
