Description
A season of peace is the finest time to plant the seeds of war.
A pirate-queen discovers the only gold around is in the bars of her cage.
A temple-courtesan's heart dances for the archer she was tasked to destroy.
A librarian learns how to steal to save the world from an ancient plague.
As the Conclave of Peace dawns in the Tree Cities of the East to decide the future of the realm, deaf swordswomen and exiled snakelings, spoilt heroes and lovesick princes, immortal assassins and their apprentices will find no sun to light their path.
For the Son of Darkness rises, boiling over with a wrath that all the oracles in the world cannot hope to stop. After all, seeing the future is one thing, changing it is quite another…
...Unless it is through a heist.

Dance of Shadows is such a good story. Loved everything about this book. I rated it 5 stars because this story really deserves it.
The follow up to Sims of Darkness, this a page turning read that will have you hooked from page 1. A brilliant atmosphere, intriguing protagonists and a plot that will keep you captivated right till the final page.
Once again Gourav Mohanty has proven that he has a wild and vivid imagination, and the skill to tell us a dark and twisty story. One that likes to hit us right in the feels!
This book runs alongside his previous book, giving us the story of characters that were mentioned or had smaller roles in Sons of Darkness. Mati, Pirate Queen and soon-to-be Empress is not happy in her marriage, but she will soon have a chance to remedy that. Vahura is a Princess and librarian and is on a mission to save the world though she doesn't expect where her mission will take her. Duryodhan and Karna want to save a former lover from her fate, but fate has a different plan in store for them. Nala and her master Parshuram are following their destiny to meet the Son of Darkness, but alas it is not the man they think it is.
Once again, this was such a beautifully written, dark, twisty, political book that I had a hard time putting it down. Finding out what happened to some of these characters from the previous book (despite them being seen as side characters) was wonderful as some of them were my favourites. And while their actions may not be seen as super important to the main saga, their actions have lasting consequences. And I loved reading that,
A must-read, you will not be sorry.
This book was absolutely amazing and took me by surprise a couple of times. There were a lot of chapters with twists in them I didn't expect at all.
I was firmly kept on the edge the whole time.
The characters are, just like in book 1, we'll write have a lot of depth and the author have me the feeling they're real people. I didn't like all of them, but there are some I extremely favor, like Nala. Loved her in book 1 and it was the same here.
The world building is detailed and rich, and I had a lot of fun experiencing the different places with the characters.
Another big plus is the prose and the writing style of the author. Beautiful, not always easy to read, but worth the time and focus.
If you liked book 1, you're gonna like this one as well...happy reading!
Big thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
