I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I think this may be a book that I purchase as there are many great workout moves for me to do with just my kettlebell. Lots of great pictures and instruction to go with each move.

The title says it all here - a simple set of kettlebell exercises and plans, with little fuss. The first 6 exercises include images while the next 12 include links to videos on YouTube.

The book breaks down as follows: Chapter 1: All fitness in a single sentence (the science and Strong On! philosophy). Chapter 2: Kettlebells 101 (why, toolkit, metabolic resistance training, complexes, combos, chains). Chapter 3: Your lift library (big 6 kettlebell lifts and how to do them, double your please, other exercises you'll sometimes encounter along the way). Chapter 4: Choose your generalist fitness adventure (for strength, muscle, conditioning and fat loss, mobility, on training cycles and deloads). Chapter 5: The motherlode 101 kettlebell workouts (strength workouts, muscle workouts, conditioning workouts, mobility workouts). Conclusion. Appendix 1: 300 swing kettlebell challenge. Appendix 2: The world's simplest scientific eating plan. Elevate your kettlebell game, dive into these (free) resources.

All the workouts have QR codes to youtube videos of the exercise but only the first groups has pictures (in black and white). The book is very quick and the author doesn't spend a lot of time on filler. The workouts themselves include a name, the exercise type, and then number of wraps. Each has a prescription time and weight recommendation.

In all, this is very easy to use and you shouldn't feel overwhelmed. The videos are a nice addition to actually see the exercise in practice. It's a bit cumbersome to go to Youtube all the time in the beginning but the videos are for reference when first starting, so you won't need to go there later. The QR codes means not having to type in URLs all the time. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Most exercise books want you to go ALL IN to get the maximum effect. Strong ON! Is different. Pat Flynn wants you to do 80% ish. Basically you can get the biggest bang for the minimum effort. Look amazing without feeling deprived. This is the book for the average person who want to be fit and healthy not ripped. This is a work out book I can whole heartedly endorse.

Thank you BenBella and NetGalley for an ARC in return of my honest review.

Strong ON is the book I needed. I know how crucial strength training is, especially in menopause and Pat Flynn makes it feel doable, dare I say fun !

He provides the underlying principles as well as the way to implement them. I love his philosophy of Generalist and Minimalism, especially as someone who only wants to spend minimal time at a gym. He gives some basic science of strength training which for me was invaluable, perhaps for others who train and have a good background knowledge you may skip this part.

The program Pat provides is based around kettlebells. The book provides programs based on the dominant techniques shown. The reason I loved this book so much is that Pat explains really really clearly how to do the exercises safely and for best results. He also provides photos so you can understand the correct stance and combines this with QR codes to his YouTube videos that show him executing the exercise. I found this invaluable as he provides the absolute basics even down to when to inhale and exhale.

Thank you for this fabulous resource. Before reading this book I would have gravitated to a machine at the gym but now I am beginning to use the kettlebells.
