This is a great book, showing how almost anyone can grow their own vegetables, and why they should. The book is practical and to the point, with very good basic information. There are a few necessary illustrations, and I hope the printed version will have a few more.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this e-book.
Good primer on how to start gardening in small spaces.
Very good book for info about starting a veggie garden
in a tight place... small yard or apartment. If my cats would
just stop eating the plants that would be best!

A lovely book for everyone and anyone interested in vegetable gardens, but who might not have the space, or time and energy for a big garden. This you can do with little money as well. You get good guidance in what to do, what to do, and lots of good tips, as well as pros and cons about things like seeds or seedlings, pots or raised beds. If you want to take the first step, this book will help you!
This book is full of helpful gardening information that's easy to understand. I plan on using this guide this year as I create my own small space garden.
There was a formatting issue with this ebook, the tables did not appear as a table, just a jumble of words. I'm not sure if this is only due to the fact that I'm reading an eARC, (I hope that's the case).
This gives great information for growing vegetables in small spaces. It never occurred to me to set up a growing area in many different places. I am sure I will reference this book many many times. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
My Short Version review:
This book is really useful!
Long Version:
This book covers a lot of what I would want to try to plant. The chapters cover things like "Why you should grow your own vegetables, small space strategies, Tools and preparation, Best vegetables for small space garden, seeds, seedlings, and set, pest and disease control, Harvesting tips." Plants include many herbs, fruiting vegetables, leafy greens, and vegetable staples. The author guides you right from when to start planting particular vegetables and such (some indoors during winter still), how to transplant, watering and sunshine needs, when to start thinking of harvesting, etc. It really takes the guess work out of things, particularly with the recommended pot sizes, raised flowerbed instead suggestions and the space needed per plant.
Information was well organized in a method that is very intuitive for the reader. The author even has some tables setup as a quick guide for what plants would do best in what type of container.
This book is brilliant!!!! It is such a helpful guide for anyone wanting to grow vegetables in a small space. It covers all the basics, like why growing your own food is worth it, how to get started, and practical tips for small-space gardening. The author walks you through everything—when and how to plant, transplanting, watering, sunlight needs, and even pest control and harvesting. I loved how it took the guesswork out of things with clear container recommendations and handy tables that show which vegetables work best in different setups.
The advice is super well-organized and easy to follow, making it perfect for beginners or people like me with limited space. I never even thought about setting up containers on a kitchen wall or using raised flowerbeds, but now I’m excited to try! Whether you’re working with a windowsill or scaling back to a smaller garden, this book is full of practical, inspiring ideas. I can already tell it’ll be something I reference again and again.
